I am a ### year old new driver. Though I've only had my license since April, I have had permits since I was 18 and have essentially been practicing driving for almost 4 years. God has blessed me with family members and mentors who gave me good training and trusted me with their vehicles. I saw no rush in getting my license until recently, so I went and got it.

I was involved in an accident in a heavy snow fall last week. The insurance companies are debating fault, but I just learned that I am not in my mom's insurance policy. So if I am determined to be at fault, we are responsible for the other parties' damages. This worries me because we don't have much money, and I am also paying for my last semester of college. I feel like if we have to pay for car damages, this will affect our family tremendously and I won't be able to attend school ;/

I have been worried sick, and been feeling incredibly guilty for accidentally placing this burden on my family. I am thankful and grateful to God that no one was hurt in this situation, and both parties were able to drive away. I am also grateful that my mom's car still runs and she's able to travel to and from work. I pray to God for peace of mind, for the minds and hearts of the insurance companies, for the other driver and their family. I also pray that this situation works itself out that my mother doesn't have to pay out-of-pocket.

This may seem small, but this is the most dramatic thing to happen to me yet... Car accidents are scary, and money issues are as well. I feel helpless. I pray to God for peace.
