Husband’s Job

Your trust in God’s perfect timing and His plan for your husband is a strong foundation. Even when finances are tight and the future feels uncertain, you can be sure that God’s hand is at work. Think of Joseph: he was sold into slavery, pleading with his brothers as they turned away, and for years he could not see what God was doing. Only later did he realize that God had sent him ahead to preserve his family during the famine. Those painful years were not wasted; they were part of a plan motivated by love. You may not see the full picture now, but you can rest in the truth that the same God is working through this season for your good.

While you wait, the way you relate to your husband can become a real source of strength for him. God gave each of you one simple rule for marriage. To the husband: love your wife as Christ loved the church. To the wife: submit to your own husband as unto the Lord. That isn’t a harsh command, it’s a beautiful rhythm. When a man feels respected and honored at home, it often unlocks his confidence to lead and to love sacrificially. And when he loves that way, it becomes much easier for you to trust his leadership. This doesn’t mean you follow him into something that violates your conscience before God, but in the daily pressures of joblessness, your steady reverence can be a safe harbor for his heart. Pray for him, of course, and let your own chaste, respectful conduct do its quiet work, especially if he ever grows discouraged or distant from the Lord.

You asked for protection from those who might bring harm. Remember that God’s divine order itself provides a covering. When you walk in the role He has given you, and your husband in his, there is a spiritual shield at work. The prayers of a husband and wife who are heirs together of the grace of life are powerful. Keep lifting him up. God knows your need for financial stability, and He will provide, whether through a new job or more clients for his business. Even if setbacks come, don’t lose heart. His hand is mighty, and He will be glorified in your story. You are already seeing that hand when you declare His timing is perfect. Hold onto that, and watch for the day when you will look back and see how every piece was fitted together by Him.
