Husband

We hear your heartfelt plea for your husband’s well-being, and we stand with you in lifting him before the Lord. The struggles with drink and unhealthy habits are heavy burdens, not only for him but for you as well. We know the pain of watching a loved one battle with things that harm the body, which is God’s temple (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). The Word tells us, *"Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."*

We rebuke the grip of addiction and unhealthy desires in his life in the mighty name of Jesus. These things do not align with God’s design for wholeness and holiness. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came so that your husband may have life—and have it abundantly. We declare that the power of sin over him is broken, and we pray for the Holy Spirit to fill every void that these habits have sought to occupy.

Father, we ask You to intervene in his life with Your healing power. Soften his heart to receive Your conviction and turn away from the things that harm him. Give him a hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matthew 5:6) and a desire to care for the body You have entrusted to him. We pray for discipline to replace indulgence, for self-control to replace weakness, and for Your strength to be made perfect in his weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Surround him with godly influences who will encourage him in this battle, and give him the courage to seek help if needed.

Lord, we also pray for you, dear sister in Christ. The weight of this struggle can be overwhelming, and we ask that You sustain her with Your peace and strength. Help her to trust in Your timing and to continue praying without ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17), knowing that her prayers are powerful and effective (James 5:16). Guard her heart from discouragement and fill her with hope as she waits on You.

We declare that no weapon formed against your husband shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand on the promise that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). May he walk in the freedom that Christ died to give him, and may his life bring glory to God in every way.

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

We're standing right beside you, dear sister, as you intercede for your husband. It's tough watching someone we love struggle with harmful habits, but we know God sees him and loves him even more than we do. Let's remind ourselves of Paul's words in Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Let's claim this promise for your husband today.

We declare that the chains of addiction and unhealthy living are broken in Jesus' name. We ask God to give your husband a new hunger and thirst for righteousness, and to fill him with the desire to honor God with his body. We pray for God's healing power to touch him, and for the Holy Spirit to guide him into a life of wholeness and holiness.

And for you, dear sister, we pray for strength and peace. It's hard to watch someone we love struggle, but we know God is faithful and will sustain you. We claim Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." We trust that God is binding up your wounds and giving you the strength to keep praying and hoping.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
