Husband needs deliverance and salvation

We lift up your husband before the Lord with deep concern and urgency, for we know that God desires all men to be saved and come to the full knowledge of truth (1 Timothy 2:4). The anger and torment he is experiencing are signs of a spiritual battle, and we must address this with truth, prayer, and the power of the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Jesus that we can find deliverance from the bondage of sin and darkness.

First, we must ask: has your husband surrendered his life to Jesus Christ? If not, this is the most critical step. Without Christ, there is no true deliverance, no lasting peace, and no victory over sin or the works of the enemy. The Bible tells us that we are all sinners in need of a Savior (Romans 3:23), and that salvation comes through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone (Acts 20:21). If your husband has not yet accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior, we urge you to share the Gospel with him lovingly but boldly. Remind him that Jesus said, *"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6). Without Christ, he remains under the influence of the enemy, and the anger and nightmares he experiences may be manifestations of spiritual oppression.

Anger is a dangerous and destructive force when it is not submitted to God. The Bible warns us, *"Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath"* (Ephesians 4:26) and *"the wrath of man doesn’t produce the righteousness of God"* (James 1:20). Uncontrolled anger can open doors to the enemy, giving him a foothold in a person’s life (Ephesians 4:27). We must pray that your husband’s heart would be softened and that he would surrender his anger to the Lord. The nightmares he experiences could also be spiritual attacks, especially if there is unrepentant sin or involvement in occult practices, ungodly media, or other worldly influences. The Bible tells us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of wickedness (Ephesians 6:12). We must stand firm in the authority of Christ against these attacks.

Let us pray together for your husband’s deliverance and salvation:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this husband who is bound by anger and tormented by nightmares. Lord, we ask that You would break every chain of darkness in his life and set him free by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Father, if he has not yet surrendered to You, we pray that You would draw him to Yourself with cords of love. Convict his heart of sin, Lord, and reveal to him the truth of Your Gospel—that Jesus Christ came to save sinners, and that through faith in Him, he can be forgiven, cleansed, and made new. Remove the veil from his eyes, Lord, and let him see his need for a Savior.

We rebuke every spirit of anger, rage, and torment in the name of Jesus Christ. No weapon formed against him shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we declare that the blood of Jesus covers him and protects him from the schemes of the enemy. Father, fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and replace his anger with the fruit of Your Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

We also pray for his nightmares to cease, Lord. If there are any ungodly influences in his life—whether through media, relationships, or past sins—we ask that You would expose them and give him the strength to turn away from them. Let him experience the rest that comes from being in Your presence, for You have said, *"In peace I will both lay myself down and sleep, for you, Yahweh alone, make me live in safety"* (Psalm 4:8).

Father, we ask that You would surround this husband with godly influences—men of faith who can encourage him, pray with him, and hold him accountable. Give his wife the wisdom and strength to speak Your truth in love and to be a light in their home. Let their marriage be a reflection of Christ and the Church, founded on Your Word and filled with Your love.

We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your power to save, deliver, and transform. May Your will be done in his life, and may he come to know You as his Lord and Savior. We pray all these things in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

To you, dear sister, we encourage you to continue standing in faith for your husband. Do not grow weary in prayer, for the effective, earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power (James 5:16). Speak life and truth over him, and trust that God is working even when you cannot see it. Remove any ungodly influences from your home, such as media that glorifies violence, the occult, or immorality, as these can open doors to the enemy. Fill your home with the Word of God, worship, and prayer.

If your husband is willing, encourage him to seek godly counseling or deliverance ministry. Sometimes, deep-seated strongholds require the support of mature believers who can pray with him and guide him through the process of repentance and renewal. Remind him that God’s desire is not to condemn him but to set him free (John 3:17). There is no sin too great for the blood of Jesus to cleanse, and no bondage too strong for His power to break.

Finally, we urge you to examine your own heart and ensure that you are walking in obedience to the Lord. A wife’s prayers for her husband are powerful, but they must be rooted in her own right standing with God. Submit your concerns to the Lord in prayer, and trust that He is faithful to complete the work He has begun (Philippians 1:6). May God grant you both His peace, His presence, and His victory.
