Husband job and life

Disciple of Prayer
Pray husband gives life and job to God. That God will break his attitude, depression, and mental state he in. Pray God will shut all doors that shoukd not be pursued

We hear your heartfelt cry for your husband’s spiritual, emotional, and vocational restoration, and we join you in bringing this burden before the Lord with urgency and faith. The struggles you describe, attitude, depression, and a troubled mental state, are not beyond the reach of God’s healing power. The Word declares in Psalm 34:18, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We stand on this promise, believing that God sees your husband’s pain and is already at work to lift him from this place of darkness.

First, we must address the foundation of his life and work: has he surrendered them fully to Christ? Proverbs 16:3 reminds us, "Commit your deeds to the Lord, and your plans shall succeed." If his job, his ambitions, or his daily struggles are not anchored in God’s will, they will only lead to frustration and despair. We pray that the Holy Spirit would convict him deeply, breaking every chain of self-reliance, pride, or rebellion that may be hindering his walk with the Lord. Father, we ask You to shatter any hardness of heart and replace it with humility and dependence on You alone.

Depression and mental anguish are real battles, but they are not fought in our own strength. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 tells us, "For the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds, throwing down imaginations and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ." We rebuke the spirit of heaviness in Jesus’ name and command it to flee. We declare that your husband’s mind is being renewed by the truth of God’s Word, that he would take every thought captive and replace lies with the promises of Scripture.

We also pray for divine intervention in his career. If there are doors he is pursuing that are not aligned with God’s will, we ask You, Lord, to shut them decisively. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Father, we ask that You close every wrong door, whether it be a job, a relationship, or an opportunity, that would lead him away from Your purpose. At the same time, we pray that You would open the right doors, the ones that lead to fulfillment, provision, and Your glory.

We must also address the importance of his spiritual leadership in your marriage. Ephesians 5:25 calls husbands to love their wives "just as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it." If his struggles are affecting his ability to lead with love, wisdom, and godliness, we pray for a transformation of his heart. May he seek the Lord earnestly, not just for his own sake, but for the sake of his marriage and family. We declare that he will rise up as the spiritual head God has called him to be, leading with strength, compassion, and faith.

Finally, we want to gently but firmly remind you both that true peace and restoration come only through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. If your husband has not fully surrendered his life to Him, now is the time. Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Salvation is not just a one-time event but a daily walk of faith. We pray that he would not only know Jesus as Savior but also as Lord over every area of his life, his job, his mind, his marriage, and his future.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with boldness and humility, knowing that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. We lift up this husband to You, asking that You would break every chain of depression, pride, and rebellion in his life. Shut the doors that should not be opened, and open the ones that lead to Your perfect will. Renew his mind, restore his joy, and fill him with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. May he walk in the fullness of Your purpose, leading his family with godly wisdom and strength. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to stand firm in faith, trusting that God is working even when you cannot see it. Continue to pray for your husband, speak life and truth over him, and surround him with godly influences. Galatians 6:9 reminds us, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up." Your prayers are powerful, and God hears them. Keep pressing in, and watch Him move.

We're holding you and your husband up in prayer right now. It's hard to watch someone you love struggle with a heavy spirit and a clouded mind, and we can hear how much you want him to find freedom and direction. That honest longing you have, that he would truly hand his job and his whole life over to God, is a deep, good prayer, and you're not alone in it.

When someone is in the grip of depression, they often feel shut off from God, as if a wall stands between them and any sense of hope. Counterintuitively, these aching seasons can sometimes be the very moments when a heart is most open to real change, when the usual defenses fall away. Your steady, quiet presence may be one of the ways God breaks through the fog. You don't need to have the perfect words. Simply sitting with him, or gently inviting him to tell you what feels heaviest, can be a powerful act of love.

If he hasn't spoken with a doctor or a trusted pastor about what he's experiencing, it may be worth encouraging that step, not as a fix, but as a way to help carry the load. There's no shame in reaching for support for his mind and spirit together.

We join you in asking God to shut every door that leads him further into darkness, and to open the ones that will restore his soul.

Lord Jesus, we lift this husband to You. You know the weight he carries and the despondent place he's in. Quietly and decisively, break through the confusion and sadness. Help him to loosen his grip on his own plans and surrender everything to You, his work, his identity, his future. We ask You to close every path that would pull him away from Your peace, and to guide him gently into Your light. Give his wife wisdom and sustain her hope. In Your name, we pray. Amen.

The lot of a wife whose husband walks in darkness is a sore trial indeed, and your heart's cry has risen to the throne of grace. What you ask for him, that he would give his life and his labour entirely into the hands of God, is the very thing that must be. Unconditional surrender is the only door to peace. Bid him fling wide the gates of Mansoul, that Prince Emanuel may enter and rule as sole sovereign in every street. Until a man makes a full capitulation, yielding himself at discretion to the divine will, his soul must remain a battlefield where the black flag of rebellion still flies. Pray on, for the Lord has His own appointed time to break the stoutest heart and bring it low in blessed submission.

You plead that God would shut every door not to be pursued. This is a wise prayer, for the Lord holds the key of all doors, even those of the shadow of death. We cannot see beyond the threshold of any one day, but He ordains our steps. Trust that when He shuts a door, no man can open it, and when He opens, none can shut. That closing in His providence, though it seem stern, is a mercy to a wayward soul. He often hedges up our path with thorns that we may turn into the way of life. Let him find no success, no rest, no comfortable settlement in any path but that of the Precious Blood and the cross of Christ. This is the iron gate that leads into the city of true peace.

His depression and mental turmoil are like the warfare of Job, a weary appointed time. Yet remember the blessed truth: our longest sorrows have a close, and there is a bottom to the profoundest depths of misery. The Lord who permits the furnace knows the measure of its heat and the span of its duration. For Job, all his losses and griefs became the stage for a greater increase in his latter end. So it may be for your husband; these inward agonies may be the plough that breaks the fallow ground of his soul, making way for the incorruptible Seed. Life in Christ is ever fresh; a depressed Christian is one who has yielded to looking within, when he should be looking up. But until he looks to the Crucified One, the eye of his soul sees only the gloom. Pray that Christ, who is the Resurrection and the Life, would anoint him with fresh oil, and cause him to spring up with a new song.

Your station as his wife is no small thing in this. Did not God say He was a Husband to His people? To you, then, the Holy One of Israel is a Husband in unstinting faithfulness. Cast your own cares and this heavy burden upon that Husband, who loves you with an everlasting love. And do not cease to be an intercessor for your own husband, for “the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends.” Job prayed for those who had misjudged him, who had spoken exceeding harshly. How much more may a believing wife plead for the husband of her bosom? Let your prayers for him be as a sweet incense, not bitter with reproach but fragrant with pity and hope. Go now, and weep for him in secret, as Job did for the poor and needy, and let your voice be heard often in the quiet place for his soul’s deliverance. God, who delights to answer the supplications of his children, may yet grant you the desire of your heart: to see that stubborn will broken, that dark cloud lifted, and that man you love walking in the light of His countenance, his life and his work firmly placed in the pierced hands. Be of good courage; only believe and wait upon the Lord, for in his own time he will bring it to pass.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You plead for prayer that your husband surrender his life and labor to God, that his depression and troubled mind be broken, and that every false door be shut. This is a sober request, yet I must ask: with what spirit do you pray? God looks not on the outward cry but on the hidden intent of the heart. Even a prayer whispered in secret avails nothing if offered with pride or a desire to control. Do you ask with humble submission, or do you secretly wish to force your husband’s will by heavenly coercion? Search yourself.

Consider the order God has established. The husband is the head of the wife, and she is bound to him as the Church is to Christ. You have no authority over your own body; you are his, and he is yours in a holy covenant. If you truly long to see him healed, it is not by commanding God to break him like a stubborn beast, but by adorning yourself with a quiet and gentle spirit. A man oppressed by darkness and chasing wrong opportunities will not be corrected by a bitter or anxious wife. Even if you devised ten thousand schemes, you could not restrain him from his misery. But a chaste, meek, and modest wife has often won her husband without a word, while a contentious one drives him further into folly.

Take care that you do not love your husband more than God. For excessive love of a mortal man brings unbearable pain when he falters. Love God above all, and you will not be crushed if your husband fails. The blessed Job, when his children perished, did not break, because he loved God more. Make the Lord your immortal Protector, and you will endure even widowhood or a husband’s prolonged waywardness without despair. Remember, the end of each person stands at the door; after death, there is no repentance. Pray, then, for your husband’s soul, but with trembling for your own.

You ask God to shut doors that should not be pursued. But do you know which doors are truly harmful? The inscrutable providence of God often hides His purposes from us, as the mysteries are kept from the uninitiated. It is not yours to dictate which paths are cursed; rather, entrust him to God, who can make even a crooked road straight. And if your husband is an unbeliever, do not separate from him. For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the believing wife. Your patient endurance may become the very door through which God brings him to repentance. So pray instead: “Lord, give me a meek and reverent heart, that through my conduct my husband may be won without a word. And whether You break his pride or close a wrong way, let it be according to Your will, not my own.” This is the honor you owe him, and in this you will truly please God.

The weight you are carrying for your husband feels like more than you can hold. You see his turmoil, that inner battle of the mind and spirit, and it is right to bring it before the Lord with such fierce honesty. The cry for God to break through, to shut every wrong door, comes from a place of deep love and a weariness that is easy to understand.

There is a temptation in moments like these to demand a simple equation, to assume that complete surrender will instantly lift the depression and clear the confusion, or that the mental darkness itself is proof of some hidden, unrepented sin. We learn from the ancient story of Job just how damaging that kind of counsel can be. Job’s friends were convinced he was a hypocrite hiding some evil, certain that his misery was the direct judgment of God upon his life. They were utterly wrong. Their accusations only heaped more pain upon a man who was, in truth, righteous in his standing before God. So be careful not to add condemnation to his internal suffering. The deep gloom he feels is real, but it is not necessarily a sign that God has abandoned him. Often these trials are a severe mercy, a form of stripping away that Satan intends for destruction but God permits to refine and deepen our dependence on him alone.

You are asking for God to close doors that should not be pursued. That is a wise prayer. In the book of Job, we see that behind the scenes, God had indeed placed a hedge around his servant, and even when Satan was allowed to tear down so many things, there were limits he could not cross. Pray with confidence that God will block the paths that lead to ruin, whether they are attractive opportunities that would feed pride or desperate escapes that promise false relief. The Lord sees clearly through the clouds that obscure our own vision. He knows the way your husband should take, even when your husband cannot see it himself.

Right now, the statements of despair pouring from him are likely not doctrinal truths but the raw language of grief, much like Job’s wild words wishing he had never been born. Do not build a theology on his worst moments. Instead, lift your eyes to what God has promised. Job cried out in his agony for a mediator, someone to stand between him and God, to lay a hand on both and bridge the impossible gap. Job lived with his deepest hope as only a question mark. Our position is so different. That mediator has come. Jesus Christ himself is the one who stands for us.

Trust that he is advocating for your husband even now. His prayer is not for the perfect, but for those who are sinking. Keep committing this situation to him without giving way to fear. You can rest in the truth that the end of the story is not found in your husband’s mental state today, but in the power of the God who reveals himself and ultimately calls forth repentance, healing, and restoration in his perfect time. That hope sustains us when nothing around us makes sense.
