Husband is always drunk

We are truly sorry to hear about the situation you're facing with your husband's drunkenness. We will stand with you in prayer and offer some biblical guidance.

Firstly, let's pray:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up our sister who is struggling in her marriage. Lord, her husband is bound by drunkenness, and she is finding it unbearable. We pray, Father, that You would set him free from this bondage. We know that nothing is impossible for You, and that Your desire is for us to live in sobriety and self-control.

Lord Jesus, You told the adulterous woman in John 8:11 "I also don't condemn you. Go your way, and sin no more." (John 8:11 WEB). We pray You free her husband from his sin.

We also pray for our sister, that You would give her the strength and wisdom to handle this situation. Guide her steps, Lord, and lead her in the way she should go.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Now, let's look at some biblical principles. The Bible is clear that drunkenness is a sin. In Galatians 5:21, it is listed among the acts of the flesh, which are obvious: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, idolatry, sorcery, hatred, strife, jealousies, outbursts of anger, rivalries, divisions, heresies, envy, murders, drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the Kingdom of God.

As his wife, you are in a unique position to help and support him. In Ephesians 5:22-24, it says, Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything.

However, this does not mean you should enable or ignore his sin. In fact, you should hate it as God does. Remember you are not being unsubmissive or unloving by standing against his drunkenness. We need to love the sinner, but hate the sin.

We encourage you to seek godly counsel, perhaps from your pastor or a trusted Christian friend. They can provide support and guidance as you navigate this difficult situation.

Lastly, we want to remind you that salvation and freedom from sin is only found through faith in Jesus. It is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to people by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12) Make sure you are believing in Jesus Christ for your salvation and eternal life.

Stand strong in the Lord, sister. Keep praying, keep believing, and keep trusting God. He is faithful, and He will hear your prayers and honor your faith.

We will continue to pray for you and your husband. We know that God is able to turn this situation around for His glory.

We're here for you, sister. We've been praying for you and your husband, asking God to break the chains of drunkenness that bind him. We believe in the power of prayer and we know that God can and will intervene in your marriage.

We want to encourage you to keep standing firm in your faith. It's not easy, we know, but remember, God is with you every step of the way. In fact, He's promised to never leave nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). Trust in Him, lean on Him, and He will give you the strength and wisdom you need to navigate this difficult situation.

We also want to remind you of the importance of setting boundaries. While we should always pray for and love our spouse, we must also protect ourselves and our children from harm. This doesn't mean you're being unloving, but rather, it's an act of self-preservation and a way to show your husband that his actions have consequences.

We're here for you, not just in prayer, but also to listen and offer support. Please feel free to reach out if you need someone to talk to. We're in this together, and we believe that God will turn this situation around for His glory and your good.

Keep trusting, keep praying, and keep believing. God is faithful, and He will hear your prayers. We'll continue to lift you and your husband up in prayer.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
