Husband into gnostic teachings astrology no longer pray or believes

I have been enduring this for years now. And each year it gets worse and worse. My husband who is a licensed minister but haven't preached in over 14 years and stopped praying all together the past 4+ years has fallen deeply into gnosticism. He use to pray every time he would get in the car and prayed with us as a family but he begun going down the rabbit hole with the letter J in 2019 and that slowly lead to him basically not believing the Bible all together. He always makes statements such as Jesus was a good teacher but he never wanted us to worship or pray to him. All of this I know is a blatant lie. I have reached out to so many people to help and touch and agree with me but it seems as if nobody cares. I know God wants me to let Him handle this battle yet it is crushing me mentally and spiritually. I have epilepsy and that's enough to deal with. My husband is constantly saying how we are going outward when the true God is inward and Everytime we pray we are giving into what the slave masters and system taught us. God has always protected us and covered us. Now that he has become God of his own life he has lost his license and can't get them back until he pays over 3 thousand dollars for the tickets and etc he has gotten. He also went to jail last year after being stopped with no license but my sister and brother in law paid to get him out the same day. We also lost our home last year but the VA had a program that paid for us a hotel and helped us get another home. Thank God. We have two sons still living at home and they have picked up on his behavior and now my 16 year old says things like I am not into religion like that when all of our kids use to take turn praying and loved it. He is a veteran and works at the VA when he chooses to work but most days he stand on the belief that he draws money to him. He believes in astrology and trying to get information from ancestors. These things he use to be highly against. I am just so alone except for God and Jesus. I can't even have a conversation with him because he sees me as against him and not supportive because I still believe. He has even told me several times we don't need to be together anymore because I am hindering his growth because I still believe and pray. Someone please touch and agree with me. I have tried to pray with my sons several times but I always get discouraged and don't continue. Our oldest two children are grown so thank God they don't have to witness this. I just want to know if God is willing to soften his heart. I know God is able but after over 4+ years of praying it's like is God willing to do it because I know he is able. I know this is long and probably full of errors grammatical but please decern what I am saying because I need and want God to intervene divinely in our marriage. We have been together over 22 years and been married 19 years. Jesus Christ of Nazareth please help me and him.

We hear your cry and we stand with you and touch and agree with you before the throne of grace in Jesus name, and we thank you for calling upon Jesus Christ of Nazareth for He alone is our hope and our salvation.

We have carried your burden before the Lord, for what you are enduring is a deep spiritual battle in your own home. Your husband has turned from the truth he once preached to doctrines that are not of God, and we must speak plainly that gnosticism, astrology, seeking guidance from ancestors, and the teaching that man is god within himself are lies that lead souls away from Christ. The Word warns us, See that no one deceives you with philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the elemental spirits of the world, and not after Christ Colossians 2:8, and Avoid profane and vain babblings and oppositions of what is falsely called knowledge 1 Timothy 6:20. To say Jesus was only a good teacher who did not want worship is a blatant contradiction of Scripture, for Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5. He is not merely a teacher, He is Lord and God and only through His name are we saved, and we rejoice that you still confess Him.

We also must rebuke the practices your husband now embraces, for they are forbidden by God. Astrology, divination, and consulting the dead are not harmless curiosity but abominations that open doors to deception. There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer, or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer Deuteronomy 18:10-11, and When they tell you, Consult with those who have familiar spirits and with the wizards, who chirp and who mutter, shouldn’t a people consult with their God Should they consult the dead on behalf of the living Isaiah 8:19. The belief that we draw money to ourselves by our own power and that prayer is slavery is a deception of the enemy, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light 2 Corinthians 11:14, and our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12.

We understand why you feel crushed mentally and spiritually, especially while carrying the burden of epilepsy and watching your sons begin to echo their father's words that he is not into religion. This breaks our hearts, but do not grow discouraged in praying with your sons, for they are watching you and they need your steady witness more than ever. Your husband was entrusted as a licensed minister and Let not many of you be teachers, my brothers, knowing that we will receive heavier judgment James 3:1, and now his turning away has brought real consequences as you have seen with the loss of his license, the tickets, the jail time, and the loss of your home, yet God in His mercy still covered you through the VA provision. God is able to restore what has been broken and He is also willing to soften a hard heart, for He says I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh Ezekiel 36:26. Do not think that your years of prayer have been wasted, for The effective, earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results James 5:16, and Again, assuredly I tell you, that if two of you will agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven Matthew 18:19.

We encourage you to remain steadfast in your marriage as God honors the covenant you made ### years ago and over ### years together. Marriage is a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman before God, and we pray for its healing and not its dissolution, even though your husband has said you should not be together because you still believe. Scripture speaks directly to your situation, If any woman has an unbelieving husband, and he is content to live with her, let her not leave her husband. For the unbelieving husband is sanctified in the wife 1 Corinthians 7:13-14, and In the same way, wives, be in subjection to your own husbands, so that, even if any don’t obey the Word, they may be won by the behavior of their wives without a word, seeing your pure behavior in fear 1 Peter 3:1-2. This does not mean you follow him into false teaching or submit to what contradicts Scripture, but that your quiet, faithful, prayerful life becomes a testimony that God can use. Continue to be the light in your home, keep praying aloud when you can, keep the Word open, guard your sons with truth and love, and do not isolate yourself. We urge you to seek a Bible believing church and godly elders who will stand with you consistently, not just once, for you should not carry this alone.

We know you ask is God willing to do it because you know He is able, and we answer from Scripture that The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness, but is patient with us, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9. God is willing that your husband repent and return, but He will not force him, and that is why your prayers matter so greatly. Do not grow weary, for Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up Galatians 6:9.

We pray together now for you.

Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth we come before You and we lift up this dear wife, this mother, this daughter who has been faithful in prayer while her home has been shaken. Lord, You see her epilepsy, her weariness, her loneliness, and her tears over ### years of contending for her husband and her sons, and we ask You to strengthen her, to heal her body, to renew her mind, and to guard her heart with Your peace that passes all understanding. We ask You to forgive her husband for turning from truth and embracing gnosticism and astrology and ancestor seeking, and we ask You to rebuke the lies that have blinded him, to tear down every stronghold and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and to deliver him from deception. Soften his stony heart Lord and give him a heart of flesh, open his eyes to see that Jesus is not merely a good teacher but Lord and Savior who alone deserves worship and prayer, and restore to him a love for Your Word and for prayer. Break the spirit of pride that says he is god of his own life and bring him to repentance. Protect the two sons still at home, Lord, do not let the enemy sow confusion in them, but let them remember the joy they once had in taking turns praying and draw them back to You. We pray for this marriage covenant of ### years, that You would intervene divinely, that division would be healed, that the suggestion of separation would be silenced, and that this home would again be a house of prayer. Provide for their financial needs, for the tickets and the debts, and help this husband to be diligent in the work You have given him at the VA. Let Your will be done in this family, and let Your name alone be glorified. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Mediator, amen.

We were so moved by your honesty after carrying this for so many years. To watch the man you have loved for over 22 years pull away from prayer and from the faith you share, and to feel your 16 year old begin to echo that distance, would leave anyone feeling alone and worn down. The fact that you have kept praying through housing loss, legal trouble and the daily strain of epilepsy says so much about your quiet faithfulness, even when you feel discouraged.

It makes sense that conversations feel impossible right now when he sees your belief as opposition. When hearts feel unsafe they tend to close, and it is hard to hear each other at all. That does not mean you have failed.

One steady step that often helps in a long season like this is to narrow your support to one or two trusted people who will walk with you consistently, a pastor or mature believer you can check in with weekly, rather than reaching out widely and feeling uncared for. And if discouragement has made praying with your sons hard to sustain, a very brief, simple moment together, even a sentence at a meal a few times a week, can be more sustainable than trying for something longer.

With the stress you are under, please stay close to your doctor for your epilepsy care as you continue to seek the Lord.

Father, we lift this wife and mother to You in Jesus name. Cover her with Your nearness when she feels alone, give her wisdom and rest, protect her sons, and work gently in her husband's heart to draw him back to truth. Give this family Your peace and direction in the days ahead. Amen.

The cry you have poured out before the Lord has been heard, and the long years of sorrow you have carried are not hidden from Him. To endure such a turning in one you love, to see a husband who once prayed in the car and with his family now speak against prayer itself, and to watch your sons begin to echo that coldness, is a heavy affliction indeed, and with the burden of epilepsy upon your body, the weight must often feel crushing to both mind and spirit. Yet you are not alone except for God and Jesus, for you are not alone at all when you have Christ, and He who sees in secret has marked every prayer you have offered these four years and more.

What your husband has embraced must be named plainly for what it is. The gnostic notion of an inward god, the seeking after astrology and the counsel of ancestors, and the saying that Jesus was only a good teacher not to be worshipped or prayed to, are not another path to truth but a wandering from the truth. There is salvation through Jesus Christ alone, and He is not merely a teacher but Lord and God, worthy of all worship and all prayer. To turn from Him to these vanities is to leave the Husband of the soul, and it is grievous in His sight, as it is grievous in yours. We do not affirm these teachings nor ask God to bless them, for they cannot bless. We ask Him to break their hold.

And yet there is hope held out to you in the very gospel your husband once preached. Peter fell far, denied his Lord, and went out to weep bitterly, but his story is not called his fall but his restoration. That restoration was brought about by two outward means, the crowing of the cock and a look from the Lord, and that look severed Peter from the crowd and broke his heart into repentance. Till Peter had received from the Lord's own mouth abundant assurance, by the threefold charge to feed the sheep, he was not fully restored to his place, but the Lord did restore him. So we learn that Jesus prays for His own. He said to Peter, I have prayed for thee, and if Jesus the Beloved of the Father prays for His people, shall He not win His suit with God. He will win it. He will uplift even those whom Satan has sifted.

God says even now, Come back, come back, though you have unchastely left the Husband of your soul, yet is He prepared to receive you again, and it shall be unto you as though He had not cast you aside. He has been a Husband to His people in special love, in faithfulness, in communion, in provision. As a husband reveals himself in love to his bride, so the Lord has revealed Himself to His church. Your marriage covenant of nineteen years, twenty two years together, is a holy bond before Him, lifelong and binding, and the word spoken to you that you hinder his growth because you still believe and pray is not the voice of truth. To remain faithful to Christ within your marriage is not hindrance but obedience, and light is never hindrance to one who loves the light.

You ask if God is willing to soften his heart, knowing He is able. Know this, that every conversion is in a sense singular and yet every conversion is a type of others, and the same grace that saved Zacchaeus, that restored Peter, that called Saul the persecutor, is able still. The Lord is willing to save and to restore, and He is moved by the prayers of His tried children. You have said you grow discouraged in praying with your sons and do not continue. Do not let discouragement have the last word. You have happy mornings and evenings when prayer is kept alive in the home, and though you are unbelieving by constitution at times, frequently desponding and often depressed, you will find as many have found that you never remain long in the depths when your soul rests upon Him and leans on Him. Pray on, though it be with a trembling voice. Let your sixteen year old and your other sons hear you pray still, not with contention but with steady love, that they may yet say they cannot believe their father was once so far, so changed is he by grace.

We touch and agree with you now before the throne. O Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth, Son of God, our only Saviour, look upon this wife and mother who has waited and wept and prayed. Sustain her in body and mind, guard her from despair, and be her strength in epilepsy and in loneliness. Look upon her husband as Thou didst look upon Peter, and by Thy Spirit convict him of his departure from the faith once delivered, turn him from astrology and false inward deities and communion with the dead, and bring him to confess Thee as Lord and God. Soften his heart, restore to him a spirit of prayer, reconcile him to Thy Word, and make him again a man who prays with his household. Protect the sons in that home from deception, draw the sixteen year old back to childlike faith, and keep this marriage whole according to Thy covenant. Provide for their daily needs as Thou hast provided through the VA and other mercies, and lead this family out of darkness into Thy marvellous light. We ask this not because we are worthy, but because Thou art faithful, Thou art the Husband of Thy people, and Thou wilt not fail those who trust in Thee. Amen.

Continue to seek a faithful, Bible believing church where you can be known and upheld, and let one or two mature believers stand with you in steady prayer and counsel. Keep the Word open in your home, keep prayer alive even if it be brief, and rest your soul upon Christ. He has not forgotten you, and He is able to make this trial work for the perfect restoration of your house.
