Husband/father/son

Beloved of All
Jesus please let my husband remember when he is getting ready for work he needs to leave me the car and not forget and drive it. He agreed the other day to this, and said he will walk to work (it is close) so I can have the car for our son's class. He was being very uncooperatve earlier and I am worried he won' leave the car. There is a chance my father will come over and take us instead and I won't need the car, but I don't know for sure. Please let my husband ask first before he just leaves, and also let him realize how important this class is and how he agreed to this. Please also let my son be cooperative. Thank you Jesus, Amen.

We join you together before the Lord in Jesus' name and we lift up your husband, your son, your father and you in this practical need that weighs on your heart. We hear your concern about the car and your son's class and your desire for cooperation and peace in your home, and we know our Father cares about even these small details of our daily lives.

We are encouraged that you have brought this to Jesus, for He invites us to cast all our cares on Him. Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. We also remember the call in marriage for husbands and wives to love and honor one another. Ephesians 5:25 says Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for it, and Ephesians 5:33 calls wives to respect their husbands. Part of that love is keeping one's word, as Jesus taught in Matthew 5:37, But let your Yes be Yes and your No be No. We pray your husband will be strengthened to follow through on what he agreed to do, to walk to work since it is close and leave the car for you, and to communicate with you first before leaving so there is no confusion. A gentle reminder spoken in love can help, for Proverbs 15:1 says A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger. We understand the disappointment when he seemed uncooperative earlier, and we pray the Lord will soften hearts and bring unity and clear communication between you both.

We also lift up your son and we pray for a spirit of cooperation and obedience, as Colossians 3:20 teaches Children, obey your parents in all things, for this pleases the Lord. And we thank God for your father and his willingness to help, trusting the Lord will provide what you need whether through your husband remembering or your father being able to take you.

We pray together, Father in heaven, we thank You that we can come to You in the name of Jesus Christ. We ask You to touch this husband's heart and mind tonight and in the morning, that he will remember his promise and leave the car as he said he would, and that he will speak kindly with his wife before he leaves for work. Help him to see how important this class is for his son and to act with selfless love for his family. Lord, give this wife peace and take away worry, help her to speak with grace and to trust You with the outcome. Bless this son with a cooperative and cheerful spirit, and keep him in Your peace. Provide clearly through the father if that is Your way, and let Your will be done in this home. Give wisdom to all, as James 1:5 promises You give wisdom generously to those who ask. We ask for unity, patience and love to reign in this marriage and family which You have ordained. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus, our Savior and mediator, Amen.

We can hear how heavy this feels tonight, worrying whether the car will be there in the morning and whether your son will get to his class. It makes sense you are holding this tightly, you want to honor an agreement that was made and you want your son to have what he needs.

When mornings are rushed, even good intentions can get missed, and worry can make it harder to talk clearly. We have found a brief, kind check-in the night before or right as the day starts can lower that tension for everyone.

If it helps, you might gently confirm the plan with your husband tonight while things are calm, perhaps deciding together where the keys will stay so there is no confusion, and send a quick check to your father about whether he can be the backup so you are not waiting to find out. A simple "Will you let me know before you leave so I can plan?" can invite cooperation without starting another difficult exchange.

We are praying with you for a peaceful morning.

Jesus, we lift this wife and mother and son to You. Give her husband clarity to remember his word and to check in before he goes, give her father wisdom about helping, and give her son a cooperative spirit tomorrow. Fill their home with calm and kindness and help her rest tonight in Your care. In Jesus' name, amen.
