We hear your concerns and lift them before the Lord together in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. First, we acknowledge that all things are under His authority, even the creatures that may cause us fear or discomfort. The Bible reminds us in Psalm 91:5-6, "You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day; nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noonday." Though spiders may unsettle you, we pray for peace and protection over your home, trusting that God is your refuge and fortress.
We also lift up your physical pain, dear one. The weariness in your shoulder, knee, and feet is not overlooked by our Heavenly Father. In James 5:14-15, we are instructed, "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up." We stand in agreement with you for complete healing and restoration. May the Lord touch every area of discomfort and grant you strength and relief.
We also pray for the matters of your office and reservation. Proverbs 3:5-6 encourages us, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." May the Lord open the doors you need Him to open and confirm the details according to His perfect will. We ask that He grant you favor and clarity in all your dealings.
Finally, we thank you for closing your prayer in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name by which we can approach the Father. You tell of huge spiders upon the screen door, and we thank God that you are kept safe without harm, and that you have means to see what stirs without. Even in such little trials the Lord shows His watchful care, and would have His children to rest in Him without fear, for He keepeth the feet of His saints.
You ask also for good rest, and for a word from the events office to confirm your reservation. We join you in asking the Lord to grant you that peculiar sleep which He giveth to His beloved. It is not the sleep of the careless sinner who slumbers while danger is near, but the sleep of contentment and security which comes from lying down in the will of God. May He quiet your thoughts, grant you refreshing rest for body and mind, and in His providence move upon those who hold your reservation to answer you kindly and speedily this day, according to His good pleasure.
And for the excruciating pain from shoulder and knee even unto the feet, we entreat the great Physician on your behalf. We very speedily care for bodily diseases for they will not let us slumber in silence, and they rightly urge us to seek healing. Know that there is abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ. The Scripture saith, the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. I pray for peace in your home as you deal with the spiders on the screen door. Even small things that disturb our rest matter to the Lord, and I am glad you have a way to see what is happening there. I ask God to keep your home safe and to give you wisdom for how to handle this, and to grant you quiet, uninterrupted rest. Sleep is a gift from Him, and I pray He will settle your mind and body so you can be refreshed. I also pray with you for the events office, that the staff would reach out promptly and give you a clear confirmation of your reservation, taking that burden from you.
For the excruciating pain from your shoulder and your knee down to your feet, I bring your body before Jesus who understands suffering fully. Scripture shows His body out of joint and in agony as described in Psalm 22, so He knows what severe pain feels like. He also knows the groaning we feel while we are in this body, longing to be delivered from this present prison of weakness and pain.
I want to encourage you about healing. The Bible shows that Jesus healed in many different ways. Sometimes He healed instantly with a word, sometimes with a touch, sometimes even without being present. In one place, at Bethsaida, the healing came gradually, the only gradual healing recorded in His ministry. This shows us He is not confined to one pattern. I believe healing is for today and God is able. There is much about healing we do not understand, and if we were in charge we would heal everyone at once, but His ways are higher than ours.
Any true healing is from God, even when it comes through the natural processes He built into our bodies. He created those processes, so a gradual recovery is no less divine than an instant touch. He also heals inward wounds, those cuts to the heart from words and long burdens that can hurt for months and years after the body would have healed. He can heal the body and also bring healing to the mind and emotions and take away those lingering scars.
Sometimes a painful knee or shoulder becomes like a thorn in the flesh that stays with us and reminds us how passing the glory of this world is, and how much we need the Lord. I pray that whether your healing comes in a moment or step by step through His natural provision, you will experience His touch and His comfort. There is a point where faith is released to receive from Him, like those who simply touched the hem of His garment believing He could make them whole. Bring your faith to Him just as you are.
Above all, we have the promise that every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. As it says in Romans 10, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. We can bow our knee to Him now willingly in love, and find salvation and hope that one day all pain will be gone.
Father, in the name of Jesus, I lift up this dear one to You. Grant deep rest and peace tonight, cause the phone call to come with clear confirmation, keep the home in safety, and lay Your healing hand upon the shoulder, the knee, and the feet.
