How Do I Know

How do I know God is speaking to me? Today I was thinking about my ex again.. I didn't get as said I was joyful but I thought to myself when would my Father God allow him to come back into my life and I like heard someone say "trust me" but not out loud it was in my head how do I know it was God? I trust Him and I know when He wants my ex will come back.

I know that I have so little power to change the outcome of these events and I trust that you will work what is pleasing to you, and best for me, out of these situations. Honestly, it is hard at first so often ask for signs. The only reasons is things like jobs/career and love you have no scripture that can prove that it is false. However, over time you are able to hear the Holy Spirit better so ask God for more wisdom and discernment so that you will be to know truth.
