How can I know God's

Anonymous

Beloved of All
love. I accepted Jesus Christ as my savior many years ago. No one explained that he should also be LORD of our lives. I am a babe in Christ, searching for answers. Please bear with me in this. I'm an only child, both parents gone. No trusted family members around. I am asking the Lord to please help me because sometimes I'm not sure what is the right decision for certain circumstances. I've endured emotional abuse and other abuse and don't recognize myself. I heard that I can call God "Abba". So Abba in Jesus name this orphan is asking for mercy, grace and help in very very difficult circumstances. I'm going through GREAT financial difficulty.

We hear the cry of your heart, dear sibling in Christ, and we are deeply moved by your honesty and hunger to know God’s love more fully. You have already taken the most vital step—accepting Jesus Christ as your Savior—and now the Lord is calling you deeper, into the beautiful truth that He is not just your Savior but also your **Lord**. This means surrendering every area of your life to His authority, trusting Him to lead you, and allowing His Word to shape your thoughts, decisions, and identity. You are not alone in this journey, even if it feels that way. The Lord is your ever-present Father, and He is tenderly drawing you closer to Himself.

You asked how you can *know* God’s love. His love is not merely an idea or a distant concept—it is a living, transformative reality that you can experience daily. The apostle John tells us, *"We know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him"* (1 John 4:16, WEB). To know His love, you must **abide in Him**—through prayer, His Word, and obedience. His love is revealed in His sacrifice: *"In this is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins"* (1 John 4:10, WEB). When you feel unlovable or broken, remember that Christ died for you *while you were still a sinner* (Romans 5:8). That is the depth of His love—unconditional, relentless, and personal.

You also shared the pain of emotional abuse and the struggle to recognize yourself. This is a deep wound, and we grieve with you over the ways the enemy has sought to distort your identity. But hear this truth: **you are not defined by what has been done to you**. You are defined by what Christ has done *for* you. The psalmist declares, *"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted. He saves those who are crushed in spirit"* (Psalm 34:18, WEB). Your Heavenly Father sees every tear, every scar, and He is tenderly rebuilding you. You are *His*—a child of God, adopted into His family, and He calls you by name (Isaiah 43:1). When you call Him *"Abba"* (Galatians 4:6), you are crying out to a Father who delights in you, who sings over you with love (Zephaniah 3:17). Let Him redefine you through His Word. Meditate on Scriptures like Ephesians 1:4-5: *"He chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and without defect before him in love, having predestined us for adoption as children through Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his desire."*

Your financial struggles are also before the Lord. He is *Jehovah Jireh*, the God who provides (Genesis 22:14), and He knows your needs before you even ask (Matthew 6:8). Jesus taught us to pray, *"Give us today our daily bread"* (Matthew 6:11), reminding us that our Father is faithful to sustain us one day at a time. We do not know the specifics of your situation, but we urge you to seek His wisdom in stewardship, to trust Him even when the path seems uncertain, and to remember that *"my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus"* (Philippians 4:19, WEB). If there are practical steps you can take—such as seeking counsel from a godly mentor, connecting with a biblical church, or exploring resources within your community—ask the Lord to guide you. But even more, ask Him to **change your heart’s posture** so that you seek *Him* above all else, trusting that He will provide what you need (Matthew 6:33).

You mentioned feeling orphaned, and our hearts ache with you. But in Christ, you are *never* without family. The body of Christ is your spiritual family, and the Lord will place people in your life to walk alongside you. We strongly encourage you to find a **Bible-believing church** where you can grow, be discipled, and find fellowship. Hebrews 10:24-25 tells us, *"Let’s consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching."* If you are unsure where to start, pray and ask the Lord to lead you to a church that teaches the uncompromised Word of God. He will answer.

Now, let us address something critical: you called yourself a *"babe in Christ."* This is a beautiful humility, but it also means you are in a season of **urgent growth**. The apostle Peter commands, *"As newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the Word, that you may grow thereby"* (1 Peter 2:2, WEB). You cannot remain a spiritual infant—you must feed on Scripture daily, pray without ceasing, and allow the Holy Spirit to mature you. Start with the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) to know Jesus more. Read Psalms to find comfort in prayer. Study Ephesians to understand your identity in Christ. And ask the Holy Spirit to teach you: *"But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I said to you"* (John 14:26, WEB).

Lastly, you closed your request by calling on *"Abba"* in Jesus’ name—that is the key. **There is no other name by which we are saved, no other name that grants us access to the Father** (Acts 4:12). Jesus Himself said, *"No one comes to the Father, except through me"* (John 14:6, WEB). You are already walking in this truth by invoking His name, and we rejoice with you! But we also want to remind you that **salvation is not just a one-time prayer—it is a lifelong surrender**. If you have never fully repented of your sins and submitted to Jesus as *Lord*, we urge you to do so now. Romans 10:9-10 says, *"That if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."* Have you done this? If not, we pray you will today. If you have, then continue to walk in that surrender, daily denying yourself and following Him (Luke 9:23).

---
**Let us pray for you:**

Abba Father, we come before You now on behalf of Your precious child, who feels orphaned, broken, and uncertain. Lord, You see the depths of their heart—the wounds of abuse, the weight of financial strain, the loneliness of feeling unknown. But You, O God, *know them fully*. You formed them in their mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13), and You have engraved them on the palms of Your hands (Isaiah 49:16). We ask that You would **reveal Your love to them in a tangible, undeniable way**. Let them *feel* Your presence, hear Your voice, and know beyond doubt that they are Yours.

Father, they have called You *"Abba,"* and we thank You that Your Spirit testifies with their spirit that they are Your child (Romans 8:16). Heal the places where their identity has been stolen. Restore what the enemy has distorted. Let them see themselves as You see them—**redeemed, beloved, and chosen**. Break the chains of fear, shame, and confusion that have held them captive. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7), especially in their financial struggles. Provide for their needs, Lord, and open doors no one can shut (Revelation 3:8). Give them wisdom to make godly decisions, and surround them with Your people who will speak life and truth into their soul.

Holy Spirit, we ask that You would **grow them rapidly in the knowledge of Christ**. Open their eyes to the truths of Scripture. Teach them to pray, to worship, and to walk in obedience. Guard their heart from bitterness, and let forgiveness flow where it is needed. Remind them that You are their Shepherd (Psalm 23:1), their Provider, their Healer, and their ever-present Help (Psalm 46:1).

Lord Jesus, You are the Good Shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to find the one (Luke 15:4). Our sibling feels lost in so many ways, but You are pursuing them. Draw them closer to You. Let them experience Your love so deeply that it casts out every fear (1 John 4:18). And Father, if there is any area of their life not yet surrendered to You, convict them gently but firmly. Let them know the joy of full submission to Your lordship.

We declare over them the words of Jeremiah 29:11-13 (WEB): *"‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for peace, and not for evil, to give you hope and a future. You shall call on me, and you shall go and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You shall seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart.’"* May they seek You with all their heart, Lord, and find You in every circumstance.

In the mighty and matchless name of **Jesus Christ**, our Savior and Lord, we pray. Amen.

Dear friend, we're here with you, holding your heart in our prayers. We're not physically present, but we're spiritually connected through our shared faith in Jesus Christ. We're cheering you on, believing in your strength and resilience, and trusting that God is working in your life.

We want to echo what was shared earlier, that God's love is not just an idea or a distant concept, but a living reality that you can experience daily. As it's written in 1 John 4:16, "We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and he who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him." To know His love, you must abide in Him through prayer, His Word, and obedience.

You've mentioned feeling unsure about certain decisions. Remember, God promises in Isaiah 43:2, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire, you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you." Trust that He is guiding you, and seek His wisdom in every situation.

You're also going through financial difficulties. Remember, God is Jehovah Jireh, the God who provides. In Matthew 6:25-26, Jesus says, "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?" Trust that He will provide for your needs.

We're also praying for you to find a Bible-believing church where you can grow, be discipled, and find fellowship. Hebrews 10:24-25 encourages us, "And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near."

Lastly, keep growing in your faith. As a baby in Christ, you're in a season of urgent growth. Feed on the Word daily, pray without ceasing, and allow the Holy Spirit to mature you. Start with the Gospels to know Jesus more, read Psalms for comfort in prayer, and study Ephesians to understand your identity in Christ.

We're praying for you, dear friend, that you would feel God's love tangibly, hear His voice, and know beyond doubt that you are His. Trust in Him, and keep walking in His light. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We want to thank you for allowing us the sacred privilege of lifting you before the Father’s throne in prayer. Your heart’s cry has deeply moved us, and we have continued to intercede for you, asking God to reveal His unfailing love in ways you can see, feel, and trust. It is a beautiful thing that you have surrendered your life to Jesus as your Savior, and we are praying earnestly that you will also experience the transformative power of yielding to Him as Lord—day by day, moment by moment. He is so faithful to lead His children gently, especially those who, like you, are seeking Him with the humility of a little one.

We understand that the weight of loneliness, financial hardship, and the scars of past abuse can make it difficult to recognize God’s presence or even your own worth in His eyes. But we want to remind you—you are *not* forgotten. The Lord sees you, dear sister, and He is drawing near to you as a Father to His beloved daughter. You called out to Him as "Abba," and that is exactly who He is—the Daddy who gathers the orphaned into His arms, who wipes away every tear, and who promises to be your Provider, your Protector, and your Peace. We have been praying specifically for Him to surround you with His tangible comfort, to open doors of financial provision that no one can shut, and to bring godly, trustworthy believers into your life who can walk alongside you in discipleship and friendship.

If you’ve begun to sense His love in new ways—or if He has answered even the smallest part of your prayer—we would be so encouraged to hear your praise report. Sometimes, the enemy tries to steal our testimony by making us feel like our breakthroughs are too small to share, but every step forward is a reason to glorify God! On the other hand, if the burden still feels heavy and the path unclear, please don’t hesitate to post again. We are here to stand with you for as long as it takes, believing that the Lord who began this good work in you will carry it on to completion.

May He continue to reveal Himself to you as the God who *is* love, who calls you by name, and who is rewriting your story with His redemption. We are praying for you to experience His mercy like a flood in your circumstances, for wisdom that surpasses your own understanding, and for a deep, unshakable assurance that you are His. Keep seeking Him, sweet sister—He will never turn away a heart that longs for Him.

In Jesus Name.
