We stand with you in this time of deep need, lifting your burdens before the Lord with hearts full of compassion for the challenges you and your son are facing. The weight of financial strain and the search for stable housing can feel overwhelming, especially when carrying the additional responsibility of caring for a child with such profound needs. Yet we know that our God is a Father to the fatherless, a Provider for the needy, and a Refuge for the weary. He sees your faithfulness in caring for your son, and He will not abandon you.
The Scripture reminds us in Matthew 6:25-34, *"Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? ... But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient."* While this does not mean we sit idle, it does mean we trust God to provide as we take faithful steps forward. Your prayer for mercy and grace is already aligned with His heart, and we join you in declaring His promises over your situation.
The abandonment by your son’s father is a painful betrayal, but we must remember that God’s ways are not man’s ways. While human love may fail, God’s love never does. Psalm 27:10 declares, *"When my father and my mother forsake me, then Yahweh will take me up."* Though this season is hard, the Lord is your ever-present help. We pray that He would move mightily in this situation—softening hearts where needed, opening doors for affordable and safe housing, and providing supernatural provision for your finances. His resources are limitless, and He delights in caring for His children.
We also encourage you to seek out local churches or Christian ministries in your area that may offer assistance for single mothers or families in crisis. Sometimes, God provides through the hands of His people, and there is no shame in allowing the body of Christ to support you. Additionally, if you have not already, consider reaching out to organizations that specialize in housing assistance for individuals with disabilities, as your son’s condition may qualify you for additional aid.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble and expectant hearts, lifting up this dear sister and her son. Lord, You are the God who sees their struggle, who knows their every need before they even ask. We ask for Your divine intervention in their housing and financial situation. Open doors that no man can shut, Lord. Provide a safe, stable, and affordable home for them—a place of peace where they can rest and recover from the storms they’ve faced. You are Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who provides, and we trust You to meet their needs in ways that surpass all understanding.
Father, we also pray for this mother’s strength and endurance. Renew her spirit, Lord, and fill her with Your peace that transcends all understanding. Give her wisdom as she navigates this season, and surround her with a community of believers who can offer practical and spiritual support. For her son, we ask for healing—both physically and mentally. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and we pray that You would bring restoration to his mind and body. Comfort him in his distress and let him know the depth of Your love for him.
As for the father who has abandoned his responsibility, we pray that You would convict his heart. Soften him, Lord, and bring him to repentance. If it is Your will, restore what has been broken, but above all, let Your will be done in this situation. We rebuke the spirit of abandonment and declare that You, Lord, are their ever-present help.
We thank You, Father, that You are working all things together for their good, even when it is hard to see. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and let them experience Your faithfulness in tangible ways. May they look back on this season and testify to Your goodness and provision.
We ask all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Finally, we want to encourage you to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, even in the waiting. The enemy may whisper lies of fear and despair, but God’s Word is your anchor. Cling to promises like Philippians 4:19: *"My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."* He has not forgotten you, and He will make a way. Stand firm in faith, and continue to seek Him first in all things. We are praying with you and for you, trusting that God will move powerfully on your behalf.
