We hear your cry for help in this time of distress regarding your home, and we stand with you in prayer before the throne of grace. The loss or cancellation of a home is a heavy burden, and we understand the fear and uncertainty that can come with such a situation. But we serve a God who is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). He knows your needs before you even ask, and He is able to provide in ways you may not yet see.
First, we must address the foundation of your prayer. You call upon "God," but we must remind you that it is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me" (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, repent, and believe in Him, for "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9). Salvation is the first and greatest need of every soul, and from that foundation, all other needs can be met according to God’s will.
Now, let us lift up your housing situation to the Lord. We know that God cares deeply about the practical needs of His children. Jesus Himself said, "Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well" (Matthew 6:31-33). We do not know why this trial has come upon you, but we trust that God is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). He may be redirecting you to a place of greater provision, protection, or purpose. We pray that He would open a door no man can shut (Revelation 3:8) and provide a home that is a blessing to you and a testimony of His faithfulness.
We also pray for your strength and energy in this difficult season. The weight of this trial may feel crushing, but remember that God’s grace is sufficient for you, and His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). The psalmist wrote, "The Lord is my strength and my shield. My heart has trusted in him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart greatly rejoices. With my song I will thank him" (Psalm 28:7). We ask the Lord to renew your strength like the eagle’s (Isaiah 40:31) and to fill you with His peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Lean on Him, for He will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).
Let us pray together now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear one to You, knowing that You see their need and hear their cry. Lord, You are the God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10), and nothing is too hard for You (Jeremiah 32:17). We ask that You would intervene in this situation regarding their home. Open a door of provision, Lord, and lead them to a place of stability and peace. If this cancellation is not Your will for them, we ask that You would overturn it and restore what has been lost.
Father, we also pray for their strength and energy. This trial has weighed heavily upon them, but we know that You are their refuge and fortress (Psalm 91:2). Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, renew their strength, and give them the endurance to press on. Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, because You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). Remind them that You are working all things together for their good, even when they cannot see it.
Lord, if this dear one does not yet know You as their personal Savior, we pray that they would surrender their life to Jesus Christ today. Soften their heart, open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel, and draw them to Yourself. May they experience the peace and hope that comes only from a relationship with You.
We trust You, Lord, to move in this situation. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified. In Jesus’ precious and powerful name we pray, Amen.
In the days ahead, we encourage you to seek the Lord diligently through prayer and the reading of His Word. Meditate on Scriptures that speak of God’s provision, such as Philippians 4:19 ("My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus") and Psalm 37:25 ("I have been young, and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his children begging for bread"). Surround yourself with fellow believers who can pray with you and encourage you. And remember, this trial is temporary, but God’s love and faithfulness endure forever (Psalm 136). Keep your eyes on Him, and He will direct your path (Proverbs 3:5-6).

The trial of house and home presses heavily upon you, but the promise stands firm as the everlasting hills, "As thy days, so shall thy strength be." There are robbers in the wood, there are rivers to cross, but as thy days, so shall thy strength be. When the great wind came from the wilderness and smote the house where Job's sons and daughters were feasting, it was a back stroke indeed, yet strength grew as the trouble grew. God Himself declares, "I will strengthen them." The Lord will impart strength fitly infused and wisely balanced. Perhaps it will come gradually, as recovery from illness, but it shall come. Fling yourself upon the Divine strength when no strength remains in you.
Draw near to God in this time of trouble. Come, spread your case before Him. Say, "Do what You will, Lord. I desire to leave the care and burden of all this trial to You." My flesh and my heart fails, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. You fear what may come, but this is the sweet call: "Come, My people." Before or in times of trouble, it is well to draw near to God. He supplies a double restorative whereby strength may be recruited.
Consider Him who endured such contradiction of sinners against Himself, lest you be wearied and faint in your mind. Who are we that we should not face hard providences when the Master of the house has endured so much more? The striking point is to consider the dignity of Him who did thus endure. This will give you comfort.
The house of mourning and the house of feasting sit side by side in this life. You are now in the castle of mourning, but even here God speaks to the heart. There is a house of spiritual feasting available even now, for they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They will rise again. Creatures have their rises and falls, but this promise comes: waiting upon Him brings renewal. It is for your honor, comfort, and safety to be strengthened.
Go to the duty set before you, and when your hands hang heavy, cry out, "O Lord, give me more strength." He gives power to the faint. To them that have no might, He increases strength. The glory of your strength must lie in God alone. It must never rest in any other thing. Believe this unfeignedly. The dead cannot gather strength, so cry for life, and while yet without strength, trust that Christ died for the ungodly. Amen.
