We join with you in prayer for your sister and we understand how alarming it is to get that call from the hospital when you are 1000 miles away and feel helpless to provide the answers they need. It is completely understandable that you panicked, and we want to encourage you that even in that moment of fear God was and is present with both you and your sister.

We are reminded that God knows our history even more fully than any medical chart, for Your eyes saw my unformed substance. In your book they were all written, the days that were ordained for me, when as yet there was none of them Psalm 139:16. He knew your sister before she was born, He knew her heart before her first open heart surgery as an infant, and He knows her need right now. We also take comfort that He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3 and that He has promised But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17.

We also pray for you as you felt that panic. God calls us to bring our anxiety to Him, for In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. And He reminds us Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. Even from a distance, you can trust Him to be right there in that hospital room.

We lift up this whole situation together in Jesus name, for it is only through Him we have access to the Father and it is in His name we pray with confidence.

Father, we come before You together in the name of Jesus and we lift up this dear sister to You. You formed her heart and You sustained her through open heart surgery as a baby and through all the days since. We ask for Your healing hand upon her now, for Your peace to guard her heart and mind, and for wisdom for every doctor and nurse caring for her. We pray that You would make a way for her medical history to be made available quickly, whether through her daughter who is nearby, through her doctor's records, or through the hospital's efforts, so that the medical team has what they need to treat her well. We pray for her daughter, that You would give her clarity and strength to help her mother in this time. And we pray for this sister who called from far away, that You would replace panic with Your perfect peace, and help her to Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding Proverbs 3:5. Let her feel Your nearness even across the miles and know that You are in control. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus Christ our Lord, amen.

We encourage you to continue to trust the Lord with your sister's care, to stay in contact with her daughter as you are able so she can help provide that history directly to the hospital, and to ask the hospital about contacting her primary doctor for records if needed. God is able to work through all of these means for her good. We are continuing to hold your sister and you in prayer for complete healing and peace.

We heard the worry in your note getting that call from ### miles away. It makes sense you felt panicked when the hospital asked for family history you don't keep track of, especially with your sister's heart history going back to when she was a baby.

You did a caring thing to point them toward her daughter right there in the same city. She is likely the best person to help fill in recent details, and it is also normal that records do not always follow a person from office to office, so hospitals often still need family to help connect the pieces. Please don't carry guilt for not having dates and charts memorized.

If it would help you feel a little less helpless from a distance, one simple step we have seen help is to jot down the few things you do remember about your sister's heart condition and early surgery, even just in your own words, and text that to her daughter or to the contact person at the hospital so they have it in one place. You can also let the hospital know her daughter is the local family contact for history questions going forward. Then keep your phone nearby and let the medical team do the searching they know how to do.

We are keeping your sister and her daughter and you in prayer.

Father, we lift this sister to You and ask for wisdom for the doctors and nurses caring for her, for clarity as they gather the history they need, and for Your peace to guard her family across these many miles. Comfort her and give her loved ones rest tonight as they wait. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer for your sister has been heard and we join you in bringing her before the throne of grace at this anxious hour.

It is natural that you panicked when the hospital called from a thousand miles away, and that you felt helpless being so far distant. Have you not found that the very anxiety which arises through being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. Our Lord said to His disciples, Let not your heart be troubled, and He says the same to His people in every age. In the world you shall have tribulation, but He has not closed His eyes, nor yet His heart, toward His children.

We will pray that the Lord, who is the Healer of heart wounds, will watch over your sister. He knows her frame altogether, for she was born with these infirmities of the heart and He preserved her through open heart surgery when she was less than a year old, and He has kept her to this day. Man keeps records and charts, and we pray those records may be found and that her daughter who is near at hand may be able to supply what is needed, and that the physicians may have wisdom to care for her well. Yet above all we remember that the Lord knows what is in the heart and what the body needs, and that He is able to give help where our knowledge fails.

We pray also for you, that you may be kept from an anxious and doubtful mind concerning these temporal things, and be enabled to cry unto God most high and to rest simply and alone upon Christ with your whole heart. It is the heart which grace wins and which God claims, and when sorrow swells the laden breast, one heart only, a broken heart, can feel the sinner's woe, and one heart only, the bleeding heart of Jesus, can staunch its wound.

So we commend your sister to that honored Healer who binds up the brokenhearted, asking that He would lay His healing hand upon her heart, guide the hands of those who treat her, comfort her and her daughter, and grant you peace in knowing that though everything else should melt away, His mercy remains, and He has a city that has foundations, whose Builder and Maker is God.

We lift her and you together to the Father, asking in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, who alone is our salvation and our hope, that His will of mercy and healing be done, and that you both may feel His presence near. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your concern for your sister a thousand miles away has been heard, and your panic in that moment is understandable. To receive a call from the hospital asking for medical history you do not have at hand, while knowing she was born with heart trouble and had open heart surgery before she was a year old, would trouble any loving heart.

We will pray for her now, and we encourage you to continue to pray yourself, even in quiet thought where you are. Scripture shows us that Moses prayed without a sound and God said, Why do you cry to me, and Hannah prayed with her voice not heard and God answered her, and Abel's blood cried out though his lips were silent. You do not need to be in the same city or the same room for God to hear you. Even as you go about your day you can lift your heart to God and He hears the contrite heart that cries to Him.

We also remember that the prayers of the saints have great power when joined with repentance and a sincere turning to God. Do not only look to others to pray for you, but bring your own supplication to the Lord with faith in Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we come to the Father and find mercy.

We pray that the Lord will give wisdom to the doctors and nurses caring for her, that they will be able to gather the records they need, whether from her own doctors or through her daughter who lives nearby, and that the history of her heart will be made clear to them quickly. We ask the Lord to guard her heart and her life, to calm her and to calm you, and to grant peace that passes understanding to your family in this time of distance and worry.

Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, we bring this dear sister before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. You know her body and her heart from birth, You saw her in her first surgery and You see her now in this hospital. We ask for Your healing hand upon her, for skill and clarity for those who treat her, and for provision of every piece of information they need. Comfort her and comfort her family far away, and draw each heart to trust and repentance and hope in Christ alone. Grant that whatever the outcome, Your name would be glorified and Your mercy known. In the name of Jesus we ask this, Amen.

Continue to cast your cares upon Him, and keep seeking Him in prayer.
