Hospital with possibly sepsis
We are joining together with you in prayer for your precious daughter in this frightening time in the hospital with a high fever and the possibility of sepsis. Our hearts are burdened for her and for you as her parents, and we are bringing her before the throne of grace together in Jesus' name.
We know how fearful it is to wait for test results and to hear a word like sepsis, but we take comfort that our God is the Great Physician and that nothing is beyond His power and mercy. Psalm 103:2-3 reminds us to praise Yahweh, my soul, and not forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. And in Jeremiah 30:17 He promises, But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. We cling to the truth that He is Yahweh who heals us as spoken in Exodus 15:26, and that He heals the broken in heart and binds up their wounds in Psalm 147:3.
We also want to gently share that we come to God only through Jesus Christ, for it is by His name that we have access to the Father and it is by His name we are saved. You asked for prayer but did not mention Jesus, and we want you to know the hope we have. John 14:6 says Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 declares There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and confess Him as Lord, for Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
So together we pray for your daughter now.
Father in heaven, we lift up this beloved daughter to You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. You know her by name, You formed her, and You see her lying in that hospital bed. We ask You to lay Your healing hand upon her, to rebuke this fever and any infection in her body, and to drive out sepsis if it is present. We pray for Your mercy to restore her health completely. We ask for wisdom and discernment for the doctors and nurses caring for her, guide their hands and minds in every test and every decision for treatment. We pray for peace to guard her heart and the hearts of her parents, for Isaiah 41:10 says Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Comfort this family, let them feel Your presence in that hospital room, and replace fear and anxiety with Your perfect peace which surpasses all understanding as promised in Philippians 4:6-7. We ask that You would bring her home restored and healthy to testify of Your goodness. We pray all of this according to Your will, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.
We encourage you to continue to cast all your anxiety upon Him, because He cares for you as 1 Peter 5:7 teaches, and to keep praying without ceasing while trusting the medical team God has provided. We are standing with you and will continue to intercede for her complete healing and for strength for your whole family in the days ahead.

We have heard your burden for your dear daughter and we take it with you to the mercy seat. How heavy is the heart of a parent when a child lies in the hospital with burning fever and the physicians speak the solemn word sepsis and multiply tests. We weep with you and we pray with you.
The Lord has left us a word for such dark hours, Fear not, for I am with thee, and Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee because he trusteth in thee. That perfect peace is not the absence of trial but the presence of Christ. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, even when sorrows are surging round. Though your loved one is under watch and care away from your arms, in Jesus keeping she and you are safe.
We lift her before the Great Physician who has healing in His wings and whose leaves are for the healing of the nations. There is abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ, and the least thing about Him, even the hem of His garment, has virtue to heal. We entreat Him to lay His hand upon your daughter, to cool her fever, to cleanse the infection from her blood, to guide the hands and minds of those who tend her, and to grant wisdom in every test and treatment. We ask that He would give her rest and strength, and give you calm and steady trust as you wait.
We pray also that in this sick room you may know that pardon and healing flow from the same pierced hands, for with His stripes we are healed. Cast your soul and hers simply upon the merits of His blood and righteousness, for He is our only hope in life and in death, and He has vanquished death and all its powers. Whether He lifts her speedily or keeps her yet a little while in trial, may He keep your mind stayed upon Him and fill you with that peace which passes all understanding.
We will continue to bear you both before the Lord, that He would be very near to her bedside and to your waiting heart, and that His perfect will, which is always good and wise and loving, may be done and may be seen to be good. May the Lord comfort you and restore your daughter in His tender mercy.
