Beloved of All
In America, hoping midterms limit Trump's control for his last two years. In Canada, hoping for not another Canada Post strike; was two postal strikes two years in a row, already. Hoping for a parcel on Friday or the following Monday. Also, hope MaiD (Assistant Suicide) in Canada, discontinues.

Courageous mediation saves others and demands you risk everything for what is right.
We have heard your heart and we join with you in bringing these hopes before the Lord, for we know that true hope is not found in political outcomes or circumstances but in God alone. We are reminded that hope that is seen is not hope, and we are called to set our hope fully on Him. Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope in the power of the Holy Spirit Romans 15:13. We pray that your hope would be anchored in Christ first, above any election or parcel or labor dispute.

We bring the nation of America and the coming midterms before the Lord together. We understand the desire for checks and balances and for righteous leadership, but we are taught not to put our ultimate trust in princes or in political power, but in the Lord who rules over all. The king's heart is in Yahweh's hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires Proverbs 21:1 and He changes the times and the seasons. He removes kings and sets up kings Daniel 2:21. We pray for Your will to be done in the midterms and in every office, that You would raise up leaders who will fear You, love justice, and govern with wisdom and restraint. We pray for President Trump and for every elected official, for Congress, and for all in authority, as we are instructed to pray. We exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence 1 Timothy 2:1-2. Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God Romans 13:1. We ask that whether through limiting or expanding any administration's control, You would guide this nation toward righteousness, repentance, and peace, for blessed is the nation whose God is Yahweh Psalm 33:12.

We also lift up Canada before You, and this practical concern about another Canada Post strike and the parcel you are waiting for on Friday or Monday. We know these small anxieties can weigh heavily, and You care about even the details of our lives. We pray for labor relations in Canada, for fairness and understanding between workers and management, that there would be no need for another strike and that services would continue without disruption. We ask for patience and provision while you wait, and we trust that You will supply every need. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. We pray that this parcel would arrive safely and in good time if it is Your will, and that You would guard our hearts from frustration and help us to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:33.

We stand with you most earnestly in your hope that MAID, medical assistance in dying, would be discontinued in Canada, and we must speak clearly about this. We believe life is sacred from conception to natural death, created in Your image, and only You have the authority to give and to take away. God created man in his own image Genesis 1:27 and you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb Psalm 139:13. You have said you shall not murder Exodus 20:13 and we are taught that in His hand is the life of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind Job 12:10. Therefore we rebuke the culture of death and the lie that assisted suicide is compassion or dignity. We believe it grieves Your heart and devalues the life You have given. We choose life together, for You have set before us life and death, the blessing and the curse, therefore choose life Deuteronomy 30:19. We pray together that You would move upon the lawmakers, courts, and medical profession in Canada to turn away from this practice, to protect the vulnerable, the elderly, the ill, and the discouraged, and to instead offer true care, comfort, palliative support, and hope. We pray that this law would be repealed and discontinued and that Canada would again honor the sanctity of life.

We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently share that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and that our prayers are heard. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me John 14:6 and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. We have all sinned and need His grace, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved Romans 10:9. We pray that you know Him personally as Lord and Savior, for our hope is not in America or Canada or any system, but in Christ alone.

Father, we come before You together in the name of Jesus Christ. We place America and its midterms, Canada and its postal service, and every life touched by MAID into Your hands. Let Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Grant wisdom to voters and to leaders, peace to those waiting and worrying, and a renewed reverence for life across Canada. Fill us with Your hope, guard us with Your peace, and draw us closer to Your Son, in whose mighty and saving name we pray. Amen.

We hear how many different hopes you are carrying right now, from the big picture for both countries to the very personal wait for a parcel at the end of this week.

It makes sense that all of these would weigh on you together. When national decisions and policies feel heavy, even a small uncertainty like mail delivery can feel bigger, especially after two years of disruptions.

For the parcel you are waiting for Friday or Monday, we encourage you to keep an eye on the tracking if you have it and stay in touch with the sender so you have a backup plan if there is a delay. For the larger concerns on your heart about leadership in the US and the MAID law and labour stability in Canada, it can help to stay informed in measured ways and to share those burdens with trusted community rather than carrying them alone.

We are joining you in bringing all of this to the Lord and asking for His mercy and wisdom over our nations and for peace in your own heart as you wait.

Father, in Jesus' name we lift these hopes to You. We ask for wisdom for leaders and voters in America, for fairness and stability in Canada, for protection of life and dignity for the vulnerable, and for Your provision over this parcel and every practical need. Give our friend steadiness and hope in You in the days ahead. Amen.

Your hopes and anxieties have been heard, and they are brought before the throne of grace where there is One who keeps in perfect peace those whose minds are stayed upon Him.

There is much in this world to press upon the heart, thrones and governments, the daily bread of work and post, and the great sorrow of how life and death are regarded among us. The Scripture says, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. That peace is not found in the turn of an election or in the punctuality of a parcel, but in Christ Himself, whose blood whispers peace within. It is a present possession which may be enjoyed even when duties throng and sorrows surge round, for to do the will of Jesus, this is rest.

Concerning the governance of nations, we are taught to look first to the providence of God. Providence is like a wheel, and though the rim turns and grinds, there is an axle in the midst which never moves. That axle is the Lord Himself, unchanging and full of eyes, not blind fate but a wise and holy care which arranges all our places and keeps time with itself. We do well therefore to pray not for a party or a person to prevail, but for that which God commands, that supplications be made for all in authority, that justice may be done, that righteousness may be upheld, that the Gospel may have free course, and that we may lead quiet and peaceable lives in all godliness and honesty. We will pray that the Lord in His wisdom will ordain what is best for the restraint of evil and the good of the people, and that your heart may be kept from that anxiety which unfits a man to meet his difficulty, learning instead to rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him.

For the daily care of the strike and the parcel you await, remember how punctual providence always is. The same God who numbers the hairs of our heads watches the minutiae of our lives. The farmer sleeps but his wheat is growing, the mariner sleeps but wind and wave carry his boat, so the Lord never ceases His care by night or by day. It is right to desire honest labour and faithful service and the timely provision of what we need, and we will pray that the Lord will grant peace in that labour and order these lesser matters according to His goodness. Yet waiting upon the Lord breeds peace within the soul, and when a man is perfectly at rest within, he cares little for trials or foes. May you be given grace to wait as a servant waits upon his master, anxious to know His will, and as a traveler waits upon his guide, content to let His hand steer the course.

And for that last burden, the practice of assisted death in Canada, your hope is in keeping with the Word of God which teaches the sanctity of life, that life is the gift of God and death is an enemy which Christ Himself has vanquished. False peace cries peace, peace where there is no peace, but true peace comes through the blood which has made full atonement. We will pray that the Lord will have mercy upon the land, that laws would again honour the life He gives, that the suffering and the despairing would find not a hastened death but the comfort and hope of Christ, who says it is enough, earths struggles soon shall cease, and calls His people to Heavens perfect peace. We will pray for the vulnerable, for physicians, for legislators, and for the church to speak the truth in love and to show the compassion of Christ to those in great affliction.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, Thou art the God of all peace, and peace is that which Jesus bought with His blood and the Spirit works within. Keep this soul in perfect peace, with mind stayed on Thee. Rule over the nations according to Thy providence, grant to those in authority wisdom and justice, and to Thy people quietness to live unto Thee. Provide for daily needs, still anxious thoughts, and teach waiting that strengthens courage. Have mercy where life is lightly esteemed, and let the hope of the Gospel shine, that many may seek Christ first and find in Him that peace which passes all understanding. In the name of Jesus our peace, Amen.

Seek Christ first, and peace will come next, for He is our peace and He will keep you till He calls you to that perfect peace above.
