Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You pour out many requests, and that is good, for our Lord bids us to ask. Yet do not let the asking be without a foundation of active faith. The woman of Canaan cried out for her daughter, and Christ tested her, yet she would not cease. “Great is thy faith,” He said, “be it unto thee even as thou wilt.” That word was not flattery; great indeed was the power of her faith, and she contributed not a little to the healing. Do you likewise persist in trust, and do not waver.

For the single mother and her two boys fleeing danger, remember that the wind blows where it lists, and none can hold it. Even so the Spirit of God moves to make a way where there seems no path. Do what you can with all diligence, but do not be over-anxious. The same Lord who touched Peter’s mother-in-law and quenched her fever and immediately restored her full strength, so that no lingering weakness remained, He is able to provide shelter and safety swiftly. But when you have asked, go and act as you are able; for prayer without works is dead.

As for your friend facing surgery, and your son’s heart palpitations and the depression that weighs on him, consider that He who healed the blind man sent him to wash in Siloam. The miracle required his cooperation. Urge your son, then, to do what lies in his power: to eat healthily, to move his body, but above all to exercise his spiritual gifting. That is no small medicine for a troubled soul. And do not think that because you do not see immediate change, nothing is happening. A tree may receive ten strokes and not fall, yet afterward one blow brings it down, because the earlier blows prepared the root. So it is with hearing the word and persisting in prayer. You have planted many petitions; now water them with thanksgiving and patient endurance.

About the student loan, the repairs, the need for order in your home, let your mind be instructed by the spectacle of the poor who sit before the doors of the church. When you see the maimed, the aged, the blind, you learn to abate your lofty spirit. Many carry heavier burdens, and yet God feeds them. He who made you a son or daughter of God by adoption, He who let a slave be father to Him that He might make the Lord Father to you, will He not provide what is needful? Do not let the rate of a loan crush your hope. Seek wise counsel, work diligently, and then cast the care upon Him. And the decluttering and giving to charity: that is a small thing, but it trains the soul to hold possessions loosely. Do it cheerfully.

The end to generational illnesses: here is a deep work. As it was said, the hearts of the fathers shall be restored to the sons. What does this mean but that the Jewish people’s mind, being fathers to the apostles, would be brought back to the doctrines of their sons? Even so, God can restore what has been broken in your lineage. Do not only ask for bodily healing; pray for the heart of the fathers to turn to the true faith, for where the Spirit moves, no law of nature can restrain the operation.

For your daughter, you ask protection, favor, safety, family unity, success in school, a niche in work. You have asked well. But remember that you learned Christ not for these temporal things alone. If so be that you heard Him, it is not a matter of doubt but of strong affirmation: you have been taught to seek first the kingdom. Let her be encouraged to worship, as the healed man did when he saw Jesus. Few of those who were healed fell at His feet, but that man, keeping silence on all other points, simply worshiped. Teach her that the highest protection is a heart that bows before the Son of God.

Finally, you ask to be a blessing and to have a productive day. This is a righteous petition. But let your productivity begin with mercy. As you enter the church and see the poor, the demoniacs, the distressed, let it humble you and open your hand. For he who prays with an arrogant mind will not be heard. Go out, then, and be a blessing in deed. Do not merely drive safely, see that your presence on the road is a mercy to others. Do not merely repair your house, make it a refuge for the weary. And when you have done all, say, “We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty.”

He that hath ears to hear, let him hear. You are not asking for stones but for bread. The Father will not give a serpent to those who ask for a fish. Only do not let your requests be a substitute for obedience. Arise, act in faith, and the peace of Christ which passes understanding will keep your heart.

What a mother’s heart you have, carrying so many concerns before the Lord. The requests tumble out, safety, provision, healing, direction, and every one of them touches the very practical realities of life. It’s right to pour these out to the Father who knows our needs before we ask.

As you pray, remember that God’s deepest work always begins within. When we face an emergency or an impossible rate or a frightening diagnosis, our temptation is to fixate on the outward situation. But Scripture keeps turning our attention back to the heart, because out of it flow all the issues of life. Safety is not finally in what we can arrange, a strong lock, a permit, a human plan. True safety belongs to the Lord. A horse may be prepared for battle, but deliverance is His. Ask Him to guard your heart from the corrosion of fear and to make the inner rooms of your life a stronghold of trust. He is the one who keeps your soul, and He knows.

Your longing for your children runs deep: protection, restored family unity, success in school and work, physical healing, emotional wholeness. Pray for them, yes, but also pray that God would capture their hearts. When a child’s heart becomes wise, a parent’s own heart rejoices. Wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord, and that’s where real safety and purpose take root. It’s not enough for them to know right answers in their heads; the truth must sink into the will, the seat of choice, so that they love what God loves. So ask not only for the palpitations to cease or the depression to lift, but that the Spirit would write God’s law on their hearts in a way that reorders their desires, their eating, their use of gifts. The Lord changes us from the inside out.

In your own walk, be quick to invite the prayer of Psalm 139: “Search me, O God, and know my heart.” A heart can be deceitful, and we can honor God with our lips while slipping into autopilot. Before you tackle the clutter in the house or the list of repairs, consider the clutter and unspoken burdens of the heart. Generational illnesses, whether physical or patterns of thinking, often point to deep places that only God can cleanse and reframe. He is not limited by family history. Bring those unspoken needs into the light and ask Him to lead you in the way everlasting.

The loan, the repairs, the desire to be a blessing and have productive days, these are good things to ask for. But guard your heart against the narrow place of anxiety. When the heart is enlarged by His Spirit, it breathes freely and sees resources and opportunities that fear couldn’t imagine. He cares about the organ needing surgery and the surgeons’ hands, about the single mother and her boys needing shelter from an addicted ex, about every traveler on the road. And He cares about you, the one praying, that your heart not grow weary but stay tender, forgiving, and full of compassion.

So continue to pour out your requests. And let that very act remind you that the One who receives them is at work in the hidden places, training your heart to rest in His faithfulness. As you go through this day, may the preparations of your heart be from Him, and may your lips speak life to everyone you touch. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer over these past days. It has been our honor to lift up your family’s needs before our Heavenly Father—the safety of the single mother and her boys, the healing of your friend facing surgery, the burden of student loans, the protection of travelers, the provision for home repairs, and the deep desires for order, generosity, and freedom from generational struggles. We have also prayed earnestly for your daughter’s continued favor, your son’s physical and emotional healing, and your family’s unity and spiritual growth.

If any of these prayers have been answered, we would rejoice to hear your praise report so we may celebrate God’s faithfulness together. If some needs remain unmet, please know we are still here to stand with you. You are welcome to post this request again, and we will continue to intercede on your behalf, trusting that our Lord hears and moves in His perfect timing.

May the peace of Christ guard your hearts as you seek Him, and may His grace sustain you in every area of your life. We pray all these things in the powerful and precious name of Jesus. Amen.
