🧎🏽‍♂️"We bow our knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, asking He would grant us, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power and might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in our hearts' through faith; that we, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints, what is the width and length and depth and height — to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that we may be filled with all the fullness of God. Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen, Eph 3:14-20."

We lift up this powerful passage from Ephesians 3:14-20, and we join with you in seeking the fullness of God’s strength and love. The apostle Paul’s prayer here is a profound declaration of our dependence on the Holy Spirit to empower us, to root us in Christ’s love, and to fill us with the fullness of God. This is not merely a request for temporary comfort or fleeting emotion, it is a cry for transformation, for the indwelling of Christ in our hearts, and for the supernatural ability to grasp the vastness of His love.

Let us first acknowledge that this prayer is only possible because of Jesus Christ. It is through His sacrifice on the cross, His resurrection, and His ascension that we have access to the Father. Without Christ, there is no dwelling of the Spirit, no comprehension of divine love, and no filling of God’s fullness. Jesus Himself said, "No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). If you have not surrendered your life to Him, if you have not confessed Him as Lord and believed in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, we urge you to do so now. Salvation is found in no other name (Acts 4:12), and it is the foundation upon which all other spiritual blessings are built.

Now, let us pray this prayer together, not as a mere recitation, but as a desperate plea for the Holy Spirit to move in power:

"Heavenly Father, we bow our knees before You, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. We ask You, according to the riches of Your glory, to grant us to be strengthened with power through Your Spirit in our inner being. May Christ dwell in our hearts through faith, so that we, being rooted and grounded in love, may have strength to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth of Your love, yes, to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, that we may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Father, we confess that without You, we are weak, our understanding is limited, and our hearts are prone to wander. But You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us. To You be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen."

This prayer is not just for personal edification, it is for the entire body of Christ. We are called to be strengthened together, to grow together in love, and to display the manifold wisdom of God to the world (Ephesians 3:10). If you are struggling with feelings of spiritual dryness, weakness, or a lack of understanding of God’s love, know that you are not alone. The same Spirit who raised Christ from the dead lives in you (Romans 8:11), and He is more than able to revive, renew, and empower you.

We must also address any hindrances to this prayer being answered. Are there areas of your life where you have not fully surrendered to Christ? Are there sins, whether of commission or omission, that are grieving the Holy Spirit? The Scripture warns, "Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption" (Ephesians 4:30). If there is unconfessed sin, bitterness, unforgiveness, or rebellion in your heart, we urge you to repent and turn back to God. His love is not conditional, but our experience of it is often hindered by our disobedience.

For those who are in Christ but feel distant from Him, we encourage you to press in. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you (James 4:8). Spend time in His Word, in prayer, and in fellowship with other believers. The love of Christ is not something we merely understand intellectually, it is something we experience through relationship with Him.

Finally, let us remember that this prayer is not just for our own benefit. As we are filled with the fullness of God, we are called to overflow into the lives of others. We are to be ambassadors of Christ, demonstrating His love, power, and grace to a world in desperate need. May we not be satisfied with a shallow, superficial faith, but may we hunger and thirst for the fullness of God, that we might be vessels of His glory.

To Him who is able to do far more abundantly than all we ask or imagine, according to His power at work within us, be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

We join you in this prayer, and we find ourselves returning to it again and again. It’s one of the few places in Scripture where we’re given the actual words of someone on his knees for the church, and they stretch what we can even imagine: strength in our innermost self, Christ settling into our hearts, being rooted so deeply in love that we begin to grasp how immeasurable that love really is, and in the end being filled with all the fullness of God. It’s staggering, and it’s exactly what the Spirit longs to do in us.

What helps us most is to remember that Paul prayed this for people who were already believers, not for starters, but for those already in the family. The filling and the strengthening he asks for belong to the ordinary, steady life of faith, not only a mountaintop moment. The Spirit works these things in us as we give Him room day by day: turning our attention toward Christ, admitting our need, sitting quietly with a phrase of this passage until it begins to live inside us. Sometimes that’s less like a lightning strike and more like a slow sunrise, but it changes everything.

One simple thing we’ve found helpful is to take a week with this prayer and linger over just one part each day, maybe Monday “strengthened with power,” Tuesday “Christ dwelling in your hearts,” Wednesday “rooted in love,” and so on. Not as a checklist, but as a conversation with the Father about what we really long for.

Let’s bow with you now.

Father, we ask with this dear friend that You would strengthen them in their inner being through Your Spirit, that Christ would make His home in their heart as they trust in Him, and that they would be anchored so firmly in love that they can begin to take in the vastness of Your love for them. Fill them with all Your fullness, far beyond all we can ask or imagine, and do in them what only You can do, to Your glory, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Amen. Father please do this for them, us and all in need. Thank you and praise you. In Jesus name. Amen

You have quoted a prayer that is itself an unending ladder of desire, Paul bowing his knees for what no man can reach by his own strength. Mark well how every clause hangs upon the Spirit's might: "strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man." This is where the secret lies. The love of Christ is not measured out to the keenest intellect or the busiest hand, but to the heart made strong by the indwelling Comforter. We cannot climb to grasp the dimensions of that love until He draws us, as the text from the Song whispers, "Draw me, we will run after You." The preparation for holy knowledge is a sense of utter lameness and a cry for divine traction.

You may study the doctrines of grace and that is well, for the bottom of the ladder is firm. But standing there you scarcely glimpse the landscape that wakes the saints to rapture. Some have gone further, finding the honeycomb with the honey, Christ accepting even the infirmity mixed with their devotion. Yet this prayer of yours presses beyond all that into the very fullness of God. And here our helplessness becomes our best pleading. The Lord must direct your heart into the love of God, for the heart is a helm no human hand can steer. Let that word dwell in you, not skimmed over, not ticked off, but soaked into the inner man as dew into fleece. The novel-reader weeps over fiction because the story has entered her. Shall we not let the living Word penetrate until Christ's love constrains every affection?

Remember, the love you seek to comprehend is the love that gave Himself for you. He claims His vineyard twice over: "My vineyard, which is Mine, is before Me." He loves you with a specialty unlike the general benevolence He bears the world. That love first kindled yours, for "we love Him because He first loved us." When your heart feels cold and the dimensions of width and length seem a sealed book, go back to that. Stand at the cross and measure if you can the depth of His condescension. The honeycomb of His grace is sweet, though our frames are full of wax and imperfection. He gathers it with His own hand and counts it precious.

Covet the topmost rungs, but know that every step is of grace from first to last. The power that works in us does exceeding abundantly above what we ask or think, so even this prayer you have breathed will be outdone by the answer. Yield yourself to His drawing, let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, and trust the Spirit to enlarge your heart until it becomes a vessel filled to overflowing.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have set before us the great and trembling prayer of the Apostle, that you be strengthened by the Spirit in the inner man, that Christ dwell in your heart through faith, that you be rooted and grounded in love and able to comprehend the breadth and length and depth and height of His love, and so be filled with all the fullness of God. This is no small thing you seek, but the very summit of the Christian life, the end for which all commandments are given. For love is both root and pinnacle: if you love the Lord your God with your whole heart, and your neighbor as yourself, the whole work of virtue is briefly comprehended. But let no one think this love is a gentle affection only. It must be rooted and grounded, so that no blast of tribulation or lure of ease can overturn it.

Yet how shall Christ dwell in a heart that is cramped by the belly’s god and the softness that destroyed Sodom, the Israelites in the wilderness, and the rich man now burning in the furnace? Make room for Him. Cast out the incurable disease of luxury and inordinate lust, for if fullness of bread wrought such evil, what of our delicacies? Open your heart; He does not ask the whole of God from you alone, but demands faith and intense love, for He who wrought so great things for us never forsakes those who are afflicted for His sake.

Despair not if you have stumbled; let no one wallowing in vice lose hope, for the harlot often passes the virtuous when she returns with earnest love. God is not as man; He reproaches not the past when you repent and rivet your heart to His fear. But let those who stand in virtue slumber not, for confidence has hurled down kings and sons of God. To comprehend the dimensions of Christ’s love, you must keep ever before your eyes the resurrection and the judgment, where that love was manifested to quicken the dead and to give the Son authority to execute judgment upon those who love Him not. This is the height and depth: that while we were at infinite distance, He brought love for neighbor into comparison with love for Himself, like unto it. Is this not astonishing beyond all miracles?

Therefore, flee the pestilence of sin; bind yourself to the fear of God; love all, even enemies, for this renders us like God, far more than working signs. Then shall the Spirit strengthen you with power, and He who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all you ask or think will fill you with His fullness, until you attain to the good things promised, by the grace and love toward man of our Lord Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.
