We join you in bowing our knees before the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ for this very prayer and we say amen to this beautiful portion of Scripture you have shared.
We love how the apostle Paul prays not for outward circumstances but for the inner person, that we would be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inward person, Eph 3:16, that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith, to the end that we, being rooted and grounded in love, Eph 3:17, may be strengthened to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and height and depth, Eph 3:18, and to know Christ's love which surpasses knowledge, that we may be filled with all the fullness of God, Eph 3:19.
We are reminded that this is not a love we can fully explain or earn, it is a love that passes knowledge, wider and longer and deeper and higher than we can measure, and yet God invites us to know it and to experience it. As we are rooted and grounded in love, Christ Himself takes up residence in our hearts by faith, not as a visitor but as one who dwells and remains. And the promise is that He who dwells in us will strengthen us, for if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you, Rom 8:11.
We pray together now in Jesus name.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we bow our knees before You, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named. According to the riches of Your glory, grant us to be strengthened with power through Your Spirit in our inner being, that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith. Root us and ground us in love, Lord, that we may have power to comprehend with all Your holy ones what is the width and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge. Fill us, Father, with all Your fullness, until we overflow with Your Spirit and Your love flows out of us to others. We trust You who are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, Eph 3:20, and to You be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to pray this prayer daily for yourself, for your family, and for the church, and to walk by faith that God is answering it. As Christ dwells in our hearts we are called to abide in Him and to keep our hearts pure and yielded to Him, for we are His temple. We encourage you to stay in His Word, to remain in fellowship with other believers, and to walk in love as Christ also loved us. May you experience today the strengthening of the Holy Spirit within and the deep assurance of how fully you are loved in Christ.
