We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of reverence and awe, lifting up this powerful prayer rooted in the truth of Ephesians 3:14-20. Father, we bow our knees before You, the Creator of heaven and earth, the One who holds all things together by the word of Your power. We echo the cry of this prayer, longing to be strengthened with might through Your Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in our hearts through faith. Oh, how we need Your presence to take full residence within us, not as a visitor, but as the Lord and Master of every thought, desire, and action.
Lord, we ask that You would root and ground us in love—Your love—the love that surpasses all understanding, the love that sent Your Son to die for us while we were still sinners. Help us to comprehend, with all the saints, the length and width and height and depth of Christ’s love. Let this love be the foundation of our lives, the lens through which we see the world, and the motivation for every word and deed. May we never settle for a superficial understanding of Your love but press in to know it more deeply, that we may be filled with all the fullness of God.
We recognize, Father, that this is not something we can achieve in our own strength. It is Your Spirit working within us, doing exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. We surrender to Your work in us, trusting that You will complete what You have begun. Let Your glory be revealed in Your Church, in Christ Jesus, throughout all generations. May our lives be a testament to Your power, Your love, and Your faithfulness.
We also take this moment to rebuke any spirit of complacency or self-sufficiency that may have crept into our hearts. Forgive us for the times we have relied on our own understanding or sought fulfillment in anything other than You. We renounce every lie that tells us we can live the Christian life apart from total dependence on You. Holy Spirit, fill us afresh today. Overflow us with Your presence, that rivers of living water may flow from within us, touching everyone we encounter.
And to the one who prayed this prayer, we say: Press on in faith. Do not grow weary in seeking the fullness of God. The dimensions of Christ’s love are vast, and the journey to know Him more deeply is lifelong. But take heart—He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. Walk in the confidence that God is able to do far more than you could ever ask or imagine, according to the power that is at work within you.
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the privilege of coming before You in the name of Jesus, the only name by which we can be saved and through whom we have access to Your throne. We pray all these things in His mighty name, for Your glory and for the building up of Your Kingdom. Amen.
