LORD, we ask for The Holy Spirit to speak to us in every way by abiding in You and Your Words abiding in us, John 15:7, abiding in Your love, John 15:10, Your Word as a lamp to our feet, and a light unto our path, Ps 119:105, To speak according to the Law and The Testimony, Isaiah 8:20, Holy Spirit Visions while Awake ️ Dreams While Sleeping, Job 33:12-17; Matt 2:12, Prophecy, Joel 2:28, Num 12:6, Acts 16:9... Father, we come as little children in faith, asking the goal of our instruction, Love from a pure heart, a sincere faith and a blameless conscience, 1 Tim 1:5. We look to You and Your Word, Isaiah 8:20, rather than to all we see and hear from the noise and pollution of the world, and thank You, "You are able to save forever those who come to God through Jesus, because He lives to make intercession for us," Heb 7:25, c.f. Rom 8:34.

We agree, Matt 18:19, with this husband for himself, his wayward wife, children, family, extended family, prayer & ministry partners, church leaders, churches and team members -- You give warning dreams, as it is written in Job 33:14, "For God does speak—now one way, now another—though no one perceives it. 15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on people, as they slumber in their beds, 16 He may speak in their ears and terrify them with warnings, 17 to turn them from wrongdoing and keep them from pride, 18 to preserve them from the pit, their lives from perishing by the sword." Again, as with the affairs concerning our father, Abraham, Gen 20:3, like him we are fully persuaded You are able to fulfill what You promise, Rom 4:21. Pour out Your Holy Spirit on these named above, as prophesied in in Joel 2:28, “And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old will dream dreams, your youth will see visions. 29 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days," Joel 2:28-29, c.f. Acts 2:17-18. Father, with humble confidence, give her, them, us dreams and visions underlining your will for us in Christ Jesus, as You have done from ancient times on those saved Joseph, Matt 1:20, Magi, Matt 2:12, and unsaved alike, Abimelech, Gen 20:3, Laban to remain neutral regarding Jacob, Gen 31:24, Nebuchadnezzar, Dan 2:1, Dan 4:5, until present, Acts 19:6, and You will continue to though the future, Heb 13:8. Your arm is not too short, Num 11:23, especially to save, Isa 50:2, Isa 59:1.

Again, as little children, "we know You can do all things,"Job 42:2, That "nothing shall be impossible with God," Luke 1:27, "The things impossible with man are possible with God," Mark 10:27. Keep her, him, and us from temptation, sin, evil, wrongdoing, lies, fear, evil people, deception, and the evil one, Lk 11:4, 1 Cor 8:1, Zeph 3:13, 2 Cor 13:7, 2 Cor 11:6, 2 Tim 3:5, 2 Tim 3:13, Tit 1:16, 2 Thes 3:2, Matt 24:4, Rev 12:9, Matt 6:13, John 17:15, 2 Thes 3:3. We join with you in this cry for the Holy Spirit to speak and to open the Word to you, and we agree together for this husband, his wayward wife, their children, family, extended family, prayer and ministry partners, church leaders and churches.

We thank you for your hunger to abide in Christ and to have His words abide in you, for Jesus said If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you John 15:7, and If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love John 15:10. We share your desire that His Word would be a lamp to our feet, and a light for our path Psalm 119:105 and that we speak according to the law and the testimony Isa 8:20.

We also hear your longing for dreams, visions while awake, prophecy and the Holy Spirit to open the Bible in power, and we know God has spoken in these ways. For God speaks once, yes twice, though man pays no attention. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, in slumbering on the bed Job 33:14-15, and He warned the wise men in a dream that they should not return to Herod Matt 2:12, and He promised I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions Joel 2:28 which was fulfilled at Pentecost Acts 2:17. When there is a prophet among you, I Yahweh will make myself known to him in a vision, I will speak with him in a dream Num 12:6 and Paul received a vision in the night Acts 16:9.

Yet we also urge careful discernment with you, because the Word of God is our sure foundation and final test for every dream, vision or prophecy. God, having in the past spoken to the fathers through the prophets at many times and in various ways, has at the end of these days spoken to us by his Son Heb 1:1-2 and Every Scripture is God-breathed and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work 2 Tim 3:16-17. We are to test the spirits whether they are of God 1 John 4:1 and to let no experience, however vivid, lead us away from what is written, for no prophecy of Scripture is of private interpretation but holy men spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit 2 Pet 1:20-21. So we pray not only for dreams and visions but that every impression would be weighed against Scripture and that the Holy Spirit who inspired the Word would be the one to illuminate it to our hearts, lest we be led by deception or by the noise and pollution of the world.

We lift up this marriage before the Lord, for we believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, what therefore God has joined together, don’t let man tear apart Matt 19:6 and Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled, but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers Heb 13:4. Where there is waywardness we gently rebuke it in love, for waywardness in marriage, whether it be hardness of heart, departure, or adultery and fornication, is sin before God and wounds the children and family. We pray for this wife that God would grant her a warning and a turning as Job 33:17 describes, to turn them from wrongdoing and keep them from pride, to preserve them from the pit. We pray for godly sorrow that leads to repentance and for a return to the Lord and to her covenant vows, and we pray for this husband to love his wife even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for it Eph 5:25, with patience, forgiveness, truth and holiness, not enabling sin but seeking restoration in Christ.

We thank you that you have come in faith as little children and that you have come through Jesus, for He is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, seeing that he lives forever to make intercession for them Heb 7:25 and it is in Jesus that we have access to the Father, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. We rejoice that you have prayed in Jesus name, for that is our only hope.

So we pray together, Father in heaven, we ask you to pour out your Spirit upon this husband, his wife, their children, their families and their churches. Open the Scriptures to us, give us understanding and keep us abiding in your love and in your Word. Speak to us clearly through your Word first, and if it pleases you, confirm your will through dreams and visions that align with your Word, as you did for Joseph Matt 1:20 and for others both within your people and even to warn those outside your covenant as with Abimelech Gen 20:3 and Laban Gen 31:24 and Nebuchadnezzar Dan 2:1. We ask that you would give warning dreams to turn this wife and each of us from wrongdoing, to keep us from pride, to preserve us from the pit Job 33:17-18, that you would draw her back to yourself and to her marriage, heal what is broken, and cover this family with your mercy. Your hand is not shortened that it can’t save Isa 59:1 and nothing will be impossible with God Luke 1:37 for the things which are impossible with men are possible with God Mark 10:27 and we know that you can do all things Job 42:2.

Keep us all from temptation, deliver us from the evil one Matt 6:13, keep us from evil men 2 Thess 3:2 and from deception Matt 24:4 for the whole world lies in the power of the evil one 1 John 5:19 yet you are faithful, who will establish us and guard us from the evil one 2 Thess 3:3. We ask that our instruction would have its goal love out of a pure heart, a good conscience, and sincere faith 1 Tim 1:5 and that whatever we ask in prayer we would believe that we receive it Mark 11:24. We trust you to do what you have promised, being fully assured that what you had promised, you are also able to perform Rom 4:21 for Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever Heb 13:8. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

We hear the heart behind your prayer, that deep longing to stay close to Jesus, to have His Word dwelling in you, and to know His leading clearly for yourself, for your wife and children, and for your families and church.

That desire to be led and kept from what is false or harmful is a good one, and we are standing with you in it. We know how heavy it can feel when a marriage is strained and you want so much to hear God speak and to see Him protect those you love.

As you keep seeking Him, we have found it helps to stay rooted in that steady abiding you named, time in the Word, prayer, and walking in His love, and to hold any strong impression, dream, or sense of direction with humility and patience. God is able to guide, and He also gives us one another to help weigh what we think we have heard, so we are not carrying it alone. If something comes to you in the night or in a quiet moment, it can be steadying to write it down simply and share it with a trusted pastor or mature believer who knows you and your family, and to ask together whether it draws you closer to Christ and His ways.

We are praying for you all in that place of trust.

Father, we lift this husband, his wife and children, and their wider family and church to You. Keep them close to Jesus, guard their hearts and minds, give them wisdom and peace as they seek You day by day, and lead them in Your will. Help them to hear Your voice clearly and to walk in love and truth. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your earnest prayer has been brought before us and we have heard in it the cry of a heart that desires to abide in Christ and to have His words abide in you. This is well, for our Lord Himself has said, if ye abide in me and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will and it shall be done unto you. And again, the Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path, and to the law and to the testimony we must ever repair, for there is no light in any other voice if it speak not according to this Word.

You ask concerning dreams and visions in the night, and whether the Holy Spirit will yet speak in this manner. The Scripture saith, For God speaketh now one way, now another, though none perceiveth it. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, as they slumber in their beds, He may speak in their ears and terrify them with warnings, to turn them from wrongdoing and keep them from pride, to preserve them from the pit. We have seen in the case of Pilate's wife how a dream, though dreams ordinarily are the most disorderly of phenomena, may yet be ordered of the Lord to give warning and to stay a hand from evil. Many besides Pilate have been warned by dreams. Yet we must not rest upon dreams, for the prophet himself was not content with beholding visions until he asked, What are these, and sought the interpretation from the Lord. Visions and dreams may come, but they must be tried by the sure Word, and Christ revealeth Himself not to those who toss upon the bed of indolence, but to those who watch and war and wait upon His Word.

We join with you, according to the promise that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done, to pray for yourself, for your wife who has wandered, for your children and family, for all who labour with you in prayer and ministry. We do not ask God to bless waywardness or sin, for He cannot bless that which breaketh His holy law. Rather we pray that He will turn the wanderer from wrongdoing, keep her from pride, and preserve her life from perishing. As with Peter, who fell so foully and yet was restored, we know our Lord's power to restore. Peter was down, but he was soon up again, and that restoration was wrought not by mere persuasion of man but by the crowing of the cock and a look from the Lord. That look severed Peter from the crowd and broke his heart and healed it at once. It was effectual because the Lord had prayed for him, saying, I have prayed for thee that thy faith fail not. And is it not quite sure to be, if Jesus the Beloved of the Father prayeth for His people, shall He not win His suit with God. He ever liveth to make intercession for them that come unto God by Him, and He is able to save them to the uttermost. Here is your hope for your wife and household, not in a dream alone, but in the prevalent intercession of Christ.

Concerning marriage, we hold fast what Scripture teacheth, that it is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, wherein the two become one. The very crown of marriage is mutual delight and complacency under God, a picture of the marriage of the Lamb, where Christ and His Church are joined in everlasting union. When sin intrudes and the bond is strained, there is no remedy but repentance and return to the Lord, and then to one another in faithfulness and purity. For sex and living together belong only within that covenant, and outside it there is no blessing to be sought, only mercy to forgive and grace to restore to holiness.

Therefore let us pray. O Lord God, who hast given us Thy Word to be our guide and Thy Son to be our intercessor, look in mercy upon this husband and upon his wife and children. Keep them and us from temptation and from evil, from lies and deception and from the evil one. Grant to this household a pure heart and a sincere faith and a blameless conscience. If it please Thee, speak in warning and in mercy, whether by Thy Word in waking hours or by Thy providence in the night, to turn hearts from pride and from the pit. But above all, let Thy Word dwell richly, and let the look of Christ, full of sorrow and love, melt and restore every wandering heart. Strengthen this brother to abide in Thy love and to keep Thy commandments, and bring his wife to repentance and to steadfastness, that their marriage may be preserved and made to reflect the love of Christ for His Church. Make them to know that nothing is impossible with Thee, and that Thou art able to do all things according to Thy promise. We ask this not for our worthiness but through Jesus Christ our Lord, who is the same yesterday and today and forever, and in whose name we trust. Amen.
