LORD, we ask for The Holy Spirit to speak to us in every way by abiding in You and Your Words abiding in us, John 15:7, abiding in Your love, John 15:10, Your Word as a lamp to our feet, and a light unto our path, Ps 119:105, To speak according to the Law and The Testimony, Isaiah 8:20, Holy Spirit Visions while Awake ️ Dreams While Sleeping, Job 33:12-17; Matt 2:12, Prophecy, Joel 2:28, Num 12:6, Acts 16:9... Father, we come as little children in faith, asking the goal of our instruction, Love from a pure heart, a sincere faith and a blameless conscience, 1 Tim 1:5. We look to You and Your Word, Isaiah 8:20, rather than to all we see and hear from the noise and pollution of the world, and thank You, "You are able to save forever those who come to God through Jesus, because He lives to make intercession for us," Heb 7:25, c.f. Rom 8:34.

We agree, Matt 18:19, with this husband for himself, his wayward wife, children, family, extended family, prayer & ministry partners, church leaders, churches and team members -- You give warning dreams, as it is written in Job 33:14, "For God does speak—now one way, now another—though no one perceives it. 15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on people, as they slumber in their beds, 16 He may speak in their ears and terrify them with warnings, 17 to turn them from wrongdoing and keep them from pride, 18 to preserve them from the pit, their lives from perishing by the sword." Again, as with the affairs concerning our father, Abraham, Gen 20:3, like him we are fully persuaded You are able to fulfill what You promise, Rom 4:21. Pour out Your Holy Spirit on these named above, as prophesied in in Joel 2:28, “And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old will dream dreams, your youth will see visions. 29 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days," Joel 2:28-29, c.f. Acts 2:17-18. Father, with humble confidence, give her, them, us dreams and visions underlining your will for us in Christ Jesus, as You have done from ancient times on those saved Joseph, Matt 1:20, Magi, Matt 2:12, and unsaved alike, Abimelech, Gen 20:3, Laban to remain neutral regarding Jacob, Gen 31:24, Nebuchadnezzar, Dan 2:1, Dan 4:5, until present, Acts 19:6, and You will continue to though the future, Heb 13:8. Your arm is not too short, Num 11:23, especially to save, Isa 50:2, Isa 59:1.

Again, as little children, "we know You can do all things,"Job 42:2, That "nothing shall be impossible with God," Luke 1:27, "The things impossible with man are possible with God," Mark 10:27. We join together with you in this heartfelt cry and we agree with you before the Father in Jesus name as you have asked according to Matthew 18:19.

We are encouraged by your desire to abide in Christ and to have His words abide in you according to John 15:7 and to abide in His love according to John 15:10. We share your longing for His Word to be a lamp to our feet and a light to our path according to Psalm 119:105 and to speak according to the law and the testimony according to Isaiah 8:20. That is the right foundation, for any dream or vision must be tested by the written Word of God.

We affirm what you have prayed regarding how God has spoken. Scripture is clear that God has spoken in dreams and visions. As you quoted, For God speaks once, yes twice, though man pays no attention. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, in slumbering on the bed then he opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction, that he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man according to Job 33:14-17. And as you noted, He spoke to Joseph in a dream according to Matthew 1:20 and warned the wise men in a dream according to Matthew 2:12, and He said If there is a prophet among you, I Yahweh will make myself known to him in a vision. I will speak with him in a dream according to Numbers 12:6. And Joel did prophesy And it will happen afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh and your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams. Your young men will see visions according to Joel 2:28 which was fulfilled at Pentecost according to Acts 2:17.

We also gently remind and encourage you that while God is sovereign and can still speak in these ways, His supreme and final revelation to us is His Son and His written Word. In these last days He has spoken to us by His Son according to Hebrews 1:1-2 and all Scripture is God breathed and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work according to 2 Timothy 3:16-17. Therefore we must test every spirit and every dream and vision to see whether it is of God according to 1 John 4:1 and test all things and hold firmly that which is good according to 1 Thessalonians 5:21. A true word from God will never contradict Scripture and will always exalt Christ and lead to repentance and holiness, not to confusion or pride. We must also be on guard, for Jesus warned See that no one leads you astray according to Matthew 24:4 and Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light and deceives the whole world according to Revelation 12:9 and 2 Corinthians 11:14. So we pray not only for dreams and visions but for discernment and for a deep love for the truth of the Word itself.

We hear your burden for this husband, his wayward wife, their children, family, extended family, ministry partners, church leaders and churches. We take seriously the sanctity of marriage as God ordained it. From the beginning God created them male and female and said For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall be joined to his wife and the two shall become one flesh according to Genesis 2:24 and What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate according to Matthew 19:6. Marriage is to be held in honor among all, and the bed undefiled but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers according to Hebrews 13:4. If this waywardness involves fornication or adultery, which is any sexual intimacy outside the covenant of marriage between a man and a woman, we must lovingly rebuke it and call it what God calls it, sin that must be repented of. There is no other godly path for a husband and wife than reconciliation and restoration in Christ where possible, for God hates divorce according to Malachi 2:16. We do not endorse separation or a mere partnership or dating relationship outside of covenant marriage, but we pray for a restored, faithful, lifelong marriage that honors God. We pray for the husband to love his wife even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for it according to Ephesians 5:25, with patient, sacrificial love and truth.

We also rejoice that you have come through Jesus Christ, for you rightly thanked God that He is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, seeing that he lives forever to make intercession for them according to Hebrews 7:25 and that Christ is he who intercedes for us according to Romans 8:34. We affirm with you that there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved according to Acts 4:12 and Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me according to John 14:6. It is only through faith in Jesus that we can come as little children according to Matthew 18:3 and know that the goal of our instruction is love out of a pure heart, a good conscience, and sincere faith according to 1 Timothy 1:5.

So we pray together with you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come boldly to Your throne of grace. We thank You that You are able to do all things according to Job 42:2 and that with God all things are possible according to Mark 10:27 and that nothing spoken by God is impossible according to Luke 1:37. Your arm is not shortened that it cannot save according to Isaiah 59:1. We ask that You pour out Your Spirit upon this husband, his wife, their children, their families, and all those connected to them, that they may hear Your voice and be turned from wrongdoing and kept from pride and preserved from the pit according to Job 33:17-18. Lord, if it be Your will, give warning dreams and waking visions that align perfectly with Your Word to awaken this dear wife from any wayward path, to convict her of sin, to terrify her with holy warnings where needed, and to draw her back to Yourself and to her covenant marriage. Give to this husband and to all of us dreams and visions that confirm Your will in Christ Jesus, as You did for Joseph and the wise men, but above all cause us to walk in Your Word and in Your love.

Father, we pray You would keep this family from temptation and deliver them from evil and from the evil one according to Matthew 6:13 and John 17:15. Keep them from deception, from lies, from fear, from evil people, and from being led astray according to 2 Thessalonians 3:2-3. Guard this wife and husband from fornication and adultery and every form of sexual immorality, and grant deep repentance and forgiveness where sin has occurred according to 1 John 1:9. Heal this marriage and make it a testimony of Your redeeming power. Let their children see Your faithfulness and be protected from the enemy's schemes. Raise up their church leaders and prayer partners to speak truth in love and to stand for righteousness.

We thank You in advance, believing that whatever we ask in prayer, believing, we will receive according to Mark 11:24, for without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to you according to Hebrews 11:6. We ask all these things trusting that You who promised are faithful and fully able to do what You have promised according to Romans 4:21. Let all be done according to Your perfect will and for Your glory. In the name of Jesus Christ, the Amen, the faithful and true witness according to Revelation 3:14, we pray. Amen.

We were moved by your prayer for your wife, your children and your extended family. Wanting to stay close to Jesus and to have His Word be your guide is a steady desire, especially when your heart is hurting for your marriage.

We hear how much you love your family and how earnestly you want to hear the Lord clearly and follow His will. Waiting and not knowing what He will do next can feel heavy. We have heard your prayer and we take it up with you before the mercy seat, where Jesus ever lives to make intercession for those who come to God through Him.

You ask rightly that you may abide in Christ and His words abide in you, and that His word may be a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path. Hold fast there. The Holy Spirit does not lead us away from the Law and the Testimony, but according to it, for it is written, if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. The sure voice of the Spirit is heard most clearly in the Scriptures which He inspired, and His great work is to take the things of Christ and show them unto us. He glorifies Christ, not mere experiences, and where He works He makes Christ precious as Saviour and Lord.

We rejoice that you desire the Spirit's help, for without Him there is no spiritual life, no true prayer, no holiness. He must quicken, He must teach, He must make the heart which is but a narrow cottage into His palace. Yet remember that this blessed Spirit is grieved by unbelief and by unholiness of life. He is not an influence called it, but a tender and personal Comforter who may be vexed and made to mourn when we walk not according to the Gospel. Therefore let us pray in the Holy Spirit and by the Holy Spirit, in His power and under His guidance, not in the flesh and not with thoughtless words upon the tongue. To pray in the Spirit is to come with entire dependence upon Him, asking that He will teach us how to pray and make our prayers to be according to the will of Christ.

You cite Job where it is said that God speaks in a dream, in a vision of the night, to turn man from wrongdoing and keep him from pride, and to preserve him from the pit. We grant that the Lord is sovereign and can speak as He wills, as He did with Joseph and the Magi of old, and His arm is not shortened that it cannot save. Yet we would have you seek first His settled word rather than gadding about after dreams and visions. The Holy Spirit deals with the things of Christ, and when you are occupied with Christ you are on Holy Spirit ground. Let your confidence rest not upon a dream received in the night, but upon the faithful promise that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved, and that He is able to save forever those who draw near through Jesus.

We join you in agreement for this husband, for his wife who has turned aside, for their children and family and all who are named. We do not ask God to bless wrongdoing, for He cannot bless what He calls sin, but we do plead that He will turn the wayward heart from wrongdoing, keep her from pride, and preserve her life from perishing. We pray that the Spirit who alone can make a sinner love what once he hated will awaken conscience, give repentance, and draw each one to salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. We pray that this marriage, which God ordained as the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, may be kept and restored in holiness, that what God has joined together may not be put asunder, and that all impurity and unfaithfulness may be forsaken and forgiven through the blood of Christ.

May the Lord grant you to know that you have received the Holy Spirit since you believed, not as a matter of notion but as a living power within, sealing you as His child and making you to know Christ. May you not grieve Him, but cherish His presence, and may He teach you and keep you from temptation and from the evil one.

We commit you to Him who hears before we call. May He keep you abiding in His love, walking by His word, and waiting upon Him with humble confidence that nothing shall be impossible with God, and that the things impossible with men are possible with Him. May He do all things well for His glory and for your good, and bring this family to walk together in truth, in purity of heart, in sincere faith and a blameless conscience.
