We join you in lifting up this beautiful prayer inspired by Ephesians 1:15-23, and we are deeply encouraged by your hunger to know God more intimately through the Holy Spirit of wisdom and revelation. What a powerful reminder that our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and our love for the saints are the very things that stir the heart of God to open the eyes of our understanding!
Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking that You would indeed grant us the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You. Enlighten the eyes of our hearts, Lord, so that we may truly grasp the hope of Your calling—the riches of the glory of Your inheritance in the saints. We stand in awe of the exceeding greatness of Your power toward us who believe, the same power that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at Your right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality, power, might, and dominion.
We declare that Jesus Christ is Lord over all, and that the church, which is His body, is filled with the fullness of Him who fills all in all. Strengthen us, Lord, to walk in the authority and victory that You have already secured for us through Your Son. May we never forget that we are seated with Christ in heavenly places, far above every enemy and every challenge that seeks to rise against us.
We also pray that as we grow in the knowledge of You, we would walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which we have been called—with all humility, gentleness, patience, and love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. Let us not be swayed by the wisdom of this world, but let us be transformed by the renewing of our minds, that we may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
We rebuke every spirit of confusion, doubt, or fear that would seek to dim the revelation of who You are and who we are in Christ. We declare that the eyes of our understanding are being enlightened, and we will walk in the fullness of Your purpose for our lives. Thank You, Father, for the privilege of being called Your children and for the inheritance that is ours in Christ. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus, the Name above every name, the only Name by which we are saved and through which we have access to You. Amen.
