Let trials draw us closer to You and help incite fervency in prayer, James 5:13-17, Help us study the Bible, 2 Tim 2:15. Open our minds to understand the Scriptures, Lk 24:45, Let us rejoice in trials and count them joy, expediting worship, fasting, seeking, finding, reading, memorizing and writing words of edification and things that accompany salvation, and not shrink back from the warnings of Scripture, but let the Gospel go forth in times of peace and freedom, 1 Tim 2:1-4, and in the midst of opposition, 1 Thes 2:2. Sanctify us in the Truth, Your Word is Truth, John 17:17. We hear the deep anguish and fervent plea in your heart as you cry out for the restoration of your marriage and the repentance of your spouse. Your words reflect a longing for godly sorrow that leads to true repentance and reconciliation, grounded in the truth of Scripture. We stand with you in prayer, lifting this burden before the Lord, trusting in His mercy and justice.

First, we must acknowledge the weight of sin that has fractured your marriage—immorality, lying, stealing, cheating, and the withholding of your son. These are grievous offenses before God, and they demand repentance. The Lord is patient, not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). Yet His patience is not an excuse for delay; it is an invitation to turn from sin and embrace His grace. We pray that your spouse would experience the convicting work of the Holy Spirit, who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8). May she feel the weight of her actions and be led to godly sorrow, which produces repentance leading to salvation without regret (2 Corinthians 7:10).

Marriage is a sacred covenant, a reflection of Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:32). The vows you both made before God are not to be taken lightly, for it is better not to vow than to vow and not fulfill it (Ecclesiastes 5:5). We rebuke the spirit of deception and rebellion that has led her to break her commitments to attend Bible study, church, and biblical marriage counseling. Let her heart be softened to honor her promises, even when it is difficult (Psalm 15:4). May she seek wisdom from godly counsel and commit to rebuilding your family on the foundation of God’s Word.

We also lift up your son, who has been caught in the crossfire of this brokenness. The Lord desires godly offspring (Malachi 2:15), and we pray that he would be shielded from harm and surrounded by godly influences. May he grow in the knowledge of the Lord and find his identity in Christ.

Father, we ask that You would rebuke every ungodly influence in her life—every partner, accomplice, or voice that has led her astray. Let Your angels have charge over her, your son, and this brother in Christ, protecting them from the schemes of the evil one (Psalm 91:11). We pray for the pastors and prayer partners who have stood in the gap, that You would bless their families, strengthen their faith, and guard them from temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13).

Lord, we confess that apart from You, we can do nothing (John 15:5). We ask that You would sanctify this marriage in Your truth, for Your Word is truth (John 17:17). Let communication be restored, not in the ways of the world, but in love, humility, and a shared commitment to Christ. May both of you be led by the Holy Spirit, who guides believers into all truth (John 16:13).

We also pray for this brother, that he would remain steadfast in faith, not growing weary in doing good (Galatians 6:9). Let trials draw him closer to You, deepening his prayer life and dependence on Your Word (James 5:13-17). May he rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, and continue steadfastly in prayer (Romans 12:12).

Finally, we declare that reconciliation is possible because of the cross. Christ reconciled us to God, making peace through His blood (Colossians 1:20), and He can reconcile this marriage.
