We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear brother who is facing a hip replacement surgery. Father God, we know that You are the Great Physician, the One who heals and restores. We ask that You guide the hands of the surgeons and medical team with Your divine wisdom and skill. Lord, we pray that this operation would be a success, that the hip replacement would bring relief from pain and restore mobility. We trust in Your promise from Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh."

We also pray for a smooth and swift recovery. Father, we ask that You strengthen this brother during his rehabilitation, that he may regain his strength and walk again without pain. Be with him every moment, Lord, providing comfort and peace as he heals. We claim Your word from Psalm 147:3, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds."

We notice that while this prayer is fervent and heartfelt, it is directed to "Father God" without explicitly acknowledging the mediation of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It is crucial to remember that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." We must approach God in the name of Jesus, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear brother who is in need of Your healing touch. Lord, we ask that You guide the hands of the surgeons and medical staff, giving them wisdom, skill, and precision as they perform this hip replacement surgery. We pray for a successful operation, that the new joint would function perfectly and bring an end to the pain he has been enduring.

Father, we ask that You surround him with Your peace and comfort during this time. Give him strength and patience as he goes through the recovery and rehabilitation process. Lord, we trust in Your healing power and ask that You restore his health completely. Help him to walk again without pain, and let this surgery be a testimony to Your glory and Your goodness.

We also pray for his spiritual well-being, Lord. Draw him closer to You during this time of need. Let him feel Your presence and know that You are with him always. May he grow in faith and trust in You, knowing that You are his healer and provider.

In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage this brother to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and to trust in His perfect timing and will. Remember the words of Isaiah 41:10, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." Keep praying, keep trusting, and keep believing in the healing power of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We are holding up your loved one in prayer as he heads to the doctor Monday and prepares for hip replacement surgery. That kind of persistent pain, at work, at home, day in and day out, is draining, and we understand the weight of hoping for a successful operation and a smooth recovery. You’re not carrying that alone.

We remember a man from our church who faced major heart surgery with a calm that surprised his pastor. When asked if he was worried, he simply said, “I’m in God’s hands. He will watch over me.” That same quiet confidence can steady us now. It doesn’t mean we stop asking for a good result, we absolutely do, but it reminds us that God is with him in the operating room, in the rehab room, and in every moment in between. His presence is the one constant, no matter how the procedure goes.

In the days ahead, it might help to write down a few specific prayer points, for the surgeon’s hands, for the anesthesia team, for the physical therapists who will walk with him afterward, and for his own peace of mind, and to share them with your church or a few trusted prayer partners. Knowing others are lifting those details can lighten your load and keep hope steady.

Lord Jesus, we bring this man before You now. Please give the doctor wisdom on Monday, and when the time for surgery comes, guide the whole medical team and grant a successful operation. Ease his pain even now, and strengthen him for the rehab that will help him walk again. Surround him and those who love him with Your peace, the kind that doesn’t depend on reports or outcomes. We trust You for each day of healing, in Your name we pray. Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

There is a sacred art in bringing every ache and apprehension to the foot of the cross, and I perceive you are learning it well. The right hip lies not beyond the tender touch of Him who made the hip and the whole frame. Christ Jesus, the Sun of Righteousness, rises still with healing in His wings, and the very leaves of that Tree which grows by the river of grace are for the healing of the nations, yes, even for the mending of a joint worn by years of toil.

Do not imagine that the Great Physician sits idle while His child limps in pain. He who forgave the palsied man first, then bade him take up his bed and walk, knows the union of pardon and bodily repair. When the surgeon’s knife does its work, it is but an instrument in the pierced hand. Pray, then, with both boldness and submission, boldness because the mercy seat is sprinkled with precious blood, and submission because He doeth all things well. Shall we receive good at the hand of the Lord and not receive evil? The same Father who numbers the hairs of your head counts the days of your convalescence. Walk humbly with Him through this valley, and let the pain drive you deeper into His side.

Continue in prayer, not as those who beat the air, but as those who have a sure promise. The Lord is near to all who call upon Him in truth. I have observed that seasons of keen physical need are often the prelude to spiritual refreshing. While you wait for the operation and the slow work of rehab, let the waiting room become a sanctuary. The Savior took Peter’s mother by the hand and lifted her up; immediately the fever left, and she ministered unto them. Even so, He shall raise you from that bed of recovery to serve Him with renewed strength.

Take heart, then. The healing power of our Master is not a locked fountain. Cry to Him who heareth the young ravens, and trouble not yourself with the morrow. The success of the procedure rests in His wise decree, but whether it be success as you define it or as He designs it, all things work together for good. Only be sure that your soul’s healing runs parallel with the healing of the joint. Where there is no forgiveness, no balm in Gilead for the conscience, the bones grow old with roaring. But you have named the Name of Jesus, amen, and amen. Keep praying, not as a charm, but as a child speaks to a Father who never slumbers. He will answer in the time of His favor, and you shall walk again upon your own street as a living testimony. God bless you, and grant the surgeon wisdom, and your body grace to knit and mend, for Jesus’ sake.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The body cries out in pain, and the soul trembles at the thought of the surgeon’s knife. This is natural, for we are not angels but flesh and blood. Yet consider how Christ dealt with His disciples when they were tossed by the waves and cried out in terror. He did not appear at once, but in the fourth watch of the night, training them not to seek a hasty rescue from every pressing danger, but to bear each trial with a manful spirit. The pain in the hip, the waiting for the operation, the long weeks of rehabilitation, these are the rough sea upon which you now walk. Do not demand that the Lord calm it the moment you call out. Learn to say, even through clenched teeth, that the exceeding greatness of the power may be of God, and not from ourselves. The skill of the doctor is a gift, but the outcome hangs entirely on the hidden will of the Physician of souls.

You ask for success, and you are right to ask. Yet do not imagine that success is merely a bone set well and a wound closed neatly. True success is this: that through the weakness of the body, the spirit is made whole. The same Apostle who suffered bodily affliction learned that the power of Christ rests upon him precisely in weakness. We pray for a good job from the surgeon, yes. But we pray more fervently that whether the hip heals swiftly or slowly, with ease or with difficulty, you will be enriched in everything to all liberality of thanksgiving. Thanksgiving is not a single cry of relief when the pain stops; it is that spiritual fruit which multiplies even while the ache remains, the work of grace which flows through us to the glory of God. Offer that sacrifice now. Do not wait for the answer to give thanks. When you give thanks for what is yet unseen, you make a confession far more powerful than any mere request.

Do not be distressed if the healing seems slow, or if the path to walking again is long and wearisome. Remember what takes place in the sacred mystery of Baptism. We plunge the old man into the water as into a tomb, burying him wholly. Then we lift up the new man, rising to life. This is done three times, sealing the power of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Your bed of recovery is a kind of tomb where the old reliance on strong bones and untroubled flesh must be buried. As you lie there, helpless for a season, consider that God is dipping you down, putting off the old Adam who trusted in his own strength. When He raises you up again to walk, it will be as a new creature, who has learned that every step is a gift. The pain flares, and we wish to escape it. But the hidden purpose is this: to destroy the temple of pride, so that the Spirit of God may dwell in a clean habitation. If any man destroys that temple of self-trust, God will build up a living temple of humility in its place.

You ask for prayer without ceasing. You say, keep praying until the Father answers. Yet what is the answer you envision? A scar free of infection? A leg that moves without pain? These things are right to desire, but they are the temporal return. The spiritual return, which abides forever, is a soul so tested by affliction that it scatters abroad mercy and thanksgiving to all. Many who hear the word of the Gospel ten times remain insensible, but afterward, a single blow of suffering brings them to a sudden and abundant fruit of faith. The fierce poison of worldly anxiety and murmuring is more deadly than any wound of the flesh. The devil wages war not on our bodies, but through them, seeking to pour out the venom of despair. But the very bonds of sickness can become the cords of salvation. Because He was bound, we are freed. Because He suffered, our suffering is not unto death, but unto life. Do not look for the miracle of an instant cure, as the Jews demanded a sign. The greater miracle is here: that hearing the word of God, you believe and entrust your broken frame to Him. Faith, true faith, comes not by the sight of a healed limb, but by hearing the promise of the Resurrection. Lay hold of that promise now, while the hip still throbs. This is the victory.
