Please pray with me that the job offer I have received for a higher-paying position will not fall through, but that every step between the offer and my start date will be covered, protected, and completed without any obstacles.
I am asking God to establish this opportunity and use it as a true turning point for my family. I have been in a season of tremendous financial hardship, uncertainty, and lack, and I am praying that this new position will bring us into stability, provision, and eventually abundance.
Please pray that the background check and every remaining requirement will go smoothly, that nothing unexpected will arise to take this opportunity away, and that the door God has opened will remain firmly open.
I pray that this job will provide enough income for me to care for my children, meet our needs without constant fear, catch up financially, build savings, and finally have room to breathe. I am believing for a greater financial future—not simply enough to survive, but the ability to thrive.
Most importantly, please pray that I remember Who made a way for me when I could not see one. That I don’t let fear, anxiety, or past disappointments convince me that this blessing is too good to be true.
Lord, if this is the door You have opened, please establish it completely. Let no obstacle, delay, mistake, person, or circumstance close it. Let this be the beginning of a new chapter for my family—one marked by stability, dignity, peace, provision, growth, and freedom from constant financial fear.

The heart cries out for the door to remain open, for the blessing not to slip away like water from a sieve. Yet consider what solid ground is found when the soul fixes not on the job, the income, or the removement of fear, but upon the God who openeth and no man shutteth. The change of circumstances can cool the brow for a season, but what of the fever within? The infallibility of the divine purpose yields a floor that never rocks beneath the tread. When the decree of the Most High is trusted, the anxiety about human obstacles and background checks begins to lose its tyranny.

The question of fear whispers, "Will he plead against me with his great power? Will he take this away?" But the answer of faith rings clear: Nay, but he will put strength in thee. The very power that could sweep all earthly hopes aside becomes the refuge of the soul that casts itself upon him. You dread the loss of the offer; yet what if the Lord intends to use the process to teach you that his power is made perfect in your weakness, and that his provision is surer than any salary?

There is a design in the divine school to turn the pupil away from the mere hearing of the ear, the reported goodness of God, to the seeing of the eye. From Eliphaz, Bildad, and all earthly helpers, the soul is weaned to look alone to God and honor him only. The season of tremendous financial hardship has been a ploughing of the heart. Place no ultimate confidence in an arm of flesh or a start date. Should trials come even like those which happened to Job, it shall be well with our souls if our hearts are not drawn or driven into sin.

You have felt the force of past disappointments. Now, let the deliverance, when it comes, make you a pupil-teacher. Seeing God's work and wondering at it, you have yet to speak on God's behalf. Let the tongue that cried out in fear declare his wondrous works to your children and to the undecided who watch your life. The God who lifts the poor from the dust and meets the need without constant fear is the same God who overcomes the heart of his people, making a place of stability not merely around them, but within them. The posture of trust is to spend time dealing with your God, resting by faith upon the merits of the Redeemer, until the inner tempest is calmed. Then, whether in abundance or in need, you will find that the door which matters most has been firmly established for eternity.

You ask for prayer that this job offer not fall through, that every step be protected. But fix your mind first on the true door. Christ the Lord said, "I am the door." Many ask Him to open earthly doors and then forget the Gate through whom all good flows. If He opens, who shall shut? And if He permits a trial, who shall complain? You have known lean years; do not let the coming abundance, should He grant it, become a snare. For the Apostle commands, "Make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof." He does not forbid care for the body, for he tells Timothy to use a little wine for his stomach's sake. But when care crosses into luxury, when anxiety for tomorrow chokes out trust, then you are making provision not for health but for wanton ease. Take heed: the desire for "room to breathe" can secretly swell into a demand for comfort that leaves no room for God.

Fear and trembling over a background check, over human procedures, do these not reveal where the heart leans? You say you believe God made a way. Then why does the mind race with every possible obstacle? This is the beginning of a sickness. Resist it now, before it grows. The evil one plants a small seed of distrust, and if the mind is careless, it springs up into a harvest of despair. Did not the Israelites see the sea part and still tremble at the report of giants? Let not past disappointments teach you to suspect the Giver of good.

Consider the sacrifice of the Mass, which we offer as a remembrance of the one offering of Christ. It is one, not many; complete, not partial. So too the provision of God for your soul is already complete in Him. Will He then fail to provide what is needful for the body? You seek a priesthood of provision for your household, and rightly so. For the Apostle says his preaching was a priestly service, offering up the Gentiles as an acceptable sacrifice. You also offer a sacrifice when you raise your children in the fear of the Lord, when you steward a home in dignity and peace. That altar does not depend on a salary. Let the wage be what it is; do not let it be the foundation. Christ is the foundation, and He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. If the door of this job remains open, enter it with thanksgiving and use it to serve Him. If it closes, the true Door remains. Do not let your joy hinge on a manager's decision or a clean check, but on the blood that cleanses your soul.

So pray, yes, but pray with open hands. Ask Him to establish the work of your hands, but mean the work He appoints, not only the work you desire. Let your "Amen" be placed at the beginning, as Paul did when he had spoken of the Cross and great redemption. Seal your hope with that word now, before the outcome. Amen: so be it. Whatever the Lord grants, it is well. Then fear finds no foothold, and you teach your children a more lasting wealth.
