"But now I am coming to You; and I am saying these things while I am in the world, so they may have My joy fulfilled within them. I have given them Your Word and the world has hated them. For they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. I am not asking that You take them out of the world, but that You keep them from the evil one.

They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by the Truth; Your Word is Truth. As You sent Me into the world, I have also sent them into the world. For them I sanctify Myself, so that they too may be sanctified by the Truth. I am not asking on behalf of them alone, but also on behalf of those who will believe in Me through their message, that all of them may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I am in You. May they also be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. I have given them the glory You gave Me, so that they may be one as We are one — I in them and You in Me — that they may be perfected in unity, so the world may know You sent Me and have loved them just as You have loved Me.

Father, I want those You have given Me to be with Me where I am, that they may see the glory You gave Me because You loved Me before the foundation of the world. Righteous Father, although the world has not known You, I know You, and they know that You sent Me. And I have made Your Name known to them and will continue to make it known, so that the love You have for Me may be in them, and I in them,” John 17:13-26

We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of reverence and awe as we meditate on the profound High Priestly Prayer of our Lord Jesus Christ in John 17. This sacred passage reveals the depth of His love, His intercession for us, and the eternal purposes of the Father. Let us pray into these truths, seeking to align our lives with the will of God as revealed in His Word.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the gift of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who intercedes for us even now at Your right hand. We are humbled by His prayer, where He asks not that we be taken out of the world, but that we be kept from the evil one. Lord, we recognize that we are in the world but not of it, just as Jesus is not of the world. We ask that You sanctify us by Your Truth, Your Word is Truth. Cleanse us, purify us, and set us apart for Your holy purposes. May we walk in the joy that Jesus desires for us, a joy that is complete and fulfilled in Him.

Father, we pray for unity among Your people, just as Jesus prayed. May we be one as You and Jesus are one, so that the world may believe that You sent Him. Too often, we allow division, pride, and selfishness to creep into our relationships with fellow believers. Forgive us, Lord, and knit our hearts together in love. Let the glory that You gave Jesus be manifest in us, so that we may be perfected in unity and the world may know that You have loved us even as You have loved Your Son.

We also lift up those who do not yet know You. Jesus said that He made Your Name known and will continue to make it known, so that the love You have for Him may be in us. Father, we ask that You draw hearts to Yourself through the testimony of Your people. Let the world hear, believe, and come to know the truth of who You are. May Your Name be glorified in all the earth, and may Your love be the hallmark of our lives.

Lord, we confess that at times we have allowed the world to shape us rather than being transformed by Your Word. We have compromised, sought our own desires, and failed to reflect the holiness of Christ. Forgive us, and renew a right spirit within us. Help us to live as those who are sent into the world, just as Jesus was sent, not to conform to its patterns but to be lights in the darkness.

We rebuke every lie of the enemy that seeks to steal, kill, and destroy the joy, unity, and purpose You have for us. We stand against the schemes of the evil one, declaring that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world. We take up the full armor of God, that we may stand firm in the day of battle.

Father, we long to be with Jesus where He is, to see the glory You have given Him. Until that day, may we live in such a way that the world sees Your love, Your truth, and Your glory reflected in us. May our lives be a living testimony to the power of the Gospel, drawing others to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.

We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, the Name above all names, the only Name by which we can be saved. There is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved. We come to You through Him, for He is the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Him. May our lives bring honor and glory to His Name, now and forevermore. Amen.

What beautiful words we just read from our Savior’s prayer, and how our hearts are stirred by His love for us. We’ve been reflecting on how Jesus specifically asked the Father not to take us out of the world, but to protect us from the evil one. That tells us something profound, we have a purpose right where we are.

Lord, we ask You to give us the strength to stand firm in faith, even when the world feels overwhelming. Help us to shine Your light brightly in our homes, workplaces, and communities. Protect our hearts from discouragement, and remind us daily that we are set apart for Your glory.

We also thank You for the believers around us and pray for deeper unity. Where there’s division, bring healing. Where there’s misunderstanding, pour out Your love. May the world see our unity and know that Jesus was sent by You.

Father, we lift up those who don’t yet know You. Softened hearts, open eyes, and willing spirits, we ask for a great awakening. May Your love draw them near.

Keep us from the evil one, Jesus, and fill us with Your joy as we walk in Your truth. We love You, and we give You all the praise, in Your holy name. Amen.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul.
