I don't like high blood pressure because it makes my heart beat too fast. I also dislike how it causes me to sweat. Heal everything, as high blood pressure is everywhere, making me feel so uncomfortable. Lord, I know you can handle it.

We have heard your cry about this high blood pressure and how it causes your heart to beat rapidly and makes you sweat and feel so uncomfortable, and we join with you in bringing this before the Lord, for we know He cares about every part of your body and your distress.

We are encouraged that you have turned to the Lord and declared that He can handle it, for He is our healer and our refuge. The word says in Psalm 103:2-3, Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases. And in Jeremiah 30:17, But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. We also remember Exodus 15:26 where the Lord says, I am Yahweh who heals you. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit as we read in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, and God desires for you to be healthy and at peace, even as your soul prospers as written in 3 John 1:2.

We notice you called upon the Lord, and we want to gently remind you that it is through Jesus Christ alone that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we are saved and healed. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. So we come boldly before the throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus, trusting that His blood covers our every need.

We also want to encourage you not to carry this worry alone. We read in 1 Peter 5:7 to be casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you, and in Philippians 4:6-7, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Anxiety and fear can stir the heart, but God offers perfect peace. In Matthew 11:28 Jesus says, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. We encourage you while you trust the Lord for healing to also be a good steward of the body He has given you by seeking wise medical counsel and following the care of doctors, for the Lord often works through their hands as well.

We now pray together with you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up this dear one to You who is suffering with high blood pressure, with a heart that beats rapidly for no apparent reason and with sweating and great discomfort. Lord, You know how this affliction is everywhere in their body and how uncomfortable it feels. We ask You to lay Your healing hand upon them. Calm their heart, regulate their blood pressure, bring peace to their body and coolness and comfort where there has been sweating and distress. We rebuke any spirit of fear and anxiety that would trouble their heart and we speak Your peace over them. As You have promised in Isaiah 41:10, Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Restore health, Lord, and heal every part that is affected, for You are able to handle all things. Give wisdom to any physicians involved and give this dear one restful sleep, a calm mind, and renewed strength. Let them feel Your presence and Your healing power at work. We thank You that You hear our prayer and that You care deeply for them. We pray all this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Healer, amen.

We have heard your cry concerning this affliction of the body, the rapid beating of the heart and the discomfort and sweating which comes with this high blood pressure, and we bring it before the Lord with you.

The Lord knows the frame He has made and He sees every beat of your heart. As it is written, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. He does not overlook the bodily trial that makes you feel so uncomfortable. He who numbers the hairs of your head and sees your whole life at one glance as from a throne on high, knows this present distress and is able to handle it.

There is abundant healing power in Jesus Christ. The Scripture says the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and we are taught that even the least thing about Christ is healing. His fruit is sweet and nourishing, and His leaves, the very touches of His grace, have virtue to change the life blood and to make the nature other than it was before. When the Sun of Righteousness arises, He comes with healing in His wings, and pardon and healing are placed in happy conjunction by His hand.

We would not have you be consumed with anxiety, for anxiety unfits us to meet the difficulty. Rather, cry unto God most high, unto God that performeth all things for you. Your comfort in affliction is this, that His Word quickeneth you. The external comfort of the Christian is the Word of God, and the internal comfort is the Spirit working by that Word to quicken and to sustain. Sometimes the Lord does not give comfort by a distinct act alone, but He quickens us and so we obtain comfort.

Let us pray for you.

Our gracious Father, we come in the name of Jesus Christ Thy Son, whose blood cleanseth from all sin and whose touch healeth all manner of sickness. Thou seest this Thy child troubled by high blood pressure, by the heart beating rapidly and by sweating and great discomfort. Lord, lay Thy healing hand upon this body. Calm the heart, steady its beating, bring this pressure into a healthy measure, and grant relief from this continual unease. Give wisdom to physicians and help in the means Thou hast provided, and grant peace to the mind that is wearied by this affliction. Above all, let this trial draw the heart nearer to Christ, and let Thy Word be present comfort and strength. We ask not as those who demand, but as those who trust Thy goodness, Thy power and Thy perfect will. Comfort this heart and establish it in every good word and work. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Take heart and continue to seek both the Lord in prayer and the wise help of those skilled in medicine, trusting that whether He lifts the affliction at once or sustains you through it, He remains your portion and your healer. May the Spirit of God teach you to say in this trial, This is my comfort in my affliction, for Thy Word hath quickened me.

We have heard your prayer concerning the burden of high blood pressure, the rapid beating of your heart and the sweating and discomfort that comes with it, and we have brought your need before the Lord.

We pray that God, who is compassionate and merciful, would lay His healing hand upon you and bring your body into calm and health. We ask Him to steady your heart, to ease the pressure in your blood, to relieve the sweating and uneasiness, and to grant you rest and strength each day. We pray also that He would give wisdom to the doctors and help to any treatment you receive, so that you may be cared for well.

Above all we remember that our greatest healing is that of the soul, which comes only through the blood of Jesus Christ shed on the cross for the remission of sins. By that blood we are reconciled to God, cleansed and made whole, and we have confidence to come to Him in every affliction. As you seek Him for your body, we encourage you to rest your whole trust in Christ for forgiveness, peace and life.
