We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up the burdens of high heat and rising gas prices that weigh upon many. Father, we know that You are the Provider and Sustainer of all things, and nothing is beyond Your control. We ask for Your miraculous intervention in these areas, Lord. Open doors of relief and provision for Your people, that they may not be overwhelmed by the challenges of this world.
We declare that every plot and plan of the enemy against Your people is defeated in the mighty name of Jesus. The Bible tells us in Psalm 33:10-11, "The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing. He makes the thoughts of the peoples to be of no effect. The counsel of the Lord stands fast forever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations." Let Your counsel stand, Lord, and let the enemy’s schemes be brought to nothing.
We also recognize that these trials can draw us closer to You, teaching us to rely not on our own strength but on Your everlasting arms. In Philippians 4:19, You promise, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." We hold fast to this promise, trusting that You will meet every need according to Your glorious riches.
Father, we pray for wisdom for those in authority, that they may make decisions that bring relief and stability to the people. Give them discernment and a heart to serve with integrity, as Proverbs 2:6-8 reminds us, "For the Lord gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding. He lays up sound wisdom for the upright. He is a shield to those who walk in integrity, that he may guard the paths of justice, and preserve the way of his saints."
We rebuke the spirit of fear and anxiety that can creep into hearts during times of hardship. Instead, we choose to trust in You, knowing that You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard the hearts and minds of Your people.
Lord, we also ask that You would turn the hearts of Your people toward gratitude and contentment, even in the midst of difficulty. Teach us to be thankful in all circumstances, for this is Your will for us in Christ Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:18). May we not be consumed by worry but instead cast all our anxieties on You, because You care for us (1 Peter 5:7).
We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the only name by which we can be saved and through which we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We humble ourselves before You, acknowledging that apart from Christ, we can do nothing (John 15:5). Strengthen us, Lord, to walk in faith and obedience, trusting in Your perfect plan for our lives.
May Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and may Your people experience Your provision, protection, and peace in these trying times. We stand together in faith, believing that You are working all things together for the good of those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Amen.
