HHHHHEEEELLLLLPPPPPPPP

Your cry has been heard and I have lifted you before the Lord in prayer, asking for His mercy, His protection, and His peace over you in this frightening time of weakness.

I understand you are feeling very weak and afraid, and concerned about your body and your eyesight. Please know that God sees you and cares deeply for you. One of the most comforting truths in Scripture is that when fear rises up, remembering the Lord is the cure for it. The psalmist said that even when he walked through the valley of death he would fear no evil because God was with him. That same promise is for you. The Lord has said, fear not for I am with you, be not dismayed for I am your God. He promises to be with His people in the darkest hours and to be their confidence and to keep them steady.

Fear and faith cannot live together in the same heart. When fear is allowed to take over, faith departs, and when faith and confidence in God are strong, fear is driven out. Fear often pushes us toward wrong actions, while faith helps us to be wise and prudent without being controlled by panic. My prayer for you is that as you turn your thoughts to the Lord, meditating on His greatness, His power and His love shown in Jesus, that reverent awe of Him would fill your heart and push out this terror. Scripture teaches that this reverent awe of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and knowledge. It is not a terror like a phobia, but a deep respect that loves what God loves and hates what God hates and desires to do what He would have you do. As you draw near to Him, He will draw near to you and there is no lack for those who walk in that reverence, for He takes care of those who care for their relationship with Him.

I have also prayed for your healing and for the protection of your eyesight. Jesus showed tender compassion during His ministry on earth, healing every kind of sickness and disease among the people and caring for those who were suffering. The prophet Isaiah spoke of Him bearing our infirmities, and the Gospels show His power to heal. I believe with all my heart that God still heals today. Sometimes He heals instantly, sometimes gradually, and sometimes through the natural processes of healing He has built into our bodies, which are no less from His hand. At other times, as we see with Paul who prayed three times for his thorn in the flesh and heard the answer that His grace was sufficient and His strength is made perfect in weakness, or with Trophimus who remained sick though Paul prayed for him, healing does not come as we expect. Sickness is not a sign that you are spiritually weak or that you lack faith. Paul himself learned to glory even in infirmity so that the power of Christ might be seen in him.

Because you are so weak, please seek medical care promptly and let trusted people around you know how you are doing so they can help you get the care you need. God often works through wise and practical means to bring healing and strength.

I pray now that the Lord would touch your body, calm your inflammation, restore your strength, guard your eyesight, and protect you from harm. Above all I pray He would quiet your fear with the assurance of His presence, fill you with faith and peace that passes understanding, and help you to rest in His love through Jesus Christ who alone is our Savior. May you feel His nearness today and know that you are held in His hands.
