HHHHEEEEELLLLPPPPP

Your desperate cry for help is exactly the kind of prayer God hears. When you have come to the end of yourself and have nothing left but to call out to Him, you are in the right place before Him.

There are really only two positions we can be in. Either we are waiting on God and trusting Him, or God is waiting on us until we are brought low enough to truly cry out for help. So often we turn first to human strength, to our own plans, to the arm of flesh, and we find that help is empty and comes to nothing. God allows us to reach that place of desperation so that we will finally look up and call on Him with our whole heart.

Your help does not come from people or from circumstances or from hills around you. Your help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth. He is gracious and merciful, and He has shown again and again that though we get into trouble by our own folly, when we cry out to Him He delivers us because His mercy endures forever.

This is not about finding another formula or trying harder to help yourself. When we have tried and failed, the honest cry becomes not how can I change myself, but who will deliver me. The answer is outside of us. Thanks be to God, deliverance comes through Jesus Christ. He hears the needy when they cry, those who have no other help, and He is able to save and to give strength to do what is right.

I am praying for you now that you will put your confidence fully in Him and not in any human help. Learn to sit still before Him and trust Him to act. Lift your eyes to Him, call on the name of the Lord, and ask Him to be your defense and your deliverer. May He help you not only to hear His word but to do it, and may you know His goodness and mercy lifting you out of this trouble and leading you to walk valiantly with Him.
