'He's Calling You!' - Mark 10:49-50

When Jesus heard [the blind man begging for mercy], he stopped and said, "Tell him to come here."

So they called the blind man. "Cheer up," they said. "Come on, he's calling you!" Bartimaeus threw aside his coat, jumped up, and came to Jesus.

Mark 10:49-50 NLT

Key Thought

Jesus still calls to us!

  1. He wants us to recognize the message of his life: He demonstrated through his ministry, "You can come to me, I will receive you, and you can have new life!"
  2. He wants us to hear the message of his teaching: He tells us, "You are to love God, and you to love and serve other people as I have loved you!"
  3. He wants us to feel fresh hope in the power of his resurrection: He wants us to trust him, "You who are heavy burdened can come to me and find rest, safety, and joy in my presence."

Jesus is calling to you. Will you come to him and follow him?

Today's Prayer

O Father in heaven, help me hear the voice of Jesus calling me to follow, to find rest, and to focus on the glorious future that I have in him. Give me courage to keep hearing his voice and following him faithfully. In Jesus' name. Amen.
