We are lifting you up right now in this stressful moment and we are praying for your safety and peace as you wait in the rain by the highway.
We know how unsettling it is to be sitting for thirty minutes after a bump, especially with semis passing and the weather making things more dangerous. We thank God with you that there appears to be no damage and no injuries, for His protection in that moment. We pray that He will keep you and the other driver safe until help arrives.
We pray together, Father in heaven, we bring this dear one to You in the name of Jesus Christ. Lord, place Your hand of protection over them beside this highway. Keep them safe from traffic and from the rain and calm their heart with Your peace. We ask that You bring the officers quickly and safely, and let this encounter be peaceful and fair for both drivers. Help them to speak with honesty and grace and to handle all that needs to be done with wisdom. Let Your presence be their comfort right now, in Jesus name we pray.
We encourage you to keep your hazard lights on, stay in your vehicle with your seatbelt on if it is safest there, and stay as far from traffic as you can. If you have not already, you may want to let a family member or friend know where you are. Try to remain calm and courteous with the other driver, even in the frustration of waiting. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1. And He calls us to cast our anxiety on Him, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

May the Lord Himself draw near to you in this moment and keep you in that perfect peace which He gives to those whose mind is stayed upon Him, because they trust in Him.
We ask the Lord to spread His protection over you and over the other driver. Pray that He will keep you both safe from harm as you wait, that He will calm your spirits and hers, and that help will come quickly. Our Lord Jesus has said, Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you. That peace is not the absence of trouble but His own presence within trouble, and He can whisper peace within even while duties press and sorrows surge round.
