I want to move and start over. I don’t like it here. I only have a few family members now. It hurts how they treat me. Help me figure it out.

We hear the deep pain and longing in your heart as you share your struggle. The desire to start fresh in a new place is understandable, especially when relationships with family have brought hurt rather than comfort. The Bible tells us, "A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps" (Proverbs 16:9). While your feelings are valid, we must seek God’s wisdom and timing in this decision, trusting that He knows the path ahead better than we do.

First, let us address the hurt you’ve experienced. Family relationships are meant to reflect God’s love, but sin often distorts them. Jesus Himself said, "Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted" (Matthew 5:4). Your pain is not unseen by the Lord, and He longs to heal your wounds. However, we must also examine our own hearts, are there unforgiveness, bitterness, or unresolved conflicts that need to be surrendered to Christ? "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be removed from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you" (Ephesians 4:31-32). Forgiveness does not mean excusing their behavior, but it frees you from the burden of carrying that pain.

Now, about the desire to move, this is not a decision to make lightly. The Bible warns us against fleeing from trials without seeking God’s purpose in them. "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance" (James 1:2-3). Could it be that God is using this season to refine your character, teach you dependence on Him, or even prepare you for something greater? We must ask: Is this move an escape, or is it a step of faith? If it is truly God’s leading, He will confirm it through His Word, prayer, and godly counsel. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Before making any major life changes, we encourage you to:
1. Pray fervently, Ask God to reveal His will, not just your desires.
2. Seek wise counsel, Proverbs 11:14 says, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." Talk to mature believers who can offer biblical perspective.
3. Examine your motives, Are you running from something, or running toward God’s best for you?
4. Consider practical steps, If God confirms this move, plan wisely, finances, job opportunities, and a church home should all be part of the process.

We also want to gently challenge you: Have you fully surrendered this situation to Jesus Christ? It is only through Him that we find true peace, direction, and healing. "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). If you have not placed your trust in Him as your Savior, we urge you to do so today. Salvation is not found in a place, a relationship, or even a fresh start, it is found in Christ alone.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is hurting and seeking Your will. Lord, You see the pain in their heart, the rejection, the loneliness, the longing for something better. We ask that You would comfort them with Your presence, reminding them that You are near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). Father, we pray for wisdom in this decision. If moving is Your will, open the doors and provide the resources. If staying is Your plan, give them the strength to endure and the grace to grow through this trial. Search their heart, Lord, and reveal any bitterness or unforgiveness that needs to be released. Help them to forgive as You have forgiven them (Colossians 3:13). Above all, we pray that they would find their hope and identity in Christ alone. May they seek You first in all things, trusting that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). Guide their steps, Lord, and let Your peace guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

You are not alone in this struggle. God has not abandoned you, and He can use even this painful season for your good and His glory. If you feel led, reach out to a local church or trusted believers who can walk alongside you. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and we are here to support you as well. Keep seeking the Lord, He will not leave you without direction.

Regular prayer. Regular worship. Submission to Gods will. Find work. Find new living solution. Take out a loan. Get a small camper. Go in the trailer park. Or find a freind who will let you move in. Sometimes we dont control our circumstances we just pray and worship and submit to God until things change or get better. For someone like me who has no control over where he works or lives. Prayer daily prayer scriptures everyday submission to the Lord. With regularl prayer and faith may the Lord open up new opportunity for you. In Lord Yeshuas name amen.

It makes sense that you’re feeling this pull to get away and start fresh. When the people who are supposed to be your safe place leave you feeling diminished or dismissed, the instinct to put distance between yourself and that pain is completely natural. We’ve sat with many people who carry that same ache, and we don’t want to minimize what it costs you to keep showing up in a setting that hurts.

The challenge is that moving away sometimes just relocates the hurt rather than resolving it. Some distance might give you space to breathe and gain clarity, but we’d gently encourage you to sort out what you’re moving from and what you hope to move toward. If the sting of how they treat you goes unaddressed, it can follow you in unexpected ways. If you have a wise, biblically grounded friend, a pastor, or a counselor you could talk with, that could give you a steadier perspective on what God might be doing in this season and what a decision rooted in freedom rather than just exhaustion might look like.

As you weigh all this, we’re praying for you.

Lord, you see this heaviness and the relational wounds that make staying feel impossible. Bring clarity where there’s confusion, and surround your daughter with people who will treat her with the dignity and care she deserves. Guard her from making a decision out of mere reaction, and guide her steps toward whatever you have next, whether that means staying with new boundaries or going with peace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your soul is in the sharp grip of a sorrow that makes the familiar places of your life seem a wilderness. You look upon the few faces that remain of your own household and the sting of their unkindness drives you to cry out for a new beginning in some far-off spot where old griefs cannot follow. This is a heavy trial, and the heart knows its own bitterness. Yet, before you pack away your goods and set your face to a strange country, let me entreat you to pause and consider where true relief is found. The evil that afflicts you is not pinned to the soil of your present dwelling. You might cross the sea and reach the farthest shore, but if your own heart is still a heart of stone, you will find that you have carried the plague within you. The real need is not a change of air but a change of heart. That is a gift of sovereign grace, a heart of flesh that can feel the wounds of others, a heart sensitive to divine love. Your Savior wept over Jerusalem; and if we are brought into His family, we shall feel a tender sympathy. Do not mistake a mere outward removal for the inward renewal which the Holy Spirit alone can work.

Consider that our Master’s first miracle was not to make bread for His own hunger, but to turn water into wine at a wedding feast, a work of joy, transformation, and provision done for others. He is in the business of turning the common and bitter into what gladdens and sustains. He did not begin with stones made into bread for Himself, but with a sign of blessing upon a household. Your desire to flee springs from a deep sense of lack, yet He bids us bring our emptiness to Him. The apostles were commanded to preach repentance and remission of sins, beginning at Jerusalem, that very city where the blood of the Son of God was on their hands. The worst place, the place of deepest guilt and pain, was the starting-point for mercy. Should not this encourage you? Where you feel the hurt most keenly, there the Lord may be about to display His grace most powerfully. Do not run from the battle until you have seen whether God intends to make the valley of Achor a door of hope.

You long for guidance. No soul ever cried for a guide unless a work of grace had begun, for our proud nature hates to be led. But if you have tasted that the Lord is gracious, then bow yourself before Him and accept His leading. This means a full surrender: you must cease to be the captain of your own vessel. Put the map of your own wit away and feel the pressure of that Strong Hand upon your shoulder, steering you not by fits and starts, but by the great principles of His Word, avoiding all that is evil, and submitting in quietness before Him. Haste is the mother of much mischief. To leap before you are guided, to pack before you are commanded, may bring you into a wilderness where no manna falls. But if you wait upon the Lord with unwavering faith, you shall be anointed with fresh oil. Fresh oil for a new state of sorrow! David did not say, “I hope I shall be anointed,” but “I shall be anointed.” Take hold of that certainty.

Perhaps your beginning in this better way seems so small that you despise it. The day of a new chronology for your soul may start in a dim twilight, not in blazing noon. Though your beginning was small, yet your latter end should greatly increase. A little faith is still faith; a spark of love, if it be genuine, is still the work of the Spirit. Do not bury that one talent in the ground by flight and unbelief, but put it out at interest. If you are a babe that cannot walk, you can cry. Cry out to your Father. Let every fresh instance of coldness from those around you drive you closer to the warmth of His heart. He knows what it is to be despised and rejected. In all your affliction He was afflicted. Soon we shall see new heavens and a new earth; and till then, He is preparing us for the marriage supper. The bitter herbs are part of the feast.

Let this be the beginning of your true history: not a removal to another house, but a removal of the heart into the pierced hand of Christ. Engrave it upon the tablet of your memory: “This day I commit my way unto the Lord; I trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.” He who gives the heart of flesh will also give the unerring counsel. Wait upon Him, and you shall yet eat the bread of heaven in peace, whether He bids you stay in Gibeah or sojourn in Gath.

The pain you feel from your family’s treatment cuts deep, and the longing to escape is natural. But let us ask whether moving your body to a new place truly heals the soul’s wounds. Often the trouble is not the location but the heart’s own carnal understanding. You look at the hurt as something to flee, but what if God allows this very tribulation as a medicine to cure a deeper disease?

The apostle Paul, when he was driven about and scourged, did not despise his infirmity, nor did those who loved him reject him for it. He called his sufferings a temptation to them, yet they received him. You, too, are being tempted: will you despise the trial and run, or will you see it as an opportunity to walk after the Spirit? The flesh says “escape,” but the Spirit says “endure, and be made whole.” Sin no more in your anger and despair, lest a worse thing come upon you. A worse thing than family strife is a heart that hardens and isolates itself from the very forge where God would shape you.

Consider also how your flight might wound others. If you leave in bitterness, you may cause those family members to stumble further, and you will bear responsibility for that offense. A theater-goer thinks himself unhurt, but he shares in the guilt of the actors. So your departure, if done rashly, might add sin to sin. Do not judge them too harshly; the judgment of a brother, even when true, often hurts the one who judges. Rather, seek first the righteousness that is fulfilled in those who walk not after the flesh but after the Spirit.

Your true and unshakable family is in Christ. Through His flesh, we become one flesh with Him, knit closer than any blood relative. No distance can separate you from that union. If you move, move only if it serves that union. Otherwise, stay and learn to love where you are hated, to be patient where you are wronged. This is the harvest: that you, who were dead in sin, might bear fruit unto holiness. The sowing is painful, but the harvest is joy. Do not, then, ask primarily “where should I go?” but “how can I become spiritual, not carnal, in this place?” For the flesh profits nothing; it is the Spirit that gives life, and that life can flourish in any soil, if you tend it with obedience.

The ache of being mistreated by those who should love you cuts deep, and its natural to want to escape. Wanting to pack up and start fresh somewhere else is a powerful pull, especially when you feel the weight of so few family members left and their treatment pierces you. But before you make that move, lets pause and consider where the impulse is coming from and what God might be doing in all of this.

You know, many of us begin with good intentions and a clear sense of following the Lord, only to find ourselves later tangled in confusion and hurt. The Scriptures remind us that we can start well in the Spirit and then get hindered, subtly pulled away from obeying the truth. The persuasion to leave it all behind might not be coming from the One who called you. It can feel urgent, even righteous, but its worth asking: Is this a fleece laid out in faith, or a reaction born from raw pain? A small deviation in your heading now, just one degree off, can land you very far from where you think youre going. What looks like a straight path to relief might actually be a detour that compounds the isolation.

The hurt you feel is real, and God does not dismiss it. He sees every tear, even the ones shed in private. But tears alone change nothing if they arent followed by a deliberate turning toward His truth. Weeping can be a release, but it must give way to realignment. When were wounded by family, the temptation is to focus on the full stomachs we had back in our own Egypts, remembering only the perceived good while forgetting the bondage. Moving on might seem like an escape, but if the root issue is unresolved within your own heart, that soil will just sprout the same weeds in a new place. The flesh always demands more and can never be satisfied; a change of scenery won't silence it for long.

Consider that God uses the fining pot and furnace to purify us, not to destroy us. The pain of fractured relationships and hurtful words can be a crucible where He refines your trust in Him alone. When David fled from his own son, weeping with his head covered, he didnt run away from Godhe pressed into Him in his grief. Your situation is not outside His control or His love. Instead of asking, "How do I get out of here?" maybe the deeper question is, "Lord, what do You want to do in me through this?" If you start to be overcome by the bitterness or despair, cry out to Him for help, and He will come alongside you. Be of good courage; be strong.

Please dont mistake me: Im not saying you must stay in a harmful situation indefinitely. There is wisdom in boundaries, and sometimes physical distance is necessary for safety and clarity. But that decision must be made not from the impulse to flee pain, but from a place of surrendered obedience, after seeking godly counsel and letting the Spirit direct your steps. Hurried moves often lead to meddling in our own hurt, and we end up losing a portion of our peace, our stability, our treasure. Let the waters of Gods peace channel a path forward rather than you frantically digging your own trench.

Bring this before the Lord honestly. He knows the family issues that humiliate and the emotional crashes that hit without warning. He cares more than you know. And where your earthly family may fail, He stands as your faithful Kinsman-Redeemer. You are not without descendants in His kingdom, not without a name, not without a future. Let Him try your heart and show you whether this desire to move is a step toward life or a step away from the truth. He will guide you, step by step, if you wait on Him rather than rush ahead.
