We hear your cry for help and stand with you in faith, believing that our God is greater than any force of darkness or misfortune. The Bible assures us that "No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that accuses you in judgment. This is the heritage of the Lord’s servants, and their righteousness is from me," says the Lord (Isaiah 54:17). We take authority over every spirit of bad luck, misfortune, or oppression in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for it is written, "The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to him and are safe" (Proverbs 18:10).
First, we must address the foundation of your faith. If you have not yet placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Salvation comes through confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead (Romans 10:9). Without this relationship with Christ, we are powerless against the schemes of the enemy. If you have not surrendered your life to Him, we pray that you would do so today, for "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).
Now, we come together in prayer, rebuking every assignment of the enemy against your life. We declare that every curse, hex, or spell sent your way is broken by the blood of Jesus Christ. Galatians 3:13 tells us, "Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us. For it is written, 'Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree.'" We stand on this truth and command every spirit of bad luck, poverty, confusion, or despair to flee from you in Jesus' name. You are not subject to the whims of fate or the works of darkness, you are a child of the Most High God, and He has plans for you, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother/sister to You, asking that You would break every chain of bad luck, misfortune, or oppression that has been assigned against them. Lord, we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn. We rebuke every spirit of poverty, lack, confusion, and despair in Jesus' name. We command them to flee and never return.
Father, we ask that You would surround them with Your hedge of protection, as You did for Job (Job 1:10). Let Your angels encamp around them, guarding them in all their ways (Psalm 91:11). Fill them with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, and guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Lord, we ask that You would open the windows of heaven and pour out Your blessings upon them. Let them walk in the abundance of Your provision, for You came that they might have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10).
We also pray for wisdom and discernment for our brother/sister. Help them to recognize any areas of their life where they may have unknowingly opened doors to the enemy. Show them if there are any sins, unforgiveness, or ungodly soul ties that need to be broken. Lead them to repentance and restoration, for "if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).
Lord, we ask that You would fill them with Your Holy Spirit, empowering them to walk in victory and authority. Remind them that they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37). Strengthen their faith and help them to stand firm, knowing that the battle belongs to You (2 Chronicles 20:15).
Finally, Father, we ask that You would reveal Your purpose and destiny for their life. Let them walk in the fullness of Your calling, free from the snares of the enemy. May they experience Your goodness and mercy all the days of their life, and may they dwell in Your house forever (Psalm 23:6).
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayer. We trust in Your power and Your promises, and we declare that our brother/sister is set free, in Jesus' name. Amen.
We encourage you to stand firm in your faith and to walk in the authority that Christ has given you. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go (Joshua 1:9). Surround yourself with godly believers who can pray with you and encourage you in your walk with Christ. Renew your mind daily with the Word of God, for "faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17). As you meditate on Scripture, you will grow in your understanding of who you are in Christ and the authority you have over the enemy.
If there are areas of your life where you have knowingly or unknowingly participated in practices that are not of God, such as consulting psychics, using charms, or engaging in any form of witchcraft, we urge you to repent and renounce these things. The Bible is clear that these practices are an abomination to the Lord (Deuteronomy 18:10-12). Confess these sins to God, ask for His forgiveness, and turn away from them completely. God is faithful to forgive and cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).
Lastly, we encourage you to cultivate a lifestyle of worship and prayer. Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you (James 4:8). As you seek Him with all your heart, you will find Him (Jeremiah 29:13). Walk in obedience to His Word, and you will experience the blessings and protection that come from living a life pleasing to Him. You speak of a thing upon you causing bad luck, as if some dark sprite or spiteful imp clung to your garments. But I would have you lift your eyes higher, to the true curse that rests upon every soul outside of Christ. It is not a hex or a chance misfortune, it is the holy wrath of God against sin, the curse of the Law, written in thunder upon Sinai, and it lies heavy upon all who have not fled to the Cross. Learn, then, what that curse is: it is the sentence of death, the separation from God, the certain plunge into the Pit, because you have broken His righteous commands. Every sorrow, every trial, every seeming ill luck in this world is but a faint echo of that eternal curse. You do not need a spell lifted; you need your sins forgiven, the guilt washed away, the curse removed, and that not by any incantation, but by the precious blood of Jesus Christ, who was made a curse for us, as it is written, “Cursed is everyone that hangs on a tree.”
Think not that I speak harshly; I do but press the truth in love. This removal of the curse is done in a moment, the instant a poor sinner looks by faith to the Crucified One. It is an entire removal, not part of the curse, but all of it. When the Lord applies the cleansing fountain opened for sin and uncleanness, He does not say, “Thunders, diminish your force,” but He silences them all. Christ has borne the whole storm, and the soul that takes refuge in Him hears no more the peal of condemnation. Yet I fear you are seeking deliverance from mere symptoms, the prickings of the briar, while the root of the poison tree remains. If you are not born again, you are still under the curse, and the worst is yet to come. What you call “bad luck” may be the ropes dragging you toward the Pit, or it may be the loving cords of a Father’s correction if you are already His child. Examine yourself: have you been to the Cross? Have you seen Him hanging there, bearing your sin in His own body? Have you cried, “Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow”? If not, then stop your fretting over luck, and flee to the Ransom God has found.
Cry no more to the empty air about a thing upon you; cry rather to the living God, who says, “I will sprinkle clean water upon you, and you shall be clean.” All your efforts to scrub away misfortune by your own doings, your religious observance, your coin given to the poor, are but snow-water upon a blackened skin, you are still foul in His sight. The only cleansing that avails is that which He applies by the Holy Spirit through faith in Christ Jesus. And this deliverance, when it comes, is joined with enrichment: He brought His people forth with silver and gold; and he who trusts in Jesus finds even his trials turned to blessing, his losses to gain, his sores to healing graces. The curse is swallowed up in blessing, for Christ is all.
Therefore, cease to look for some token or sensation of a malady removed, and look only to the Substitute. If you are indeed in Him, the curse is gone, utterly and forever, and whatever befalls you is no “bad luck” but the wise appointment of your Father’s hand. If you are not in Him, then you are yet under the heavy wrath, and I bid you escape for your life. Do not wait another hour. The clock of mercy struck in Heaven the hour of your deliverance when Jesus cried, “It is finished.” Only believe, and all that curse, with its hell-born fears, shall be lifted from your soul. It is not some stray, invisible force clinging to your life; it is the curse of the Law, under which every soul groans. For it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the Law, to do them. And who among mortals has ever continued in them? None. That curse hangs over us all, heavier than any misfortune you imagine. It brings not mere bad luck but eternal ruin.
Yet listen to the good tidings. Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the Law, having become a curse for us. He who knew no sin, in whose mouth no deceit was found, took upon Himself the curse of the tree, though He was utterly innocent, so that He might lift our curse and clothe us with blessing. Do you see the exchange? He bore what we deserved, so we might receive what we could never earn.
Do not run after amulets or words to send away bad luck. That is to make things worse, for it is not external shadows that defile, but the intention of the heart. The true cleansing comes when you mourn over your sins. Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted. If you seek deliverance, go to Christ with a broken and contrite spirit. You are reaching out because you feel something is on you, bringing persistent trouble, and you want it gone for good. That desire for relief is understandable. But let me offer a different way of seeing this, drawn from Scripture.
In the Gospel of Luke, we meet a couple, Zacharias and Elizabeth. In their culture, childlessness was considered a curse, a mark of divine displeasure. Everyone would have accepted it if Zacharias had divorced her. Yet God's word calls them both righteous, walking blamelessly in His commandments. What their society labeled a curse was actually the stage God had set for a miracle. Their years of waiting, even when they were bent with age, were not wasted. The Lord was preparing to break four centuries of prophetic silence through their son, John. What people called bad luck was really an invitation to trust God's hidden purposes.
Too often, when we feel something negative pressing on us, we only pray for its removal. We treat the problem like an intruder to be evicted, but we forget that an empty house invites worse squatters. I have seen people seek deliverance from darkness without asking the Deliverer to take up residence. That is why I don’t simply pray for something to be sent away. I pray for the power of Jesus Christ to enter in. His light and darkness cannot share the same space. When He fills a life, the other has to go. That is a foregone conclusion.
You might be tempted to look for a dramatic, sensational fix, some sign that what troubled you is banished. Satan once tempted Jesus to throw Himself from the temple to prove God’s protection, but Jesus refused to manipulate or demand a spectacle. He trusted the Father’s timing and plan. Our deliverance comes not by forcing God’s hand but by submitting to His way. Jesus came to preach deliverance to the captives and to set at liberty those who are bruised, but that freedom is found in surrender to Him, not in a formula.
Also, consider whether your focus on bad luck has edged into a critical mindset. When we fixate on what’s wrong, we can become fault-finders, training our eyes to see only the negative. That spirit can defile us without our realizing it. Instead, lift your eyes to God’s faithfulness. His purposes will stand. He is able to take what the world mislabels as a curse and turn it into a conduit of grace, if we let Him.
So rather than just asking for something to be sent away, invite the Lord to fill every part of you. Repent of any sin, renounce any foothold you may have given the enemy through repeated, ungodly choices, and ask the Holy Spirit to take control. God’s work will go forward. You can be part of it, or you can lose out by clinging only to the idea of removing a curse. Let this season drive you deeper into Christ. He is your shield, and His presence is your permanent answer.
In the Gospel of Luke, we meet a couple, Zacharias and Elizabeth. In their culture, childlessness was considered a curse, a mark of divine displeasure. Everyone would have accepted it if Zacharias had divorced her. Yet God's word calls them both righteous, walking blamelessly in His commandments. What their society labeled a curse was actually the stage God had set for a miracle. Their years of waiting, even when they were bent with age, were not wasted. The Lord was preparing to break four centuries of prophetic silence through their son, John. What people called bad luck was really an invitation to trust God's hidden purposes.
Too often, when we feel something negative pressing on us, we only pray for its removal. We treat the problem like an intruder to be evicted, but we forget that an empty house invites worse squatters. I have seen people seek deliverance from darkness without asking the Deliverer to take up residence. That is why I don’t simply pray for something to be sent away. I pray for the power of Jesus Christ to enter in. His light and darkness cannot share the same space. When He fills a life, the other has to go. That is a foregone conclusion.
