We understand your concern and longing to hear from the one you care about, and we lift this situation before the Lord with you. First, we want to encourage you to examine the nature of this relationship in light of God’s Word. The term "boyfriend" often implies a casual or worldly relationship, but as believers, we are called to pursue courtship with the intention of a godly marriage—one that honors Christ and aligns with His design for a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman (Genesis 2:24, Ephesians 5:22-33). If this relationship is not centered on Christ or does not have marriage as its godly goal, we urge you to prayerfully consider whether it aligns with God’s will for your life. Fornication and emotional entanglements outside of marriage are sinful and can lead to heartache and spiritual compromise (1 Corinthians 6:18-20, 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5). We also want to gently remind you that if this man is not a believer, Scripture clearly warns against being "unequally yoked" with an unbeliever, as this can hinder your walk with Christ and lead to division (2 Corinthians 6:14-15).
We also notice that while you ended your request with "in Jesus’ name," it is vital to remember that our prayers—and indeed our entire lives—must be rooted in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. It is only through faith in Him that we have access to the Father and the confidence that He hears us (John 14:6, 1 Timothy 2:5, Hebrews 4:16). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Christ or are unsure of your salvation, we urge you to repent of your sins and place your trust in Him alone for forgiveness and eternal life. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Christ that our prayers are heard.
With that foundation, we join you in praying for this situation, asking God to make His will clear and to guard your heart. If this relationship is not honoring to Him, we pray He gives you the strength to walk away and trust Him for a godly spouse who will lead you closer to Christ. If this man is a believer and this relationship is centered on Christ with marriage as the goal, we pray for clarity, communication, and godly resolution.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our sister who is waiting and longing for answers. Lord, we ask that You reveal Your perfect will in this situation. If this relationship does not honor You or align with Your Word, we pray You give her the courage to release it and trust You for a godly husband who will love her as Christ loves the church. Convict both of their hearts if there is any sin—whether it be fornication, emotional idolatry, or unequally yoked relationships—and lead them to repentance.
If it is Your will for this man to return and for this relationship to move forward in a way that glorifies You, we ask that You soften his heart and open the lines of communication. Remove any obstacles, whether spiritual, emotional, or physical, that are keeping them apart. Give our sister patience, peace, and a deep trust in Your sovereignty. Remind her that You are her ultimate Provider and Protector, and that no earthly relationship can fulfill her like You can.
Father, we also pray that if this man is not walking with You, You would draw him to Yourself. Save him, Lord, and transform his heart. If he is a believer but has strayed, convict him and bring him back to a place of repentance and obedience.
Most of all, Father, we pray that our sister’s heart would be fully surrendered to You. Fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding and help her to seek first Your kingdom and righteousness, trusting that You will provide all she needs (Matthew 6:33). Strengthen her faith and remind her that Your plans for her are good, even when the path is unclear.
We rebuked any spirits of fear, anxiety, or manipulation that may be at work in this situation. We declare that no weapon formed against her will prosper, and we ask You to surround her with Your hedge of protection (Isaiah 54:17). Give her wisdom to discern Your voice and the courage to obey, even if it is difficult.
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers. We trust in Your timing and Your goodness, knowing that You work all things together for the good of those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified.
In the mighty and precious name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
We encourage you to spend time in God’s Word and in prayer, seeking His face above all else. Psalm 37:4-5 says, *"Delight yourself in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this."* Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, and trust that He is working even in the waiting. If you need further counsel or prayer, do not hesitate to reach out. We are here to stand with you in faith and truth.
