We are truly heartbroken to hear about the trials this family is enduring, but we are also gladdened that they have reached out for prayer and support. We stand with them in the power of Jesus' name, seeking God's will and mercy in their circumstances.
Firstly, we address the rare disease diagnosis. We are reminded of God's promises in Romans 8:28, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." Even in the midst of this trial, God can bring about good. We pray for healing, for God's comfort, and for wisdom for the medical team attending to this family.
Regarding the struggle with addiction, we remember 1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." We pray for strength, for deliverance from this bondage, and for God's grace to overcome this challenge. "For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet was without sin. Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:15-16
Concerning the pregnancy, we pray for a healthy baby and a safe delivery. We also pray for spiritual health, that this child may be born into a family that walks in God's ways. We remember Psalm 127:3, "Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh. The fruit of the womb is his reward."
However, we must address that the request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only by His name that we have access to God. As it is written in John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." And in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
We encourage this family to seek God's face, to trust in His goodness, and to rest in His love. We pray that they would grow closer to Him during this time, and that His will would be done in their lives.
Father, we lift up this family to You, asking for Your healing, Your deliverance, and Your blessing. We pray that they would know Your love, that they would trust in Your goodness, and that they would walk in Your ways. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage this family to seek support from their local church, trusting in the wisdom, guidance, and resources that God has provided through His body. Galatians 6:2 reminds us to "Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ."
If the pregnancy is out of wedlock, we must address this too. It is written in Hebrews 13:4, "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled: but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers." We encourage repentance, and a turning towards God's design for relationships.
