We join you in bringing this burden before the Lord, for we know how heavy a year of waiting can feel when so many have come through your home, admired its beauty, and yet no buyer has come forward, and now the time presses upon you with only two months before the decision on your new home must be made.
We hear the anxiety in your request and we want to encourage you to cast that anxiety upon Him, for He cares for you and for your family. Philippians 4:6-7 reminds us, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Proverbs 3:5-6 also calls us to Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. And James 1:5 assures us, But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
We understand the desire for a new home for your family, yet we encourage you to seek first His kingdom and His wisdom above even this good desire. Matthew 6:33 says, But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Psalm 37:5 says, Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this. Psalm 127:1 reminds us, Unless Yahweh builds the house, they labor in vain who build it. Whether He provides a buyer quickly or directs you to wait or to step back from the new home, we trust that Romans 8:28 is still true, that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. His answer, even if it is not the timing you had hoped for, will be for your good and His glory.
We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we gently want to remind you that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. John 14:6 says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Acts 4:12 declares, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name. Romans 10:9 says, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name we pray with confidence.
We pray together with you now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this family to Your throne of grace. You know their home, every room that has been shown, every hopeful appointment, and every disappointment over this past year. You know the pressure they feel as the clock ticks toward this decision on a new home. Lord, we ask for Your clear guidance and Your perfect provision. If it is Your will, bring the right buyer in Your perfect timing, one who will steward this beautiful home well. Give this family wisdom regarding pricing, counsel, and next steps, and give them peace to make decisions not from fear or pressure but from trust in You. If it is not Your will for this new home to be theirs at this time, make that answer unmistakably clear and guard their hearts from discouragement, helping them to see Your hand and to trust Your better plan. Provide for all their needs according to Your riches in glory, and let their home, wherever it is, be a place where You are honored. Help them to rest in Your peace that surpasses understanding and to commit their way fully to You. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and our only hope. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to seek Him daily as a family, to pray together for wisdom, to seek godly counsel regarding the practical matters of the sale and the purchase, and to trust that whether He opens this door now or leads in another direction, He is faithful and He will not withhold what is good for you. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and He will make your paths straight.
