Help to submit to God's will and lay down alcohol.

Beloved of All
I've recently moved home after a breakup of a ten year relationship. I feel I've lost everything so I picked up a bottle and am struggling to give it up. I gave my life back to God.... But am stuck in this cycle every day. All prayers are much appreciated, God bless!🙌

We lift you up before the Father in this moment of deep struggle, knowing that His grace is sufficient for you, for His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9). Your heart’s cry to submit to God’s will and lay down the stronghold of alcohol is one He hears with compassion, and we stand with you in this battle, for the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

First, we must address the pain of this season—your breakup has left you feeling as though you’ve lost everything, and the enemy has used this wound to tempt you with a false comfort that only deepens the bondage. But take heart, beloved: what the enemy means for harm, God will use for good (Genesis 50:20). This relationship, though long, was not ordained by God to be your ultimate fulfillment—only He can fill the void in your soul. We gently but firmly remind you that outside of marriage, relationships are not God’s design for lifelong commitment, and we pray that in this season of singleness, you would seek Him first, allowing Him to heal and prepare you for the godly marriage He may have in store—or for a life fully devoted to His service, whichever He wills.

The alcohol you’ve turned to is a snare, a temporary numbing that steals your joy, your clarity, and your ability to walk in the freedom Christ died to give you. The Bible warns, “Do not get drunk with wine, which will only ruin you, but be filled with the Spirit” (Ephesians 5:18). This struggle is not just a habit—it is a spiritual battle. You cannot break free in your own strength, but through Christ, who strengthens you (Philippians 4:13), you *can* overcome. The first step is surrender: confess this sin before the Lord, repent, and ask Him to break its power over you. Then, *actively* flee from it. This may mean removing every bottle from your home, avoiding places or people that tempt you, and filling your time with Scripture, worship, and fellowship with believers who will hold you accountable.

You’ve already taken the most critical step by rededicating your life to Christ—now cling to Him with everything in you. When the craving comes, cry out to Jesus, quote Scripture aloud (like 1 Corinthians 10:13: “No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure”), and *replace* the habit with prayer, worship, or serving others. The Holy Spirit within you is greater than the spirit of addiction (1 John 4:4).

We also urge you to seek godly counsel—whether through your church, a trusted pastor, or a Christ-centered recovery group. You were not meant to walk this road alone. The body of Christ is here to uphold you, and we are praying fervently for you now:

---
*Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of Your child, who is weary and wounded but longing for Your will. Lord, You see the depth of their pain—the grief over lost years, the shame of this struggle, the fear of never being free. But You are the God who redeems, who turns ashes into beauty and mourning into joy (Isaiah 61:3). We ask You to break the chains of alcohol in Jesus’ name. Fill every empty place in their heart with Your presence, Your peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7). Give them the strength to say “no” to temptation and “yes” to Your Spirit’s leading.

Father, heal the brokenness from this past relationship. Restore their identity in You—remind them they are *yours*, bought with a price (1 Corinthians 6:20), and their worth is found in Christ alone. Surround them with Your people who will walk alongside them in this fight. Open their eyes to the traps of the enemy and equip them with Your Word as their sword (Ephesians 6:17).

Lord, we declare freedom over them in the name of Jesus. Let this be the day they step out of the cycle of bondage and into the light of Your love. Fill them afresh with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in victory and testify to Your goodness. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Deliverer. Amen.*

Beloved, this battle is not yours to fight alone. The same God who parted the Red Sea and raised Christ from the dead is fighting for you. Keep your eyes on Him, not on the storm. When you fall, get back up—repent, receive His mercy, and press on (Proverbs 24:16). He is making you new, day by day (2 Corinthians 4:16). Stay in His Word, stay in prayer, and *do not give up*. We are standing with you, and greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).

If you stumble, reach out to us again. We are here to pray, to encourage, and to point you back to Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). You *will* overcome this, not by your might, but by His Spirit. To God be the glory!

Hey there,

We've been thinking about you and wanted to reach out with a word of encouragement. We know that life can feel overwhelming at times, and it's easy to turn to things that promise a quick fix, like alcohol. But remember, God has a better plan for you. He wants to fill the void in your heart, not with a temporary numbness, but with His love and peace.

We want to remind you that you're not alone in this. We're here for you, cheering you on, and most importantly, God is right there with you. He sees your struggle, and He's ready to help you overcome it.

Here's what we'd like to encourage you today:

1. **Keep talking to God**: He's always there to listen. Pour out your heart to Him, tell Him how you're feeling, and ask Him for strength.

2. **Surround yourself with good people**: Connect with your church community, trusted friends, or a support group. They can hold you accountable and encourage you on your journey.

3. **Replace old habits with new ones**: Instead of reaching for a bottle, reach for your Bible. Instead of going to a bar, go for a walk in nature. Fill your time with things that nourish your soul.

4. **Remember, you're a work in progress**: Change takes time, and it's okay to have setbacks. Don't be too hard on yourself. Keep moving forward, one step at a time.

We're praying for you, that God would give you the strength to resist temptation, the courage to keep trying, and the faith to trust in His plan for your life. You've got this, with God by your side.

Keep fighting the good fight, and know that we're right here with you, every step of the way.

In Jesus' name, we pray.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God Loves You. Thank You Jesus!!!
