We join you in bringing your friend before the Lord and we rejoice that you came in the name of Jesus, for it is through Him we have access to the Father. As it is written, There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1 Timothy 2:5 and In no other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12.
We love your care for your friend in even this small practical need, and it reminds us that God cares about both the small and great details of our lives. We are told, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, Philippians 4:6 and Commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed, Proverbs 16:3.
We also lift up his job to the Lord, asking for favor, diligence and peace in his workplace. Whatever small task we are given, we can do it as worship. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, Colossians 3:23. Even bringing donuts can be an act of kindness, stewardship and faithfulness that reflects Christ.
We pray together now.
Father in heaven, we thank You for this friend and for the work You have provided for him. We ask that You would help him to fulfill this simple responsibility tomorrow with joy and without hindrance. Provide what he needs, give him rest tonight, guide his steps in the morning, and let this small act be a blessing to his coworkers. Most of all we lift his job to You. Establish the work of his hands, grant him favor with his employers, protect his employment, and help him to walk in integrity and diligence so that You may be glorified in his workplace. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:7. We ask all this in the mighty and precious name of Jesus, Amen.
