Help, support, mercy

Anonymous

Beloved of All
God, I have been praying for a long time — since I was pregnant — and instead of things getting easier, they have gotten harder. I don’t know what to make of that anymore. I am tired of waiting. I am tired of hoping quietly. I am tired of carrying this alone. If You are listening, please hear this without judgment: I need real help, not just endurance. I need mercy, not more lessons. I need support that shows up, not silence. I am overwhelmed in my body and my mind. I am raising my child without safety, without backup, without rest. I am trying to survive in a place I cannot stay. I am trying to work when doors will not open. I am trying to heal when stress never lets up. Please send help in a form I can actually use. Send the right people — kind, safe, respectful people — who will not judge me, analyze me, or harm me. People who understand boundaries. People who protect my child and my privacy. Please open a path to safe housing for me, my baby, and my cat. Please open a path to work that can sustain us. Please remove what is keeping me trapped, because I cannot see how to do it on my own. If I am angry, hold that too. If I am numb, don’t turn away. If I have no words left, hear the silence. I am not asking to be strong anymore. I am asking to be supported. I am asking for relief. I am asking for safety. If hope is too heavy to carry right now, carry it for me — and send help soon. Amen.

We hear the raw, aching cry of your heart, and we come before the throne of grace with you, lifting up your burdens as if they were our own. Your words are not met with judgment here, but with the compassion of Christ, who Himself was "a man of suffering, and familiar with pain" (Isaiah 53:3). You are not alone, even when it feels like the silence is deafening. The Lord hears the prayers of the weary, and He does not turn away from those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

First, we must address the foundation of your plea. You have cried out to "God" without mentioning the name of Jesus Christ, and this is not a small matter. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him. If you have not placed your trust in Him as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so now. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). This is the first and most critical step in finding true relief and hope.

Now, let us lift your specific requests to the Lord in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear sister who is carrying burdens far too heavy for her to bear alone. Lord, You see her exhaustion, her desperation, and her longing for relief. You know the weight of raising a child without safety, without rest, and without support. You know the stress that never lets up and the doors that seem sealed shut. Father, we ask that You would move in power on her behalf. Open a path to safe housing for her, her child, and her pet. Provide work that will sustain them, and remove every obstacle that keeps her trapped. Send kind, safe, and respectful people into her life—those who will not judge or harm, but who will uphold her dignity, protect her child, and respect her boundaries.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of isolation and despair that has taken hold. We declare that You are her refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). You have not forgotten her, and You will not abandon her. We ask that You would surround her with Your love in tangible ways—through the hands and feet of Your people, through provision that meets her needs, and through peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Father, if she is angry, hold her anger. If she is numb, do not turn away. If she has no words left, hear the silence. You are near to the brokenhearted, and You save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).

We also pray for her child, Lord. Protect this little one from harm, from fear, and from the effects of stress and instability. Provide for every need, seen and unseen, and let this child grow up knowing the love and security of Your presence. We ask that You would soften hearts around her—landlords, employers, social workers, and neighbors—so that they would act with compassion and justice.

Father, we know that You are a God who hears and answers prayer. You are not a God of empty platitudes or distant silence. You are the God who parted the Red Sea, who fed the five thousand, and who raised Jesus from the dead. You are the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). We trust that You will act on her behalf, even when the wait feels unbearable. Strengthen her faith, Lord, and help her to see Your hand at work, even in the small things. Remind her that You are carrying her hope when it feels too heavy to hold.

We also want to gently address the reality of sin and its consequences. The Bible tells us that we live in a fallen world, and the struggles you are facing may be the result of sin—either your own, the sin of others, or the brokenness of the world itself. But we serve a God who is in the business of redemption. He can take the ashes of our lives and turn them into something beautiful (Isaiah 61:3). If there are areas in your life where you need to repent or seek forgiveness, we encourage you to do so. Confess your sins to the Lord, and He is faithful and just to forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). If there are relationships or situations that are toxic or sinful, we urge you to seek godly counsel and wisdom to navigate them in a way that honors God.

In the meantime, we want to encourage you with the truth of God’s Word. The psalmist wrote, "Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never permit the righteous to be moved" (Psalm 55:22). You are not meant to carry this alone. The Lord invites you to cast all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). He is your ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1), and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).

We also want to remind you that the body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2). If you are not already connected to a local church, we strongly encourage you to seek out a Bible-believing, Christ-centered community where you can find support, encouragement, and practical help. The early church shared everything they had, and no one among them lacked (Acts 4:32-35). While not every church may live up to this ideal, there are many faithful believers who would be honored to walk alongside you in this season.

Finally, we want to speak a word of hope over you. The Lord is not slow in keeping His promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, He is patient, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). He is working all things together for your good, even when you cannot see it (Romans 8:28). Your current struggles do not define your future. God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us (Ephesians 3:20). Keep pressing into Him, even when it feels like you have nothing left to give. He is your strength in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9), and He will not let you be shaken.

We will continue to stand in the gap for you, lifting you up in prayer and trusting that the Lord will move on your behalf. You are not forgotten. You are not abandoned. You are deeply loved by the Creator of the universe, and He will not leave you in this place of despair. Hold on to hope, even if it is just a thread. The Lord is faithful, and He will see you through.
