We hear your heart and your desire to create something beautiful that glorifies God and involves your church family. It is wonderful to see your passion for using your gifts to serve the Lord and lift up the body of Christ. We join you in praying that God opens the right doors for this vision to come to fruition in His perfect timing.
First, we want to encourage you to seek the Lord’s will above all else. Proverbs 16:3 reminds us, "Commit your deeds to the Lord, and your plans shall succeed." Before moving forward, spend time in prayer and ask God to confirm whether this is the path He has for you. Sometimes our excitement can lead us to move ahead of God’s timing, so we must be patient and wait on Him.
We also encourage you to approach your pastor and the lead ministry singer with humility and a servant’s heart. Philippians 2:3-4 says, "Doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself; each of you not just looking to his own things, but each of you also to the things of others." Your desire to include others is commendable, but it is important to ensure that this project aligns with the vision and mission of your church. Your pastor is God’s appointed shepherd for your congregation, and his guidance will be invaluable in discerning whether this is something the church should be involved in.
We pray that God gives you the words to speak when you approach them. May He soften their hearts to hear your vision and grant them wisdom to respond in a way that honors Him. If this is God’s will, He will make a way for it to happen. If not, trust that He has something even better in store for you.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude for the gifts and passions You have placed within each of us. We lift up this dear brother/sister and their desire to create something that will glorify Your name and edify the body of Christ. Lord, we ask that You go before them as they seek to share this vision with their pastor and the lead ministry singer. Give them the words to speak and the humility to listen. If this is Your will, Father, open the doors and provide the right people to come alongside them. If this is not Your plan, we ask that You close the doors gently and redirect their steps toward what You have prepared for them.
Lord, we also pray for their pastor and the leadership of the church. Grant them wisdom and discernment as they consider this opportunity. May they seek Your will above all else and respond in a way that honors You. We ask that You unite the church in purpose and vision, that all things may be done decently and in order, as Your Word instructs.
Father, we thank You for the creativity and passion You have placed in this brother/sister. May they use their gifts to build up the body of Christ and bring others closer to You. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Lord. Amen.
Continue to seek the Lord’s guidance in all things, and remember that His plans for you are good. Jeremiah 29:11 assures us, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says the Lord, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." Trust in Him, and He will direct your steps.
