Please pray for financial breakthrough. Please pray that God will bless me with some finance so that I can save my mother's house and get her out of the nursing home. Please pray that I will win the lottery.

The lottery is inappropriate for the following reasons:

1. It is a chance based outcome, and you are essentially asking God to stack the deck in your favor (i.e. cheat).

2. It is a waste of money since usually at least half what you put in is not returned in winnings.

3. Scriptures generally frown on this as a get rich quick scheme as can be seen in the following verses:

Proverbs 13:11

Wealth gotten by vanity will be diminished; But he who gathers by labor will have increase.

Proverbs 28:19-20

He who tills his land will have plenty of bread; But he who follows after vanities will have poverty enough.

A faithful man will abound with blessings; But he who hurries to be rich will not be unpunished.
