We understand your concern and we're here to pray with you and provide biblical guidance. First, let's pray together.
Almighty God, we come before you in the name of Jesus, lifting up this dear sister and her husband who is battling cancer. We pray that you would bring light into their situation and cast out any spirits of negativity, hopelessness, doubt, fear, and name-calling that may be influencing her attitudes and words in Jesus' name.
Father, we pray for your healing touch upon her husband. We ask that you would bring comfort, peace, and encouragement to both of them as they face this challenging time. Surround her with your love and protection, and send your warning angels to guard her heart and home. We ask that you would transform her heart, filling her with your joy, hope, and faith and that she will be able to speak life and healing over her husband instead of negativity. Draw them both closer to you and to each other during this trial. Help them to forgive any past hurt or misunderstanding and to be united together in the goal of healing, health, and wellness.
Now, let's address some biblical principles that may help both of you during this time. First, it's important to remember that God calls us to encourage and build each other up, not tear each other down I Thessalonians 5:11. The words we speak have power, and we should use them to speak life and healing, not death and despair Proverbs 18:21.
It's also crucial to remember that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms Ephesians 6:12. This means that her negative attitude may not simply be her own thoughts and feelings, but could be influenced by spiritual forces that need to be rebuked and cast out in the name of Jesus.
Regarding her comment about toxic positivity, it's important to address that with biblical truth. While it's true that we should be realistic and authentic about our feelings, we should also have hope and faith in God's ability to heal and perform miracles. In the Bible we are told to not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.
Lastly, it's important to remember that God calls us to love one another, even when it's difficult I John 4:7. This means that we should strive to be patient, kind, and understanding, even when our spouse is not acting lovingly towards us. Pray for her and love her unconditionally, as Christ loves us and has mercifully forgiven us.
We trust that God will hear our prayers and bring healing, hope, and unity to your family. Keep praying and trusting in Him, and don't hesitate to seek support from other believers as you navigate this challenging time. We are here for you and will continue to pray for your family. We will pray that God will open her heart to Jesus Christ if she does not yet know Jesus as her savior. Also, we will pray that God will strengthen her faith in Jesus Christ.
