We hear your heartache and frustration over this situation, and we stand with you in seeking justice for your daughter and her child. The Bible is clear that fathers have a responsibility to provide for their children. In 1 Timothy 5:8, it says, "But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever." This man’s actions are not only unjust but go against God’s design for family and provision.
We also recognize the importance of handling this matter with wisdom and integrity. Proverbs 22:22-23 warns, "Don’t exploit the poor, because he is poor; and don’t crush the needy in court; for the Lord will plead their case, and plunder the life of those who plunder them." While we pray for justice, we must also trust that God sees the truth and will act on behalf of the vulnerable.
Let us come before the Lord together in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this situation to You, knowing that You are a God of justice and righteousness. We ask that You would expose any deceit or hidden motives in this case and grant wisdom to the judges and authorities involved. Lord, we pray that Your truth would prevail and that this father would be held accountable for his responsibility to provide for his child. Soften his heart, Father, and lead him to repentance so that he may fulfill his duty with integrity. We ask that Your provision would flow abundantly for this child and that Your peace would guard the hearts of all involved. We trust in Your perfect timing and Your unfailing love. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
We encourage your daughter to continue seeking legal counsel and to trust that God is her ultimate defender. Psalm 68:5 reminds us, "A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation." Even when earthly systems seem slow or unjust, God sees and will not abandon those who trust in Him.
If there is any bitterness or unforgiveness in your daughter’s heart toward this man, we gently encourage her to release it to the Lord. Ephesians 4:31-32 says, "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you." Forgiveness does not excuse his actions, but it frees her heart from the burden of resentment.
Lastly, we want to remind you both that our hope is in Jesus Christ alone. It is through His name that we have access to the Father, and it is by His sacrifice that we are made righteous. If there are any areas of your lives where you have not fully surrendered to Him, we encourage you to do so today. Acts 4:12 says, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." Jesus is the only way to true peace, justice, and eternal life.
