We hear your heart in this and we want to lift you up together before the Lord, for you are not a moron or a fool in His eyes. You are fearfully and wonderfully made and deeply loved by Him. Psalm 139:14 says we are fearfully and wonderfully made, and Ephesians 2:10 says we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works. The enemy wants you to live under condemnation and shame for your mistakes, but we want to gently correct that label you have put on yourself. There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, Romans 8:1. We all make mistakes, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Romans 3:23, but God's grace is greater than our failures and His mercies are new every morning, Lamentations 3:23. Proverbs 24:16 reminds us that a righteous man falls seven times and rises up again.
We understand how heavy it feels when your mum keeps mentioning your mistakes. It can make you feel more anxious and then you make even more mistakes. We pray for your mum, whose mental health you say is not good and who has become very strict. We honor the command to honor your father and your mother, Exodus 20:12, and we encourage you to continue to show respect even while you are hurting. At the same time Scripture says fathers and mothers should not provoke their children to anger, Ephesians 6:4, and a gentle answer turns away wrath, Proverbs 15:1. We pray the Lord will soften her heart, give her peace, and help you both to communicate with more grace and patience. If her strictness or mental health struggles become overwhelming, we encourage you to seek help from a trusted pastor, counselor, or another safe adult in your church family, for God wants to bring support around you.
We are also praying for your dad who is sick and who you feel was treated badly. We ask the Lord to bring healing and comfort to him, and peace to your home when things are going wrong that are not all his fault. James 5:15 says the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. We pray he will be well enough soon to do the things he needs to do, and that the Lord will be your refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, Psalm 46:1, even over concerns about water damage and being forced to take your room apart while you are out of town.
We hear your worries about money, whether you are allowed to keep what you earned, and about your period coming early, and about whether you are allowed to go to church, and about the weather. We want to remind you that your mistakes do not disqualify you from coming into God's house. We are all welcomed by grace, not by perfection, and we should not forsake assembling together, Hebrews 10:25. Church is precisely the place for those who feel weak and need grace. Do not let shame keep you away. We pray you are able to go today and be encouraged. We also cast your anxieties about your body, your finances, and the weather on Him, because He cares for you, 1 Peter 5:7. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7. Your heavenly Father knows you need these things and will supply every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:19. And for tomorrow's worries about rain or other things, Jesus said do not be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself, Matthew 6:34.
We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to share how important that is, because it is only through Jesus that we have access to God. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to call on Him, confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved, Romans 10:9. It is by His blood that our mistakes are forgiven when we repent and trust Him.
We pray together now for you.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and lift up this precious one to You. Lord, quiet the voice of condemnation that calls her a moron and a fool, and let her hear Your voice that calls her Your beloved child. Forgive her mistakes as she confesses them to You, and help her to forgive herself and to learn and grow in wisdom. Fill her with Your peace that guards her heart and mind. We pray for her mum, Lord, bring healing to her mind and emotions, soften her heart, give her rest and help her to speak with grace and encouragement. We pray for her dad, touch his body and bring healing and strength. Provide for their financial needs and give wisdom about the money concerns. Calm her anxiety about her body and her health, remind her that You designed her and You care for every detail. Provide safety from water damage and give wisdom for practical matters about their home. Lord, make a way for her to go to church today if it is Your will, and let her find joy and belonging there no matter the weather. Lead her in Your will and help her to know she is fully loved and fully welcome in Your presence through Jesus. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
