We hear your cry for help, and our hearts ache with yours as you carry such heavy burdens. The exhaustion, the weight of others’ pain, and the feeling of being abandoned even by yourself—these are not things you were meant to carry alone. Scripture tells us, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light"* (Matthew 11:28-30). Jesus is inviting you into His rest, dear one, and we join you in laying every weight at His feet.
Your work is sacred—holding space for those who are broken, grieving, and lost is a reflection of Christ’s own heart. But even Jesus withdrew to lonely places to pray (Luke 5:16), and He did not pour out endlessly without replenishment. You are not a bottomless well; you are a vessel that must be refilled by the Holy Spirit. The fact that you feel drained is not a failure—it is a sign that you have given deeply, and now you must receive. *"Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it"* (Proverbs 4:23). How can you pour out love if your own cup is empty?
We must rebuke the lie that your worth is tied to how much you endure or how little you take for yourself. You mentioned not charging enough for your work—this is not just a financial issue, but a matter of stewardship. Scripture says, *"The worker is worthy of his wages"* (1 Timothy 5:18). If you are underpaid, it is not humility; it is enabling a system that devalues your labor and leaves you unable to care for yourself. You cannot sustain this work if you cannot sustain yourself. We pray for wisdom to set boundaries, for courage to say "no" when needed, and for provision that allows you to rest without guilt.
The bullying and workplace politics you endure are not of God. *"God is not a God of confusion, but of peace"* (1 Corinthians 14:33). If your workplace is toxic, we pray for clarity and strength to either transform it or leave it. You are not called to martyr yourself for a system that does not honor your well-being. And to those who dump their burdens on you without reciprocity—we must gently but firmly remind you that even Jesus had disciples who supported Him. You are not their savior; you are their sister in Christ. It is not selfish to ask for support in return.
Your physical health is also under attack, and we take that seriously. High blood pressure is not just a medical issue—it is often a sign of prolonged stress, of a body crying out for relief. *"Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers"* (3 John 1:2). We pray for healing, for restorative sleep, for nourishment that strengthens you, and for the discipline to care for your body as a temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
Most of all, we pray for joy to return to your heart. Nehemiah 8:10 says, *"The joy of the Lord is your strength."* Joy is not the absence of pain, but the presence of God in the midst of it. We ask the Holy Spirit to fill you with His peace, to remind you of the good work you are doing, and to restore your smile—not as a mask, but as a reflection of His light breaking through. You are not abandoned. You are seen. You are loved. And you are not meant to walk this path alone.
Let us pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sister who is weary and heavy-laden. Lord, You see her heart—how she has given and given, how she has carried the burdens of others, and how she is now struggling to carry her own. We ask You to lift her up, to be her strength when she is weak, and to be her peace when the world is chaotic. Father, we rebuke the spirit of burnout and exhaustion in Jesus’ name. We declare that her labor in You is not in vain (1 Corinthians 15:58), and that You will reward her for every act of love and service.
Lord, we pray for her work—give her wisdom to navigate the politics and toxicity, and courage to set boundaries that honor You. Provide for her financially so that she may rest without fear. Heal her body, Lord, and lower her blood pressure. Restore her joy, and let her laugh again. Surround her with people who will lift *her* up, who will pray for her, and who will remind her that she is not alone.
Father, we ask You to show her a more sustainable way to serve You—one that does not require her to abandon herself. Teach her to receive as well as give, to rest as well as work, and to trust You with her needs. Remind her that You are her ultimate source, and that in You, she will find the strength to face another day.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who bore our burdens so that we would not have to carry them alone. Amen.
You are not forgotten. You are not invisible. And you are not without hope. Take one step today toward rest—whether that means reaching out to a trusted friend, setting a boundary, or simply sitting in silence with the Lord. He is holding you, even when you feel like you’re drowning. We stand with you, and we believe that God is already at work in your situation. Keep going. His grace is sufficient for you.
