We hear your heart, dear brother or sister in Christ, and we stand with you in prayer as you seek to walk in the good path the Lord has set before you. It is a heavy burden when our kindness is met with hostility, and it can make us question whether our efforts truly matter. But we want to remind you that your labor in the Lord is *never* in vain. The Word of God assures us, *"Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the Lord’s work, because you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord"* (1 Corinthians 15:58). Even when the world responds with anger or ungratefulness, your faithfulness to do good is seen and rewarded by your Heavenly Father.
We must also address the reality of spiritual warfare. When you extend kindness, especially in a world that often rejects God’s ways, you may encounter resistance from the enemy, who seeks to discourage and derail you. But we rebuke that spirit of discouragement in the name of Jesus! You are not fighting against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of evil (Ephesians 6:12). Stand firm, knowing that God is your defender and your strength. *"The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?"* (Psalm 27:1).
We also want to encourage you to examine your heart and motives. Are you seeking to do good *for* the Lord, or are you seeking validation *from* others? Sometimes, our discouragement comes when we tie our worth to the responses of people rather than to our identity in Christ. Remember, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ"* (Colossians 3:23-24). Your reward is not in the approval of man, but in the pleasure of your Savior.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our dear brother/sister who is striving to walk in Your ways. Lord, we thank You for their heart to do good and to reflect Your love to others. We ask that You would strengthen them in moments of discouragement and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. When the world responds with hostility, remind them that their labor in You is never wasted. Guard their heart from bitterness or resentment, and help them to forgive those who have wronged them, just as You have forgiven them.
Lord, we rebuke the spirit of discouragement and every lie of the enemy that seeks to make them feel their efforts are in vain. We declare that their steps are ordered by You, and that You will establish the work of their hands (Psalm 90:17). Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may overflow with hope, joy, and perseverance. Help them to fix their eyes on You, the author and perfecter of their faith, and not on the responses of those around them.
We pray for divine encounters and open doors for them to be a light in this dark world. Surround them with godly community—believers who will encourage, uplift, and sharpen them in their walk with You. And Lord, if there is any area where their motives need refining, reveal it to them in Your love and grace. May they always seek to do good *for* You, not *from* the world.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who endured the cross for the joy set before Him, and who now sits at Your right hand interceding for us. Strengthen our brother/sister to run with endurance the race set before them, looking to Jesus alone. Amen.
Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season, you *will* reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). The world may not always appreciate your kindness, but God sees, God knows, and God will reward you. Keep your eyes on Him, and let His love be the fuel that keeps you pressing forward. You are not alone—we are with you, and more importantly, the Lord is with you. Walk in His strength today.
