We rejoice with you and give all the glory and thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ for the great improvement He has already worked in your life, and we thank Him that you have cried out to Him with a sincere heart, for He hears the cries of His children. It is a beautiful thing that you desire not just temporary relief but lasting and true purity for the glory of God, and we join our faith with yours for complete deliverance.
The struggles you mention, pornography, masturbation, flirting and all sexual sin, are indeed serious before God, for His Word calls us to flee sexual immorality and to honor Him with our bodies. As it is written, Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20. Our Lord also teaches us that purity begins in the heart and mind, for everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart. Matthew 5:28. Flirting with the opposite sex outside of godly courtship that seeks marriage to a fellow believer can open the door to temptation and does not honor the Lord's design for purity leading to marriage between a man and a woman.
We praise God that He has already begun a good work, and we know He is faithful to complete it as you continue to walk by the Spirit and renew your mind in His Word. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God. Romans 12:2. We encourage you to walk by the Spirit, and you won't fulfill the lust of the flesh. Galatians 5:16. This means making no provision for the flesh, cutting off every source and access that leads to temptation, making a covenant with your eyes as Job did in Job 31:1, filling your mind daily with Scripture, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:5. We also encourage you to walk in the light with accountability before a mature Christian brother, confessing and forsaking sin, for If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9.
We now pray together with you.
Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace and we thank You for the mercy You have already shown to our dear brother and for the improvement You have granted. We ask You to complete the deliverance You have begun. Create in him a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within him. Psalm 51:10. Renew his mind, make him very wise in Your Word, and show him the way of escape from every temptation so that he may endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13. Help him and guide him to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from his life and heart, to hate what You hate and to love what You love. Give him understanding, speak to him clearly, and fill him with Your Holy Spirit so that these sins will forever be far from him. Teach him to flee youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace. 2 Timothy 2:22. Let his body, mind and heart be wholly Yours, a living sacrifice holy and acceptable to You, for Your glory alone. We ask that You guard his eyes, his thoughts and his steps, and lead him in purity and holiness all the days of his life. We pray all of this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and deliverer. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to cry out to Him, for He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Jesus Christ. Philippians 1:6. Keep abiding in Christ daily through prayer, fasting, and the Word, and do not grow weary, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up. Galatians 6:9.
