Beloved of All
I had problems with pornography, masturbation, flirting (with the opposite sex) and sexual sins... Now there is a great improvement! Let us give all the glory and thanks for this to the Lord Jesus Christ! But there is still a great need for more improvement (lasting and true) for the glory of God! Let us pray for this...Please pray that God will help me and guide me to do whatever it takes to remove these sins forever from my life and heart, in the Name of Jesus Christ. Let us pray that God will also work, renew my mind, make me very wise, so that these sins will forever be far from me, in the Name of Jesus Christ! Let us pray that God will show me mercy, speak to me, give me understanding and deliverance. I really prayed and cried a lot...😭

We rejoice with you and we give all the glory and thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ for the great improvement He has already worked in your life, for every tear you have shed and every prayer you have cried out has been heard by our merciful Father. We thank God that you have not grown comfortable with sin but you hunger for lasting and true deliverance and holiness for the glory of God, and that desire itself is evidence of His Spirit working in you.

We want to encourage you and also speak plainly with you about these sexual sins, because pornography, masturbation, and flirting outside of godly courtship are not small struggles, they are fornication and lust of the flesh and they defile the heart and the body which is meant to be a temple of the Holy Spirit. Jesus taught us that everyone who looks at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart in Matt 5:28, and Scripture commands us to flee sexual immorality in 1 Cor 6:18 and to flee youthful lusts and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace in 2 Tim 2:22. These sins begin in the heart and mind before they become actions, as Jas 1:14-15 teaches, and that is why you are right to ask God to remove them not only from your life but from your heart and to renew your mind.

We see your cry for wisdom and renewal and we stand with you in that, for true freedom does not come by willpower alone but by walking by the Spirit so you will not carry out the desire of the flesh as Gal 5:16 says, and by being transformed by the renewing of your mind as Rom 12:2 says. God promises that if we confess our sins He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness in 1 John 1:9, and He promises to give us a new heart and to put His word within us so we can keep our way pure as Ps 119:9 and Ps 119:11 teach, and to guard our hearts with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life in Prov 4:23.

We encourage you to do whatever it takes in practical obedience as you have prayed. Make a covenant with your eyes as in Job 31:1, cut off every source and access to pornography, remove images and places and conversations that cause you to stumble, for it is better to remove the cause than to fight the temptation repeatedly. Bring your struggle into the light with a mature, same sex, Christian believer for accountability, fill your mind daily with the Word of God, memorize it, pray without ceasing, fast as the Lord leads, and flee when temptation comes rather than reasoning with it. God has promised that no temptation has taken you except what is common to man and He will with the temptation also make the way of escape in 1 Cor 10:13. If you are not yet pursuing marriage, keep your interactions with the opposite sex pure and purposeful, and if God wills marriage for you, pray for a godly spouse and for a courtship that honors Him and keeps itself pure until marriage, for marriage between a man and a woman is the only holy place for sexual intimacy as Heb 13:4 teaches.

We join our faith with yours now and we pray together.

Father, we come before You in the mighty Name of Jesus Christ, and we thank You for the work You have already done in our dear brother and for the broken and contrite heart that seeks You. We ask for Your mercy and Your deliverance, wash him thoroughly and create in him a clean heart and renew a right spirit within him according to Ps 51:10. Renew his mind, make him very wise in Your Word, give him understanding and speak to him clearly by Your Spirit, help him to hate what You hate and to love holiness. Teach him to walk by Your Spirit each day, to flee every appearance of evil, to guard his eyes and his heart, and to do whatever it takes to keep these sins forever far from him. Strengthen him when he is weak, lift him when he falls, and let him know that Your grace is sufficient and Your power is made perfect in weakness. Complete the good work You have begun in him until the day of Jesus Christ according to Phil 1:6, and let his life bring glory to You alone. We ask all this in the Name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray and to cry out as you have, to stay in the Word daily, and to trust that God who heard your first cry will be faithful to keep you and to make you holy, for He who calls you is faithful, who will also do it in 1 Thess 5:24.

We rejoice with you that you are seeing real change and you are giving Christ the glory for it. To have prayed and wept over this and then to see improvement is a mercy, and we thank God with you for it.

We also hear how much you long for this freedom to be lasting and deep in the heart, not just behavior for a season. That desire itself is good ground for God to keep working. Growth in purity is often less like a single event and more like learning to walk, step by step, with honest daily choices rather than waiting for one moment to fix everything at once.

One thing that has helped many who have walked this same struggle is not walking alone. Isolation makes temptation stronger. Having one trusted same sex person, perhaps a pastor or mature believer, who knows your story and can check in with you regularly, hear honestly how you are doing, and pray with you, can make a real difference. Removing what trips you up and planning ahead for vulnerable moments while you are clear headed also matters.

We are standing with you as God continues His work in you, renewing your mind and making you wise to walk away from what harms you.

Father, we thank You for the work You have already done in our brother's life. Have mercy on him, give him wisdom and strength for each day, guard his heart and mind, and lead him into lasting freedom and purity. Keep him close to You and to faithful help around him. In Jesus' name, amen.

We rejoice with you that the Lord has wrought an improvement in your soul, and we join you in giving all glory and thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ, for every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father of Lights. That you can now look back and see some chains broken is proof that He who is gracious has spoken concerning you, Deliver him from going down to the Pit, I have found a ransom. Nobody would have thought of that way of deliverance from the pit through a ransom if God had not thought of it, but He has found it in the gift of His own Son who bore the penalty of all our iniquities.

And we hear your cry for a lasting and true deliverance, that these sins may be forever far from you and from your heart. Take comfort in this, that deliverance from the power of sin is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy. When any man is saved from spiritual bondage, it is the Lord Jesus who loosens the captive, and unless a supernatural power is put forth, any form of deliverance is worth nothing. You must be born again from above if you are to live above. There is no true liberty but that of which Christ makes you free. Therefore we must look to our heavenly Father altogether and alone for sanctification.

Your affliction and your struggle He has permitted, and it is well to have grace enough to see that even this chastening is from a Father's hand. The Lord Himself kindles the fiery furnace and sits as a Refiner at the door, not to destroy you but to make the sharpest smart profitable. He has taught you the mischief that comes from loving the world and the things thereof, and now the fascinating power of sin may tempt you in vain as you look to Him.

So we will pray with you, and we exhort you to keep yourself unspotted from the world. The Christian never expects to get any good from the world. You do not need to be muddied. When you find that which would draw you toward impurity, whether it be the image on a screen, the secret act, or the flirting tongue, turn away from it, flee from it, and cry to God to preserve you from evil. The only hope we have of eternal life is by being parted from sin, and we have from day to day to fight against it till it is utterly put away from us.

Let us pray that God will show you mercy, speak to you, and give you understanding and deliverance in the Name of Jesus Christ. We ask the Lord to renew your mind and make you very wise with that wisdom which is from above, to keep back your soul from the Pit and your life from perishing, to deliver you from yourself and from all the attacks of your old sins, from the devil and from evil company. We pray that He who has begun a good work will perfect it, that He will deliver you not only from conspicuous sins but from the very power of darkness, according to that word, He has delivered us from the power of darkness and has translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son.

Take courage, for God has given commandment to save you and you shall be saved. And when He has delivered you, your conduct shall be that of the psalmist who said, I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord. Go forth then and declare what great things the Lord has done for you, that others who are wounded by the same arrows may find hope in your deliverance.

We give thanks with you and give all glory to the Lord Jesus Christ for the improvement He has already worked in your life, and we hear your cry for lasting and true deliverance. God sees your tears and your prayers, and He is merciful to those who come to Him in repentance and faith.

The change you desire is not only to stop outward acts but to be renewed inwardly. Scripture calls us to be renewed in the spirit of our minds, where the same person is made new by the Holy Spirit, so that old deeds no longer have a dwelling place. This renewal is a work of God, and it is also a path we walk step by step. Learn virtue in order, as one learns letters, first turning from what defiles speech and thought, then from lust and excess, and then practicing continence, temperance, purity and humility of mind. In this way Christ forms a living pattern of holiness in us.

We pray for you now that God will grant you complete deliverance and enduring wisdom. We ask that He will help you to do what is necessary to put these sins far from your heart forever, not as one who remains in sin but as one who has been washed and converted and walks in newness of life. We pray that He will renew your mind, make you wise to flee temptation, to guard your eyes and your heart, to turn away from what feeds lust, including pornography and flirting and filthy talk and jesting which carry lust into the soul, and to pursue what is pure and holy. We pray that He will show you mercy, speak to you through His Word, give you understanding, and strengthen you by His Spirit to despise sin and to love holiness, for purity belongs to those who tremble at His Word and walk in meekness before Him.

We encourage you to continue in daily prayer, in reading Scripture, in honest fellowship with faithful believers who will keep you accountable, and in cutting off every access to temptation. Do not trust in your own resolve, but in Christ who makes men new and who is able to keep you. If you fall, do not remain there, but confess quickly, receive His forgiveness, and rise again to walk in obedience.

Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, we thank You for the work You have begun in this soul. In the name of Jesus Christ, have mercy and complete what You have started. Renew his mind by Your Spirit, grant him wisdom and self control, cleanse his heart, and make these sins to be far from him. Teach him to love purity, to walk in continence and righteousness, and to live for Your glory within the holy design You have given for our good, where sexual intimacy belongs only within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. Keep him, guide him, and establish him in lasting holiness. Amen.
